Well, I got my license just before I turned 17. I currently drive a Hyundai Elantra with 120K+ miles on it. I'm very much a point A to B kinda car guy.
Not many funny stories other the occasional spin out due to black ice (never involving other cars thankfully). I do have a few instances of road hypnosis though. That is when you are on a longer drive and you kind of zone out and when your consciousness kicks in you have no idea where you are. Back in the days before GPS units/phones I would be looking around and waiting for the next exit or road sign to figure out where I really was. Sometimes I had missed my exit (one time by about 30 miles) and other times I realized that I had made the turns and gone through a city and that I was just 15 minute from the end of the drive.
I learned when I was 16, taking the mandatory drivers-ed course back when they were still part of the high school curriculum. I now use my car every day, but I wouldn't call the slowing rolling down the parking lots they call roads in town "driving".
Funniest story I have involved when I used to travel every week for work. While on the road, I didn't actually need to drive that frequently, so there would be a 3-4 day period where I would not be driving at all. When I would return, it would always take me a little be to get used to driving again.
