I spend all weekend working on my living room. I'm about 80 to 85 % done. Large undertaking but it is only costing me about... 300$ It's looking great. I purchased the paint yesterday and mounted the TV! AHHH! Wood working is the bees-knees!
  2. Reapercon BoGW?

I didn't go to reaper con but man-alive I want that dragon bust. I hope they put that in the store at some point. I imagine they won't but a guy can dream.

  4. Sir Conlan 77200

Well done. Good choice in green for his cloak. I could see some white/light-brown dry brushed on the bottom of it too. Have you seen the new Invisible version of that miniature? http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/77453/latest/77453

More involved: There is a closet next to the fire place. We are cutting into that to make a space for a cabinet. The Cabinet will be built at his house at his work shop. He has planned some designed that he says "adds value to the house" as oppose to the way I was planning on doing it with 2x4's and dry wall. Apparently the cabinet is better and adds value as well as the way he plans on doing it. The cabinet will also feature a rack at the bottom of it to hold fire wood, one of the shelves will have a power outlet ran to it as well as the pass-through and feature false-backs to hide dropped cables. Additionally, it will have those computer fans to pull heat out into the closet. Next we mount the TV and put the pass-through in on that end. After that I am painting the entire wall white. It is this wood color and it looked like it was from the 70'2... I really don't like the look of it. And finally. we are designing and making and whole new mantel piece. The current one is pretty basic... It's a big undertaking for me as I have not done a project like this before. The bonus is that I don't have to pay for labor of any kind, all the material is at my own expense and I get to learn some skills from a master. WIN WIN WIN!

Well just purchased the TV & wall mount... this project is officially underway. Going shooting with my buddy the carpenter tomorrow and we are going to discuss starting the project next weekend. AHHH!!! Exciting. I get to learn carpentry skills and have a new living room... at cost... my own cost of materials. Agreed.

Just purchased the low voltage computer fans plus a 12v plug in charger for the cabinet and the power pass through. Next big leap is the new TV & mount.

So i'm planning out improving my living room at home; Media Cabinet, new mantel and mounting a TV over the fireplace as well as putting a pass through in. I have a buddy at work who is a carpenter and is willing to show me how to do the work using his tools for free I just have to buy the material! WIN WIN! 1970'2 Wood panel look to modern painted panels and media cabinet here i come! Just have to get an electrician in to wire power (and other wiring around the house to boot)
