  1. Hello, With the updates to the rules I figured I should get more painting done for Warmachine. I have found I paint faster with feedback, and as the previous forum I was using slowed considerably, I was invited here by a regular. The first group on the block is most of the rest of my mercs. There's a few more that will likely need their own threads later. It's a range of new and old, so from Left to right: Herne and Jonne - PIP Code: 41005 The two black based minis, I got them at a miniature market swap meet type event with MK1 cards, so they're probably the oldest minis in this. Bases are Secret weapon resin Town Square Bases. Gorman di Wulfe - PIP Code: 41014 He'll be the second time I've painted this model. Ghordson Basher - PIP Code: 41082 Back row, and falling down, because I tend to paint in parts. Devil's Shadow Mutineers - PIP Code: 41104 These three are on modified secret weapon blasted wetlands bases, three pirates in the front row. Classic Mule PIP Code: 41019 - Metal mule, because I enjoy the design a bit more than the conglomerated kit plastic kit, standing on a secret weapon Town Square Base. Rutger Shaw PIP Code: 41075 - Should have been painted a long time ago, as evidenced by the partial base coat. Ashlynn D'elyse PIP Code: 41090 - Awesome mini, huge banner that I don't know what to do with yet. Gastone Crosse Kickstarter Edition (no pip code) - one of the daggers is cracked so I'll need to repair it somehow in this wip.
  2. That bone color armor looks fantastic, and that model is stunningly complicated... they're approaching Malafaux levels of tiny bits and pieces.
  3. In the interest of getting the right leg on him attached, I ended up painting most of the front bottom half to done! Also did a lot with the skin, though... I might try to smooth it out a bit more.
  4. Morland, got his basecoats! going to go with that deep bruisey purple for a base on the skin since all three are supposed to look... not quite right, so well see how it goes.
  5. I've had it be pretty hit and miss depending on the marker. Granite is done aside from a little touch up! I may have 1-2 more figures and a goalpost to add to the team soon, then I'll probably branch out to another team!
  6. So while I was working through my Warmachine backlog, a little game called Guildball caught my eye. I waffled a bit on teams but decided for now that masons were my team, so I'll be painting them up here, hopefully quickly so I can play the game. From left to right, ball, Honour and Harmony, Wrecker the Mascot (not a fancy ball), Granite, Mallet and Chisel.
  7. Wrecker is complete and like Chisel, it was a joy to paint, with great sculpted textures. All that's left is granite, and, once I get done building it I'll return to this thread with their goal.
  8. Yup! Morland is 1/3 of the Devils Shadow Mutineers unit. They had my eye from concept art, I've just taken... way too long to get to painting them.
  9. Thanks! A whole unit would look crazy. Thanks! I arrived on the stone edges back in warmachine, and really took a liking to it for gaming pieces to make them look like they're a part of a game. I wanted them to look like chess pieces when I started out, and I think that's still an image that appeals to me. And chisel is done! Wrecker will be next, with granite following up the tail. Chisel was a great mini to paint, beautiful face and the sculpt just makes the work easy.
  10. And, we're back. Next up is another pirate from the Mutineers, Morland. This guy should be fun, though I need to look up his canon scheme, it has some really cool touches.
  11. Thanks Xherman! Mallet done, Chisel is up and Wrecker is on deck, though chisel is... already half done because I started painting same colors across multiple figures. Like her pants, vest and orange accents are pretty much ready.
  12. I'm going to second Kuro on the army painter washes. Soft tone is incredibly useful.
  13. I love that green... and am a bit jealous as I'd love to have a Perceval to paint but the figure has remained out of reach so far. Don't be scared of the hair, that sort of detail loves washes and has well defined high points to accent for highlights from what I can see. Great job so far.
  14. Thank you for the tip! I actually usually use a fine point marker like an 005 Sakura pen for the eyes, it's my last step so it won't show up until the mini is done since the ink will run if it gets wet and isn't sealed. I'll have to take another angle on harmony, her eyes do look a bit odd at that angle, and I added a wash to her base to clean it up.
  15. Honour done! Harmony in progress, blue pants, skin and white shirt are done, everything else still is in progress, and starting in on Mallet now, with his skin.
  16. I was slowly drawn in by some of the minis, but the style of game is what caught my attention. It took a while for a full team to catch my attention enough to decide to buy in.As for the minis The newest ones in metal are particularly good. You'll likely notice a difference in detail and clarity between these and Chisel or Granite, the newer two models.
  17. Skin tones WiP, and the blue on Honour, and the ball is done.
  18. Basecoats are done as of earlier tonight! I'm getting on a roll with these I think, so I'll have some more to show tomorrow.
  19. Thank you so much everyone! Thank you for your kind comments, and I really appreciate knowing what stands out for you. Funny enough the company that makes these just released their first manga, so they're starting to make their moves towards more visual storytelling outside the game, so who knows, maybe soon!
  20. Hello everyone, here's a project that I've been working on for over a year! I actually got Operation Icestorm, way back when it was released, and now it's done, including the CSU, which I had to hunt down since there was a preorder error that resulted in my order not being treated like a preorder by a distributor. Long story short, I didn't work on it for a while, then took my time getting it done! A special thank you by the way to SGHawkins, who helped me track the CSU mini down. I decided to go very naval military on the Pan-Oceania team, dark blue with a few key accents to match the original designs. For Nomads, seeing as they're just basically Australia 2.0 in space with hackers and punk rock, I went with bright orange, purple, white and fun hair. They've also got gloss on the guns, since I was trying to mimic the original IPod for their weapons, and it will help the two teams stand out since this is a starter box so I could teach the game as well. The Whole Box Nomads Pan-o Fusiliers Auguacles ORC Trooper and Mobile Brigada Akalis and Spektr Nisse and Grenzer Reverend Healer and Father Knight CSU Feel free to ask questions!
  21. Coincidentally, Wrecker was the first mini I bought for this. :)
  22. And the Dwarf is done! I'm going to choose a new mini to work on in a day or two probably, I sort of need my paint stand to clear a few things to complete a project and make space for a new project. The red's not the strongest I've done, but I like his final look.
  23. Alright, home stretch here. All that's left is red, silver, lenses, and incidental metallics on the figure, and red and stonework, and a little metallic detail on the base.
  24. Thanks! I think it's a wind gauge and periscope with an angle finder on it for artillary targeting. His buddy in the unit is carrying a mortar, basically.
