  1. Zombie Fuhrer is complete...actually, this was one of the first 4 miniatures I ever painted...I just needed to do the gore effects and glue the swastika decal on his armband...he's for my 28mm diorama project tentatively titled Plan 9: Resurrection...I'll give an update on him and the other Nazi zombies when I finish their vehicles and Blondi, the zombie Fuhrer's zombie dog! Not hating it...but will probably paint another at some point...
  2. Thanks...I tried to make him yucky.... Ben

    Sister Ellen-Zombie nun

Sorry for the multiple crappy pictures...my cheapy camera doesn't like bright white at all, so I had to take multiple pics under multiple lighting situations to get all the different elements photographed...having said all that, let me introduce you to Sister Ellen!Sister Ellen is a zombie nun character in my upcoming diorama "Plan 9: Ressurection". I made her ruler myself, the figure came from Westwind Productions, and she's 28mm. She used to be a teacher in a Catholic school...and carries a weaponized ruler to aid in her spree! She used to crack knuckles and take names, now she cracks skulls and eats BRAINS!!!

    77342 ZOMBIES! (#1Finished)

Finished ancient zombie #1...as I was playing with the skin tone I decided to go very dark...I don't want all caucasian zombies in the diorama so I might as well start practicing other skin tones...he's just OK I guess...there are things I like about how he turned out and things I don't like...still learning on miniatures...

    77342 ZOMBIES!

My fourth miniature...I went for a very muted color scheme on this guy..he came in a 5 pack of similar zombies that resemble the tar-man zombies from "Return Of The Living Dead" so I'm really trying to reign it in with the color...he's still not done...I MIGHT brighten him up just the slightest touch with a bit more dry brushing...and I'm going to add a bit of glossy gore to him...28mm...from Reaper Miniatures

    Zombie German Officer-DONE!

And my second miniature is done...Nazi Zombie Officer #1...28mm....added some blood and bile effects...fun piece to do...I included a few natural light photos so as to give a better idea of the colors, but when I don't use the flash the detail isn't as clear...so there's that...I'm really enjoying the learning process of painting minis, and although I'm aware this is far from perfect, it's about 10 times better than I expected my second mini to be, so I'm still very encouraged...this is really really fun! Thanks Ben

    Zombie Skin

Reviving an old thread, here...but back in olden times, I put myself through nursing school by working as an orderly in a county hospital morgue...and I can tell you from THOUSANDS of experiences...there is no consistent color for the freshly dead, so I would assume there is no consistent color for the freshly re-animated...much depends on how the person died...I've seen corpses that turned black, green, purple, blue, white, yellow...even orange...and every combination of these colors... Thanks Ben

    Zombie German Officer-DONE!

That actually IS Blood For The Blood God...so I guess it just needs some darker red or black here and there...don't know if my camera will ever take a clear picture without the flash...I've tried pretty much everything....appreciate the input very much, though! Thanks Ben

    My First Miniature!

I finished my first miniature...sort of...maybe...The Templar Sergeant...In my effort to leave him looking dirty, his tunic just turned out looking like a crappy dry brushing...I need to let him be for a few days and just look at him and see if it grows on me, or if I'll go ahead and correct the tunic...struggled with his buckles, too...very small...Overall I'm really happy with my first miniature effort...and I'd definitely say I've got the bug...really enjoying the process! I really did nothing with the base, as this is not his final resting place... Thanks Ben

    Zombie German Officer W.I.P.

Almost done with my second miniature...calling him Zombie Nazi Officer #1...All I have to do is seal him with dullcoat and then add the gore! The gore effects are glossy so I like to add them after the dullcoat...again...he's not perfect...but I'm reasonably pleased with him...might go over his webbing straps with dark gray again...looks fine in person, but the flash washes out the color...Since he looked all melty I interpreted him as having been burned...should have him finished Sunday or Monday and I'll post the finished product in the show off section...
  20. W.I.P.-Started working on my very second miniature...Zombie Nazi Field Officer...his face is pretty vague...kind of looks like he's melting...so I have an idea for him...still lots of layering, dry brushing, detail, and bloody goo to go...hands are a bit shaky tonight so I may have to put him away until tomorrow...28mm Thanks Ben

    My First Miniature!

Oh I'm talking 1:8 and 1:6 scale stuff as being my comfort zone...1:12 at the very smallest...until now! I was actually doing some effects painting on some small statues for an old abandoned abbey for a 1:8 scale Grim Reaper/Plague Doctor diorama I'm working on, when the light bulb went off above my head that I'd like to try some miniatures!
