  1. Hot & Dangerous

I noticed this on mine as well. They seem fairly shallow 'though so I'm hoping they can be camouflaged with paint.
  2. Chronicle X by Archon Studios

MOD: project now Live. Link below: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1915792245/chronicle-x-by-archon-studio?ref=video Basically what we appear to have here is an ... Xcom Board Game (or at least a "not" XCOM boardgame). Preview page link The board looks very Heroquest for now. Central crossroads, four surrounding complexes of rooms.
  3. GW to re-release Necromunda!

    Either that or Ambulls.
  4. GW to re-release Necromunda!

And to think there were people claiming the only reason Squats were mentioned on page 16 of the rulebook was that they copied in an old paragraph from the old Necromunda rulebook. The rest of us suspected the mention was permitted to remain intentionally and not an oversight.
  5. Kings of War: Vanguard

Top half of the left arm looks the same. If the left arm joins at the elbow instead of the armpit then that's slightly less material wasted.
  6. Not A-team minis

Back in the day one company did The Z Team in a blister pack. I can't remember if it was Harlequin Miniatures or Heartbreaker Miniatures. I want to go with Heartbreaker.
  7. Freya's Wrath: Dark Age & Fantasy 28mm Shieldmaidens

I was just thinking that otters and elk would be more historically & regionally appropriate than beavers and moose (which are more regionally specific).
  8. Freya's Wrath: Dark Age & Fantasy 28mm Shieldmaidens

Oh Annie's blatantly a Saga fan. She's been stocking Saga stuff for ages. I'm a bit confused at how Canadian the animal selection seems to be given that she's not even remotely Canadian as far as I can tell. She always sounds English in the interviews.
  9. New DM is throwing up too many red flags!

You know, some people are getting really hung up on this horse issue. Back when I was running Night Below years ago I've got to give respect to the guy who insisted on playing a Centaur. When confronted by a ladder descending down a narrow mine shaft he pointed to his legs and said "there's absolutely no way I'm going to climb down that thing" before I, as GM, needed to point it out to him. They ended up magically shrinking him down to a smaller size, tying a rope around his horse middle, and lowering him down. Imagine if the centaur had tried to clamber down the ladder. Now that would just be a disaster waiting to happen. There might not even be a ladder left afterwards for the other pc's to use.
  10. New DM is throwing up too many red flags!

Sadly that sounds as if this happens often and he refuses to learn from it.
  11. Nemesis Board Game

    Always :).
  12. Nemesis Board Game

Kind of in the same boat really. I'm not that fussed about kickstarter exclusives. I backed shortly after the project launched to lock in that day 1 exclusive but I can drop out again nearer the deadline if I change my mind. What's the deal with all these 3 week kickstarter campaigns recently? It's a very awkward campaign length because we're all used to them lasting 28 or 30 days and, as we all know, we don't need to have the money in our bank account 'til the end date. The four week assumption can prove problematic regarding three week campaigns if we've got nearly enough money but are waiting on payday to know we can comfortably back a project. Then again, if it's that close, we should probably be very careful whether we back a project or not in the first place.
  13. New DM is throwing up too many red flags!

You know some gm's can run good investigations. Then you run into these guys. The "there's only one solution and everything else fails" kind. Those basically shouldn't be gm's because they subject their players to too much needless suffering. Oh he probably did. He needed the players to see how awesome his dmpc's autokill cutscenedeath was to shock them into knowing that people could die in this world if a single attack got rid of all their hit points. Then they saved the dmpc so he sulked and railroaded them into following the linear plot he'd planned in advance.
  14. Nemesis Board Game

The lovely Irish guys at Beasts of War got to play with the prototype for this game. They've released their gameplay video today but I won't link to it yet since youtube has adverts and we're not allowed to link to commercial sites. If a moderator says it's okay I'll provide a link.
  15. 32mm Fantasy miniatures

I don't know about the rest of you but doesn't the elven huntress sculpt look like she has a neatly trimmed short beard? It's something about the jawline, the chin, the upper lip ... she just appears to have a slightly shorter version of the Wolf Mage's beard. It's been bugging me for hours now. I love the artwork. I like the sculpt from the neck down. The head, hair and beard just don't look quite right for me when compared to the original artwork.
  16. New DM is throwing up too many red flags!

Have your group heard of The Head of Vecna?
  17. New DM is throwing up too many red flags!

I once had a campaign go dark because the gm got diagnosed with oesophageal cancer and didn't tell any of us until about a year later. He finally got back in touch and let us know but the campaign didn't really continue after that.
  18. Nemesis Board Game

And the massive open cleavage on the Pilot doesn't bring her down in your estimations as well? I mean, i she's on a space ship ... in space .... that's got to be flaunting some kind of safety regulations.
  19. Nemesis Board Game

In the artwork or on the sculpt? They're quite different.
  20. Raging Heroes: Dark Elves and Sisters

Yeah. You know the one who has a separate foot? That foot fell on the carpet. I spent 9 days looking for it before I gave up. To make things worse I have 7 more copies of the same figure to assemble. I haven't contacted customer service yet to ask for a replacement because there was nothing wrong with the foot and losing it was my fault. I imagine I'm going to have to try to sculpt a replacement, hide her in the middle of the unit (she was supposed to complete the 3rd rank) and hope I don't notice the difference too often. Try various Spanish, Polish & Italian companies. The vents and gates are huge to the point of almost making it impossible to remove pieces from the sprues without destroying them.
  21. Trudvang Chronicles

It's noting that the pdfs are really well optimised. I don't know why but the file sizes are quite small considering the quality of the art work, the page counts, bookmarks, page layouts etc. I've seen professional pdfs from other companies with much larger relative file sizes considering their content. I don't know what these Swedes did to optimise the files so successfully but they've certainly earned my respect for that alone :).
  22. Raging Heroes: Dark Elves and Sisters

Yeah. All my troops and command are in resin as well. I pretty much went in purely on the fantasy nuns with the sci fi gangster nuns and knight of the chalice as the only exceptions. When it comes to using a modeling knife to remove mould lines don't cut. Scrape. Here's a partially assembled resin unit as proof.
  23. Raging Heroes: Dark Elves and Sisters

Agreed. I was able to send them a photo of the broken horse's leg and the banner, they immediately identified which of the 6 horses it was and put the replacement parts (horse body (with un-broken leg) and unit standard) in the post the very next day. I believe they arrived here in England from France four or five days later so the whole thing was resolved in a little less than a week.
  24. Raging Heroes: Dark Elves and Sisters

Man that is seriously unlucky. I haven't received anything that bad from them yet. I did receive a few miscasts (including a horse with a snapped ankle and a broken banner pole) and those got replaced very quickly. I know I've come across some horror stories so I'm just going to assume that people are getting very mixed experiences with this company. Thanks for the photograph. That helped to demonstrate what you've received. I suppose I should just count my lucky stars.
  25. Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay coming back!

I believe these are being done by Cubicle 7. If they do anything like as well as they did with the Lone Wolf stuff then I'm fully expecting the new WFRP to be great fun. Well written, good production values etc. Now that being said I think WFRP probably deserves a more indepth rules system to satisfy the fans but, as a company, Cubicle 7 do well when it comes to putting a lot of love into their rpg products.
