  1. Base Boss by Reaper

I was noticing a lack of 55mm bases. But the only thing I use that size for is some Infinity models. It's really a hugely oddball size in my experience. Is there something else that uses 55mm ?
  2. Reaper Bones 3: Post-Kickstarter Discussion

Shipping day is still not here. Maybe I should box up all my unpainted bones from I and II and dump those over me. I'm patient, but still my inner toddler isn't.
  3. Happy Birthday ReaperBryan!

    Happy birthday!
  4. Minis we would like to see

female sword master in a full length hauberk. similar to Hestrig, but with chainmail. something like: http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/forgottenrealms/images/c/cd/Elven_chain.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20100801195943
  5. Pronunciation of miniature

min-ih-chur no idea where the "a" went.
  6. Reaper Bones 3: Post-Kickstarter Discussion

For regrets, I offer some cold logic: Are you likely to have completely painted your first set of Blackstar Corsairs by the time they're available retail?
  7. Reaper Bones 3: Post-Kickstarter Discussion

All told, I think I spent about $20 on KS3.
  8. It's well known the brown liner is a good "base" coat on bones. It makes the details pop and paint adhere better. But looking at the terrain from DDS2, then the 1/2oz bottle of brown liner, i'm pretty certain that my air brush is going to need more than a 1/2oz. So, if it'd be economical to produce, I'd like to go on the record as someone who'd buy a larger size bottle of the brown liner. 4oz? 8oz?
  9. Reaper Bones 3: Post-Kickstarter Discussion

If I'm seeing stuff listed in "Completed Orders", that means I'm "Locked In", right?
  10. Paint Bottles with clogged droppers...

T-pins are my go to clog clearing tool. Small glass beads for agitators can be found at craft stores. Something around 3mm works well. Make sure the beads you choose are just glass, not glass with sparkles or anything else that might come off and mess with your paint.
  11. Painting eyes.

paint the hard to reach eye first...
  12. Coming to America II - heeeeyyelp

The Cleveland Tourism board has asked me to note that we're just now receiving our second decent snow storm -- and even that's only about 3" on the ground. Seriously, Rock Hall, good museums and zoo and aquarium. oh, and FOOD. excellent dining establishments and brewerys here. good park system. Cedar Point amusement park about 90min away, though it's not fun alone or for people whose physician recommends against roller coaters ( :( ). Don't speed here. Traffic enforcement equates to revenue generation for a good number of municipalities.
  13. Coming to America II - heeeeyyelp

    1. Washington DC has a pretty decent subway / mass transit train system. Last time I visited, I made my base in a suburb in Maryland and took the train in. It worked out pretty well. 2. The Inner Harbor area of Baltimore is very nice. I recommend that. Depending on the time of year, there may be festivals set up there as well. 3. Possibly. It's been one of my rules of existing to not taunt someone with a gun. Seriously, if they're on duty, don't mess with them. If you strike up a conversation with a uniformed servicemember who's not working, use your best judgement. They're still people and can have a really good sense of humor -- just don't mess with them while at work. 4. I'd base in Baltimore or NYC, but that's me. Williamsburg is sort of "meh" to me. 5. Smithsonian Institute. The Air & Space Museum is what I really want to return to, but there are a number of historical and naturally aligned museums at the institute that may peak your interest. I imagine there's some cave systems inland a bit and within day trip distance, but I don't know any of the top of my head.
  14. Wagon wheels? Anything?

Oddly, the latest Paizo prepainted plastic set has a wagon.
  15. Rafm Drow elf

the black metal looks very nice. did you use a metallic medium added to a black or what?
  16. Happy birthday, mikem91!

Thanks :D Another year older, another year wiser. I hope.
  17. New Releases: Jan 25

Andriessa and Arathanel in metal is cool. Are there plans to put all the party members from DDS2 into metal?
  18. David Bowie RIP

    Definitely a shock. RIP
  19. Retired PCs

I've done something similar, but I skipped two generations, not one. My thinking was if you're playing children of the PCs, those PCs are still very capable people able to swoop in and dominate the scenes. In order to give the new PCs a place to shine, they need to get out of the original PCs shadow. Gramps and granny aren't quite as likely to pick up the mail and the sword over the mantle to help with the bandits in the king's woods. Even better, if gramps and granny have passed on, they're just a legend to the PCs. A second benefit of removing the old PCs from the stage - you won't need to play the character of the old PCs. There will be things they'd done since their adventuring days, but you won't get into "my character wouldn't have said that" disagreements when the new PCs are speaking with the old PCs.
  20. maybe put it on a flocked base like Astrid? the height should look good then.
  21. Halloween Promotion

Zombie and a pirate. Though, I've not opened it yet, so maybe it's zombie and pirate zombie by now...
  22. Infinity

I'm in pretty hard for the kickstarter. I like the non-military minis. I like the setting. After reading the quickstart, I'm starting to have misgivings on the system. It reads a little clunky.
  23. No experience with bones and dishwashers, but I'd be wary of trying as well. The cycle is probably hot enough to get them soft and I would expect them to come out like some sort of melted zombie apocolypse.
  24. I'm tempted. Most things I paint though are pretty small. I love the idea; I'm unsure how many miles I'd get out of them. Following.
  25. Total Lunar Eclipse

It was clouded over here. Thanks for posting the pics.
