  1. I'll echo some previous comments. I like the sculpts - especially the more youthful male spell casters. I don't like enough of them to justify backing at this point. Though retail is likely the way I'll get them. I've starred the project to revisit that decision later, but for now, it's wish-them-success-but-wait-for-retail.

    Deluxe Exalted 3 edition KS

Thread necromancy - my book, map and screen arrived today. Estimated date was Dec 2013. Book is pretty, though matte, not glossy. Heavy. Screen is a little thinner than I'd like, but workable. Map is pretty and tough. One more checkbox ticked on my Kickstarter.

    28mm Female Forest Tribe

The models seem a little "meh" to me. Like something I'd look at on a vendor's table at a con and put back down afterwards. But the price does seem really low. 6$ for four figures in resin? 61$ for fifty-four ?

Minis received :D It really feels good to put a check in a pledge delivered box. Maybe I need to back a couple more short term kickstarters...

Try "Killz" primer. A friend of mine who is a prop master tells me this sticks to pretty much anything. Comes in rattle can and brush on.

Your Kickstarter list. How you doing?

As I look over my backed projects, it's giving me pause. All told I've a little more that 1200$ pledged to various projects; five of which are late - two delusionally so. I've mentally written off ever getting my seafarers of catan gaming board. I gotta give the project some credit in that there's a functional company producing these, but the estimated June 2013 date's expected April 2017 date has slipped now too. Exalted's December 2013 date seems comical as well. I've got some pdfs, but none of the physical rewards yet. Maybe they'll ship sometime next year. Latest update had them in production. Bones 3 being late doesn't particularly bother me. Reaper is a company that does more than just that particular kickstarter and they can weather some delays. Some other companies that pretty much are a kickstarter have to be hurting from any similar delays - years of time in development with no product to show has to be financially rough. Anyway.. Received: - Reaper Miniatures Bones: An Evolution of Gaming Miniatures - The Official Settles of Catan Gaming Board (partial) - Larry Elmore: The Complete Elmore Artbook - The Tomorrow Girl: Dresden Codak Volume 1 - Standard Action Season 3 - Olde World Miniatures - Beats Antique | Brand New Show - A Thousand Faces - Reaper Minatures Bones II: The Return of Mr Bones - Clockwork: Empire Roleplaying Game - The Complete Elmore Volume II: Black & White Delayed: - Deluxe Exalted 3rd Edition (Dec 2013) [concerned] - Reaper Minatures Bones 3: The Search for Mr Bones! (Aug 2016) [ok] - Corvus Belli's INFINITY Roleplaying Game (Jul 2016) [ok] - Infinity Terminus Segments (Nov 2016) [ok] Production: - JourneyQuest Season 3 (Dec 2016) [ok] - The Gamers: Episode 1 (Dec 2016) [ok] - Base Boss by Reaper Minatures (Feb 2017) [ok] - Kev White does Matt Dixon - Female Fantasy Minatures (Apr 2017) [ok] - Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game, Powered by GURPS (May 2017) [ok] - Scion 2nd Edition Tabletop RPG (Oct 2017) [wondering what real date will be] - Isometric Gaming Paper Rolls (Jun 2017) [not sure]

    D&D, minis, and rewards

Pathfinder has short adventures at the end of their comics that shouldn't take an hour to get through. They also have "Quests" for PFS that use pregens and are designed to be run quickly (~1hr). They strings together for a broader narrative too

Faction Miniatures?? how to get them??

Also, they're using DHL skus, so they'll probably be general availability at sometime (as opposed to special editions skus).
  12. This method sounds brillaint. I wonder if it would scale up to a washing machine to use with Bones 3.... (not serious, but amusing some part of me)

    It's an airbrush?

Before you go crazy buying replacement parts, you can get a new rebranded (and metal) Iwata on amazon for less than $30. You'd need a hose and an air source, but then you'd be good to go. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B002KJDXHQ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The basic way an airbrush works is it blows air past the paint port bringing some into the brush with suction. It's mixing (inside in this model) then blows out the nozzle. There's a dual action control on the top of it - the black lever thing. Push it down for airflow, move it back to increase the amount of paint. You can test by shooting water through to make sure everything is working.

    It's an airbrush?

no luck finding a manual, but i did find a really detailed review that should do the trick. to answer the paint question, it looks like you plug the paint pot into one of the two ports you're pointing to and plug the other one. I think that's a design feature to make it righty/lefty friendly. https://sites.google.com/site/donsairbrushtips/testors-aztek http://www.gremlins.com/kitbuilders/airbrush.html

    Babes III by Bombshell Miniatures

There's 2-3 of the models I'm interested in so far. Right now, either I get a bunch of dupes or I wait until retail. It'll be later, but I'm certainly not hurting for things to paint for the next lifetime or so. I've got this on wait and see for now.
  16. I took a spare gramma bone minis for this experiment. Tamiya white putty doesn't seem to have any bad reactions with the bones material, but it doesn't adhere well. Light pressure with a fingernail is sufficient to remove the cured product from bones. Bones' flexibility is also enough that it's not hard for the cured product to pop out of the gap you were trying to fill. I don't recommend tamiya white putty for bones. [edited for clarity]

    Reaper Bones 3: Post-Kickstarter Discussion

Can you keep us appraised at what impact Hanjin filing for bankruptcy is expected to have? It sounds like many consumer goods shipping from China to US may be affected. http://www.wsj.com/articles/troubled-hanjin-shipping-to-sell-healthy-assets-to-rival-1472611190?mod=trending_now_2
  18. Has anyone tried using Tamiya white putty for gap filling on bones? It's designed for plastic models, but I'm concerned that the lacquer base of the putty might melt the bones plastic into some toxic cloud.

    Base Boss by Reaper

Hmm, 74050 is 51mm top, 55mm bottom. That should probably work correctly for Infinity 55mm. Nice!

    Base Boss by Reaper

I was noticing a lack of 55mm bases. But the only thing I use that size for is some Infinity models. It's really a hugely oddball size in my experience. Is there something else that uses 55mm ?

Shipping day is still not here. Maybe I should box up all my unpainted bones from I and II and dump those over me. I'm patient, but still my inner toddler isn't.

    Reaper Bones 3: Post-Kickstarter Discussion

For regrets, I offer some cold logic: Are you likely to have completely painted your first set of Blackstar Corsairs by the time they're available retail?
