  4. No one has mentioned my favorite black - Deadly Nightshade, but it is really a purplish black. ItIt has already been said but if you are looking for an untinted black then I would go with Pure Black or Solid Black. Dragon black works also but I have had very little experience with it and it is designed for reaper bones. Oh and lastly, you are not wasting anyone's time here. We all love this hobby and are glad to answer any questions you have. This is Reaper Peeps are the best!
  5. Has anyone heard any rumors about the t-shirts for this year?
  6. I have done a horrible job of promoting it this year but I plan to attempt it again. Anyone interested? What: World Wide Miniatures Day 2017 When: July 22nd (ish) – I say (ish) cuz it’s flexible. If you can’t do it this day, do the next day, or the day after. This event is designed to be fun and inclusive to everyone as much as possible. Where: Your place, your friendly local game store, your paint club, or where-ever you like. What: This is the fun part. WWMD is a celebration of this hobby we love while enjoying sharing our obsessions with others who can truly understand. Also to bring in new people to the wonder and engrossing pastime. How: We celebrate it by doing anything related to the hobby. Anything! Some activities include: Painting, cleaning, prepping, priming, purchasing, trading, reading about, watching videos, organizing, talking about, driving to and from your FLGS, teaching classes, researching, playing games with miniatures, planning miniature game, building a gaming table, paint rack, display case, basing miniatures, collecting basing materials, writing posts or articles, photographing miniatures, constructing sentences with the word miniature in them. Really ANYTHING that can be connected back to this hobby. Cost: Just your sanity Motto: No rules. No Prizes. No regrets. Why: Really? You have read this far and you are asking why? The simple answer is – because we can and we should. Why not? Special Challenges Marathon Challenge: Can you do something miniatures related for 24 hours taking breaks only to eat and go to the bathroom? This challenge is for you. It is based on the honor system but it would be really cool to post pictures of your work in progress. Half Marathon Challenge: Same as the marathon only its 12 hours. 5K Challenge: 5 hours – you get the idea. Complete any of the above challenges and pm me your address and I will send you a ribbon. How cool is that?
  7. Don't forget to PM your address so I can send you a ribbon if you participated.
  8. I think I'm gonna try for the marathon but I may only get to the half. Gonna start tonight at midnight PST.... I'm kind of excited.... :) I will try to post on my blog every hour or so.... Never know..... good luck everyone..... :)
  9. @TGP you can make them aware and thus it will happen.
  10. Hi all, Just a reminder that the 2nd annual 24 hour painting marathon is fast approaching this July for anyone who wants to test their metal on this. Its a celebration of all things miniatures! ANY activity that envolves miniatures is welcome. This Years Details: Event: 2nd Worldwide Painting Day Date: the weekend of July 11,12th (or any other day you can work in during July) Time: Any time during this weekend (or any other day you can work in during July) Place: Wherever you are Who: YOU! Here are some details from last years crazyness! Event: Worldwide Painting Day Date: July 12th, 2014 Time: Any time during this day Place: Wherever you are Who: YOU! The rules are as follows (I added one this year): 1) There are no rules. (they're more like guidelines, really...) 2) Fun must be experienced at some point during your day of creating. 3) Feel free to start and stop whenever you want. Some are challenging themselves to 12 or 24 hour painting binges; this is not required, but let us know if you do this (so we know who the crazy ones are ). 4) post some pictures during the event if you can. Pictures are fun This will be the first of (hopefully) many days where we gather together as miniature painters to paint! Sculpting, basing, conversion and any other hobby-related activities are welcome as well. :D The "24 hour" part of the title can either refer to the fact that this will be over a 24 hour period, OR you could take it to mean that you paint for 24 straight hours. The definition is left up to you. The rules are as follows: 1) There are no rules. And a link to last year.
  11. THere is always this for a switch. I one for my hair dryer so I don't have to put down the mini.
  12. I didn't see anyone mention these for mixing so I though I would add to to the fun. I use the plastic food cups from Smart and Final. They come in long sleeves of 100 for about $2. You can just mix the paint and toss them when you are finished. You can also recycle them if you like.
  13. Made it home safely -- tsa searched by suitcase and I thought that I lost by "Jackass Jeff" badge but I found it tucked in a pocket. whew!
  14. I'm still at work but I can't wait to get on the plane tomorrow! Oops I think I peed a litter there from excitement...
  15. This time next week I will be at the meet and great.... I can wait! Oh crud I only have one more weekend to finish my entries.... Why am I typing or at work? I gotta call in sick! I will never finish! ha ha ha
  16. I'll have world wide miniature day ribbons. Im trying to make WWMD a thing. :)
  17. I am working on this for reapercon and I am looking for some suggestions to make the symbols pop. Here is a closer look at them. Any suggestions for this or other things you don't like about the paint job would be greatly appreciated. The plan is to have to add a cape with some freehand incorporating the symbols and a skull to keep the theme going. Thanks! Max
  18. I was envisioning it as a sort of magical/ unworldly type of armor. Although some corrosion would be nice... hummm
  19. So just wonder how many pictures you take of each miniature to get one that you like. Me? I take about 10-12 before I'm satisfied.
