If you have a fine bladed razor saw, that would probably be the way to go. Yeah, the bust was the only resin piece. I haven't tried fitting any of the other figures together yet. The bust requires some putty work to smooth out joints and I had one very small air bubble to fill. I also chose to do some re-sculpting to enhance the fur detail around the pour stubs after they got cleaned up. It takes some pretty delicate cleanup to get the mold seams squared away.

Sprue? On mine they're cast with the arm & hand, which is why they broke during shipping since the only connection was the bridge between the lenses. Did they start doing something different with yours?

Got my figures yesterday. Most were printed in a translucent blue color. The Princess Bride figures are solid white, and the Fighting Girlfriend is in grey resin. The only downside I can see is that the legs are TINY on these guys and they have no base attachment runners so you're gluing very small feet to a base, and there's really no realistic way to drill and pin them. Washed them last night and I'm hoping to get started painting them this weekend. I want to try and get the Princess Bride pair done for my anniversary in a couple of weeks.

    Greebo Alastoran (Chaos/Khorne) football team

I tried to pledge on the first day and got tired of all the web site issues. Went in today and had no problems (other than finding way too many things to spend money on).

I just got my email this morning! Woohoo!

    Cigar Box Battle Mats

Yeah, they're nice because you can put terrain on top of them, or underneath. They're oversized enough that you've got a pretty good amount of overhang, so if you want to put hills and stuff underneath, it doesn't pull the mat up over the edges of the table, and they're soft enough to conform well, unlike the vinyl ones.

I like that as an excuse though! "Honey the dragon was only $1.48, how could I resist"!

How likely is it that new human sized bones will get remolded and cast in metal? I'm conscious of having metal figures redone in Bones, but I'm not aware of any instances were the reverse is true. It may just be that I haven't been paying attention though...
  11. When was this? Heath was flying F-111's when I was at Mildenhall from 83-85. They had A-10s out at Alconbury and a few other bases back then. I remember being on a a train one time and watching a pair of A-10s do a low level approach, hopping over the trees and back down, until they popped up and did a 'strafing' run down the length of the train. :)

Well, counting each of the pieces in the Modern Scenics as a 'figure', and breaking out the barge as eight pieces, that puts me at 277 figures @ $1.48/ea. Trying to be good and resist getting any more of the Expansion sets (although I REALLY want the dinosaurs)!

Computer Numerical Control. Given what it takes to work with the stuff, I was surprised that the Titanium was NOT the most expensive option!

Got my figures today - woohoo! Somehow I hadn't realized quite how big the freaking bust was going to be! I've attached a picture with a comparison between it, a Young Miniatures 1/10 scale one, and a Scale 75 bust from the Steampunk KS they ran a while back. I think I'm going to need some bigger brushes!

Scenic Grass Tufts and Flowers Kickstarter

Couldn't make up my mind, so I went all in. Good news is I shouldn't have to buy any more tufts for a while! Bad news is the smoking hole where my CC used to be!
  17. They now have a miniatures only pledge level for those who want the core set of figures without the game.

    Bombshell Miniatures Doom Bunny +1

Speed painted to send off to a Niece who really like rabbits. Hopefully she likes these! Doom Bunny from Bombshell Miniatures: and a Vorpal Bunny. I've had these guys for a very long time. Made of resin. Came in a bag with about a dozen or more in it. Long forgotten who manufactured them: Sorry for the pics! Finished the wash on the Doom Bunnies Axe and then snapped a few quick pics before packing them up to go in the mail.

Astrid, Female Chronicler as Grace Desirap - by Cyr

What is this fun of which you speak? We're supposed to have FUN while painting? Interesting... I love the pain job on this. Her face turned out particularly nice. Those eyes must have been 'fun' to paint!

Well, she is a teenager, so hopefully won't freak her out too bad...

    Another set of Space Mouslings

    That turned out awesome!
  22. I like the work you're doing! Are you aware that Bad Squiddo out of England has an assortment of Russian Female troops? I have all of them they've come out with so far and they're quite nice. :)

Chibi Capsule Magical Girls & Monsters

Failed my Will save and backed. Going for the two Mariya's (for my Soviet BA army), Pirate & Princess (for the wife & I), Corgi Guard (for my Niece who loves Corgis) US4G1 (for a different Niece who loves rabbits) & the Open Mocker (for the wife for all the AD&D Online ones we've dealt with). Would love to pick up more, but funds are limited right now.
  24. I have a shipping notice and, in theory, I will have my cases by Friday. We'll see how it goes.
