    SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT...

I really hope the money raised will be enough to help Mr.Weibe out. Anyway, put my order in for one.
  2. Have to say I’m quite liking some of these halflings: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2052977442/halflings-and-fantasy-friends?ref=project_build# Just a few pics of some of the minis and concepts. A lot more are on the kickstarter site. Curiously, no women folk though.
  3. Nice work but I can’t help but feel you’ve chosen the wrong colours.

Halflings and fantasy friends. By TTCombat

I’m worried this has passed the point of: ”Maybe it’s time you stopped adding more and more to the Kickstarter and instead start double checking on your plans for manufacturing and fulfilling everything you’ve already promised to your backers before you get in over your head.” Cause that can happen.
  6. The guide arm for steadying the brush is a good idea, but I’ve already several of the Citadel handles in the two sizes available so I think I’m good. Plus this seems a bit pricey to me for what it is.

Randomness XIV: THE FLOOR IS LAVA!

Every Christmas when I was a kid we’d get a parcel from my Grandmother and my Aunt in Europe. The gifts to me always included some HO scale buildings and maybe a piece of rolling stock and accessories like people, animals, and trees. Faller and Triang were who made most of them. I remember sitting and watching my parents together at the breakfast counter in our kitchen assembling the buildings. They’d be there for hours at a time. They really enjoyed it. So did I though I was never allowed to help. My Dad built a simple layout on a table he made out of mdf and wood legs. It was about the size of a ping pong table but much much lower, so that a very young child could stand next to it and watch. He painted the whole board a light green. Painted some lines for the roads, painted the people clothes primary colours of either red, blue, or yellow and after wiring up all the buildings for lights, glued everything down. It was very simple and plain by today’s standards. But it was a hit with me and my friends. The year I was finally allowed to drive my Hot Wheels around on the table was a BIG deal. There’s no question that’s where my love of miniatures started.

Randomness XIV: THE FLOOR IS LAVA!

This is why most of my minis are unpainted. I like to leave how they could look to the imagination. Yep. That’s why.

    80's Kids

I see they’re sculpted by Philip Hynes of Bears Head miniatures. Have to say he’s a sculptor I’m keeping an eye on. He does excellent animal sculpts and his kids sculpts are very characterful.

    Unpainted Minis from Wizkids

I like their upcoming stone giant. Not a fan of the hill or the other giant. Same with the dragons.

Early Snow, Female Witch from Dark Sword Miniatures

As other have said that green looks great. It looks like a big comfy flannel cloak.

    Atlantis Miniatures - Dwarf Gladiator

Good looking paintwork. Not familiar with the maker but that’s a nice sculpt too.

Randomness XIV: THE FLOOR IS LAVA!

Warploque Miniatures has done a few different versions of this explorer over the years.

Randomness XIV: THE FLOOR IS LAVA!

When I took my Dad to the model train show last month the lady at the entrance table gave my Dad... and I... the seniors discount.

    The Adventurers

Some interesting ideas but the sculpt quality seems like a bit of a mixed bag to me.

    Congrats on finally getting it.

    Stonehaven Dwarves Vol. 2

Her and the two in the upper left strike me as the most interesting of the five.

    The Caravan by JoeK Minis

This looks like a fun quirky boutique piece. Pigs and Dwarves! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1113411001/the-caravan?ref=project_build
  20. The FLGS is across the street from where I work. My wallet only sees my money for a very short walk.

    StoneHaven Adventurers 2018

For the StoneHaven fans out there or for those who have yet to discover them.
  23. Kickstarter is Live and has reached the initial funding level: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1744629938/star-saga-the-sci-fi-dungeon-crawler?ref=nav_search From the Mantic Newsletter: "Star Saga: The Eiras Contract will see players guide a team of space mercenaries on a mission to retrieve stolen data plans from a research facility orbiting a far-off alien world. Players will take on platoons of minions, powerful alien bosses and be forced to make difficult choices as the story takes unexpected twists and turns. The spiritual sequel to Dungeon Saga, Star Saga introduces newly improved and stronger rulesets, 'learn as you go' rules for new players and, more detailed, advanced mechanics for seasoned gamers." If it wasn't for Mantics long history of fulfilment issues/delays/changes I'd be tempted by this. It sounds like the game I've been waiting for. Instead I'll likely just keep an eye on the Kickstarter and consider buying at retail.
