    Talisman 4th Edition Minis

Here's another batch of Talisman 4th Edition mini's. These have been great models to practice on, but good grief the production quality is bad. Also still having trouble figuring out how to take decent pictures. Was having problems with them being too dark, now I'm going the other direction. Thief Monk Warrior Elf

    Gamer Cake Topper

I've made quite a few different cake toppers for some of the videogame fans out there. A lot of them prefer to feature the bride and groom holding videogame controllers or such, but sometimes we go a bit further. Here are a few cake toppers featuring elven bride and grooms that I've really come to enjoy. As with all the cake toppers I've made, these are completely custom built and customizable- the couple chose the poses and all the details.
  3. Well in light of my February goals to finish her up, I'm calling Ami abandoned err.... Finished! I liked the model and started her as soon as she came in the mail. I decided I to use her as a test color for the huntress model from knight models I plan to paint later this year. She is not the best piece I have done but I had fun painting her. Know I'm debating getting a second model to put her in a more urban setting, someday. I even came up with a backstory in my head as I painted her (anyone else do that?). Well here is the result of my work on Amiryth Elmlighter Thanks for looking and any C&C you feel the need to leave. PS: Though I noted some how she got several white splatters from somewhere. I might go back someday and fix it, but with so many models calling me to paint, probably not.

    Merryn Elmshadow (Reaper)

Merryn Elmshadow, Female Elf Thief (Reaper SKU 2590) is a classic Sandra Garrity sculpt. Other than the studded leather, I really enjoyed painting this one.

    77036: Devona, Female Wizard

Funny how at an early stage of painting things get really messy, then eventually come together. This is where I'm at now, having come from this: which is a photo of the metal version, though the one I'm painting is plastic. The details survived surprisingly well for a first-generation Bones casting. I wanted to get this started before I was too far along and just shot with my built-in webcam that does not like to shoot macro. Better photos when I don't feel so rushed. I feel I might be oversharing a fair bit here.
  6. So on my quest to finish up this set of four elves, I just completed the sea elf last night. I don't say this too often, but I think I'm really glad the way this one turned out, at least colorwise, as I was using a very limited color palette and was using sea-oriented colors that Reaper makes, like Seafoam Blue, Marine Teal, Clouded Sea, which are paints that I bought a while back but really haven't taken advantage of. With this color scheme in mind I may very well try to do some other aquatically themed figures in the near future. Now out of this set 11-422 from way back in the day I've got one more figure left, a drow assassin, who will be up next as soon as I finish him.
  7. So a while back Master Buglips and I were talking about this set of old Ral Partha figures, and I've finally found some time to work on them. The set itself has two archers, a drow elf and a sea elf. I've got the two archers finished, so I'll post these now, and hope to have the other two elves done soon. The female archer I tried to do with a wood elf vibe and the male elf with more of a high elf color scheme in mind. Hopefully you guys enjoy!

    Well-Prepared Elf: 14015, Niriodel

Clearly an experienced adventurer. Niriodel is prepared for anything. He's got his bedroll, his healing potion, a pouch full of snacks, a handy mug, and of course his weapons... Funny thing: I actually had not realized this guy was supposed to be a cleric when I painted him... I don't think I saw a holy symbol on him anywhere, for instance. But I like this figure because of all the little details on the mini. The expression on the face is fun too. :-)
  9. Dilvish the Deliverer

    Stonehaven Elf Mage

Next up is one of the better figure that I have painted of late. I painted this figure up to represent a wizard for Frostgrave. As this particular figure has a Native American vibe to it, I went with buckskins fo the clothing. All buckskin was too bland for her male counterpart so I added the blue to her outfit to help break it up. I carried over the blue to her eyes, the crystal on the staff and the gem in her circlet. I like how the hair came out. I kept messing up her left eye and finally gave up when it didn't look too bad. (believe me it looked plenty worse before).
  10. Dilvish the Deliverer

    Stonehaven Elf Wizard

The counterpart to the female Elf Mage I posted earlier. I actually painted him first and I went with the whole buckskin treatment. I'm not too happy with how it came out. I tried a wash to give it some depth, but I should have just went in and shaded and highlighted. But that's what experiments are for. This figure suffered so that the Elf Mage would be better.
  11. A buddy of mine played his first ever session of D&D a few weeks back. He's talked about it at work (by buddy I mean one my bosses) quite a bit, and is really excited about playing again. At his first session, there were some experienced players that all had minis. He asked them where they were from, and from I could gather, they were mostly Pathfinder and D&D prepainted minis. Since Christmas is right around the corner, and he's been a great boss - and friend - I decided to paint something up for him. His character, an Elven Ranger, uses a special bow. I had this piece on my bench, primed and ready to go, so it seemed fitting. He was ecstatic when I delivered the piece to him today. Hope you like it! As always, C&C is welcomed. CAH

    Grenadier Wood Elf

This is an old Grenadier wood elf from their 'Fantasy Warriors' line. I rescued him from the melt table at Reapercon and finished him up last night. I tried to do some freehand tattooing on his arms; I'm not too sure what I think of how they came out. More practice needed, I think.

    Drow Sheriff - Paizo

Another model rescued from my friends trash bin. It was in a blister pack bubble with a monkey, no label and other than the 2005 paizo marking on the bottom of the base, no other clues as to were it came from. I thought that was extremely odd, a drow with a monkey. After some heavy google fu, I finally figured out that it was a model from what appears to be Paizo's 1st line on minis. He went along with a module story of some sort where is was listed as the "Evil Sheriff." Not a whole lot of detail and after I primed him, far less. I did what I could with him and being my first drow paint up, happy.
  14. I finally got around to taking show-off photos of my ReaperCon entries. I had quite a few so I will not be posting them all at once. First up is one of my entries in the Painter's category. I had three entries in this category and this was the one chosen for judging. She is the Wood Elf Goddess from Dark Sword. She is the start of a tradition for me to enter the Dark Sword freebie from the ReaperCon swagbag into the contest the following year, she was the one from 2015. I pictured her in the ruins of a building that the forest has reclaimed and I used ruins from Morland Studios that I roughed up a little. I made the tree out of wire and Vallejo's plastic putty and while it is not perfect, it was my first tree. I am still not happy with the foliage but it was the only kind I had and when I realized it, it was too late to get a different color in time. I had issues with the feathers and major issues with the gem on the staff but the green cloth turned out exactly how I wanted. Also I think this is my best skin to date. She got me a Silver medal and I received great feedback from both Rhonda Bender and Jessica Rich. Any feedback from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

Wedding Miniatures of a different sort.

You are invited to the Wedding of Turg, Half-Orc Monk, to Dara Silverleaf, Elven Druid of the Summer Canopy, on {Insert Date Here}. But Seriously, In my F2F D&D game one of the PCs is going to be getting married...to another PC!! So, to commemorate this, I have painted Minis for the Players of said PCs for the Wedding event! And here they are... Turg is being represented by a Stylish Orc Mini from a very small Kickstarter by Ekmel Sword Miniatures out of Malta, IIRC. Dara is being represented by the Dancer Mini from the Pathfinder Battles Minis line From Piazo and WizKids. It is Out of the Rusty Dragon Inn Set. I have, of course, Repainted it in more appropriate colors. Both minis have Custom Made bases, too. GF

    Legolas

Another figure from the Thanksgiving paint binge. This is a metal Games Workshop LOTR figure I got in a box of random stuff. I don't know the model number or what set he comes from (if any). I sawed off his original base so I could mount him on one that is the same in style as my other LOTR figures. Painted him in an autumnal color scheme, which turned out to be pretty close to the box art, except for my bright Pumpkin Orange cloak.

    03140: Ollamiel, Male Sea Elf

Well after what seems like forever I have returned to painting stuff. Has been a huge couple of months. I bought and moved into a house, started a new job and lost my Dad to cancer. Kind of put the kibosh on painting. Didn't help I also screwed my arms up moving in. Anyhoo on the weekend decided to start on finishing everything that has been sitting around while I went back and forth between my old home in Sydney and new place in Goulburn. The sea elf was first cab off the ranks. For some reason came out a little fuzzy. Am thinking might need to get new camera.
  18. Sorry for the 'batch' aspect, but... it is indeed a batch submission of some of the last pieces coming out of the production line for Septembre and October. I couldn't really decide which one to post so here you go :)
  19. Are there any miniatures that could blend in in a KoW army? Mantic elves are ridiculously thin while still quite tall, which makes everything else seem obese when standing side by side. I would like at least some characters to differentiate my army as Mantic's choice is very limited. I don't mind some kit bashing as long as its relatively simple (head and weapon swaps, resculpting capes). The dark elves and some elves look close, but hard to say without seeing them side by side. https://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/bones%20elf/sku-down/77205#detail/IG_4693_1

    77066: Shaeress, Dark Elf Queen

I know she is not painted as a DARK elf lol I play mostly elves. Second paint job, here is first ---> http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/71409-77370-troll-slayer-sophie/ any advice is appreciated. My main issue I feel is eyes, however, I like the ones here much better again poor lighting and picture taking
  22. After a recent attempt at a one-shot with premade characters, I realized I didn't have any painted Elf Wizards. Such an iconic combo to not have! So I fixed that:

  24. Final pics of my most recent commission piece "Daylor Incandenza" the Elf fighter to be used by a friend of the client who commissioned me in their upcoming pathfinder game. I was given some guidelines and requests to be more customized: 1) Fall Color scheme 2) Basing as dungeon 3) Tabletop+ for use at the table and display when not played with 4) Seal nicely (sealed 3x) 5) Swap dagger for a longsword Figure: Elladan, Elf Manufacturer: Reaper SKU #02543 Material: Metal Sculptor: Werner Klocke WIP Thread Anyhow, here we go. C&C are welcomed and appreciated!

    77203: Alastriel, Elf Sorceress

I painted this up yesterday evening. I'm pretty happy with it overall but there's a lot of nit picky things that I would adjust, which I might go back and do later. It's for one of husband's RPG campaigns so it needed to be done ASAP. I got my light box but it's missing a piece so until it shows up I'm stuck with not so great cell phone photos. This was my first attempt at subtle makeup. I'm not even sure if you can really see it in the photo though. I'm happier with the eyes than I usually am, hopefully this means I'm getting a little better at it. Comments and advice are greatly appreciated.
