  1. Pingo

    Mousling Ranger, 77289

This is one of six Mouslings I've painted out of the ten new ones from the Bones II Kickstarter. I'm a little ambivalent about the "girly" Mouslings with the bosoms and the hair and the feminine accoutrements. I prefer to think of the Mouslings overall as general-purpose, could be boys or girls. Anyhow, this one, like the rest of them, has fun and not too fiddly details. WIP thread here. Other painted Mouslings: 92743, Archer (Robin Hood), 92744, Druid, 92746, Thief, 92747, Beekeeper, 92749, Assassin
  2. This is one of the new Bones Mouslings from Reaper's second Kickstarter. I painted up six (out of ten) of them for a campaign. Two of them are archers. This one is sculpted up like a tiny Robin Hood. WIP thread here. Other painted Mouslings: 92744, Druid, 92745, Archer (squire), 92746, Thief, 92747, Beekeeper, 92749, Assassin
  3. This is one of six Mouslings from the Bones II Kickstarter that I have painted up as characters. This is a druid with an orb on a staff and the tiniest chibi frog imaginable on top. WIP thread here. The other Mouslings: Thief, Beekeeper, Assassin, Ranger (with Bow), Archer (Robin Hood)
  4. So I'm painting up some of the Bones II Mouslings to be used as ship's crew and NPCs in a fairly weird game. These aren't all of them. There's also a mouse king and queen (with pointy hat with veil), a samurai, and a classic wizard, all nice but not quite for my purposes. To be honest, I have mixed feelings about the buxom little "girl" mice. I prefer to think of all Mouslings as something you'd have to be a mouse to tell the difference, like in real life. But gosh, they are cute. At the moment I am referencing real mice for coloring. One Mousling is going to be black, one white, and four a kind of mousy brown. There will probably be some variation on this. Here the six I'm doing are, cleaned up and washed with Reaper's Brown Liner, and a bit of paint added to the white mouse. Here the basic colors of the fur are blocked in and I've painted their tails and ears pink. Black mice seem to have a slightly darker pink, but on the whole all mice seem to have delicate pink tails and ears. Real mice have tiny, pink, handlike feet, while the Mouslings have more teddybear-like paws. I am compromising by painting their fingers and toes pink.

    03542: Mousling Thief

HI all! I'm just getting round to posting some photos from ages ago. C&C welcome.

    03633 Mousling Bartender

Morning all (or at least it's morning here in Maine). I finally got around to painting a Mousling, and I might be hooked! This little fellow took less than an hour, not including his base, but I was pretty pleased with the results. I love his mildly-grumpy expression: this is one barkeep who doesn't want to hear about your problems. Thanks for looking!

    01526: Madame Gorgonzola

Totally awesome little sculpt. I painted her up to include with the Mice and Mystics project I did before Christmas, but am only now getting around to posting her. I'm very pleased with what is really only a three-to-four hour paint job (though the time is why there's no OSL; if I ever have another one of her to paint, there will be...). I was trying for "blind" with the eyes, there are white pupils that just aren't apparent in the photo. The base is painted to match the other heroes in the M&M set. As ever, C&C are welcome and appreciated.
  8. Well there are a couple parts I just finally went "okay that's as good as I can get it" A bit shiny for one thing. But mostly I'm really happy with her. This is for my sister in law.

    01549: The Headless Mousling

First completion of the year! Woohoo. Okay, so I started it last year, but still... A really fun figure to paint.

    Darksword Anthros to Mouslings

Some day in the far distant future, we're going to do a mousling campaign. Right now I have all the mouslings availble from reaper, as well as the LJC minis, so I know how they all scale to each other. But I'm thinking that in this far off campaign we'll need other critters. Darksword makes cool critters (seaturtle pirate!). However, darksword doesn't have anything in their pictures to indicate scale. Aside from one picture that compares the big badger to a fox. Not that helpful when you don't know how big the fox is in the first place. Anyway, does anyone here have some of the Darksword critters and could maybe post pictures with some reaper minis (mouslings would be best) so I can get an idea of how big they are? I'm specifically wanting any of their turtles, the owl mage , possum, guinea pigs, squirrel, or mice. I have a frog, so I don't need those so much. Soooo much cuteness~
  11. First up, Victoriana from Bombshell miniatures. I want to thank those who gave me advice in this thread http://www.reapermini.com/forum/index.php?/topic/50314-bombshell-victoriana-need-color-advice/?hl=victoriana. Obviously I went with purple dress in a muddy outdoorsy scene. Then I finally managed to finish 2 mouslings that had been sitting there almost completed since 2011.... Finally some speedpainted bones, less than 2 each on paintjob for vampire chick and innkeeper, about an hour for miss strumpet. Edited to add SKU to title and added more tags Thanks for looking!

    Mouseling Wizard

Part of 03529 sculpted by Gene Van Horne. Constructive criticism and suggestions welcomed. I've been postponing starting this mouseling because of the difficulty of tight spaces. I've become more adept at using a long brush with a tiny amount of paint on the tip to reach hard-to-reach places without smearing what is already done, but it was still a trial that took a number of fixings. My image of this mouseling was the wizard Radogast from the books of Lord of the Rings (not that shown in the Hobbit movies, much as I love Sylvester McCoy) but couldn't really fit a forest and cute creatures on his base. We are left with soil (reaper muddy brown with Citadel sepia and earth shades), grass (Army Painter battlefields wilderness tuft 4mm) and autumn leaves (Secret Weapon Fallen Leaves Fall colors). I felt the 'staff' was much too thick for him to carry, and that it must be a way-marker. (Does anyone else make up little back stories for their characters?) Radogast is very much looking out from under his hat, so I've included a shot of him tipped back to see his face more clearly. This is photographed using a home-made light box and my nice macro lens. It did take a while to get the balance of light and f number correct. Apologies that its not all in focus.
  13. I started this lil project last year, (for Easter), shelved it and didn't get back to it till just before Christmas. If you are wondering about the base...it is the bottom half -there is a matching Swarovski crystal encrusted egg top for it, (ala Faberge). It's just a lil too heavy for the hinge I made, so I had to take photo with it off. So I guess I'm early for Easter for this year. I took 8+ months off from painting but I've been trying to delve back in...hopefully have some more finished soon. C & C welcome. (I know his eyes look a lil twitchy -but it was the photo angle, try and see if I can take it again, straighter on)
  14. Heya I was wondering if Reaper will be releasing Halloween figures? A new Halloween Sophie perhaps or a new mousling set? I want to run a local paint contest now that I am back in my FLGS area and the prizes are usually the new Halloween figures.. Any info would be spectacular! :)

    03522 - Mousling Trio

Just starting to get back into painting, and thought I would start with some minis I've had sitting since my first Reaper order. Hope you like em, C&C welcome.

    Bad Reaper, BAD!

I am very upset with you Reaper. I did not know until 6 hours ago that there was a 2012 convention mousling out there that I did not have. That is not polite in the least! You need to let me know these things. You see, I have to have all the mouslings. This isn't a want. This is a basic need, like air, water, and chocolate. I simply MUST have them all. But I can't go to ReaperCon, so I have to find my mouslings online for much inflated prices later. But I can't do that if you don't tell me that you made them!!! From now on I expect to be informed of all mouslings, convention exclusives or otherwise. If not I'll have to sic my Bryan and Jason on you, and they create all sorts of havoc where they go. Really, let's just keep this nice and professional, yes?
