  1. Happy Birthday, Tre!!!!
  2. I know, bad shots, but someone reminded me I should do something for Orctober. So, here's Jadeah, already assembled and primed, but started after dinner.

    Zombies, Red Box Games

My take on the Red Box Games zombies. They're painted with a generous amount of quickshade, gore and trying to follow this tutorial (but not with the patience or skill required to get the same result:). The first eight was painted some time ago. The rest 10 I recently finished.
  4. Here's an orc I put up in the WIP forum a while back. He was primarily an experiment in skin tone, but I'm really happy with the way his belly armor turned out, too.

    Llwellyn Softstrider, Red Box Games

My version of Llwellyn Softstrider from Red Box Games. A great sculpt as all other minis in the RBG range. I rushed some parts (the varnishing among them) as I wanted to get it ready for the next weekend but still he turned out nicely.

    Wraith Knights, Red Box Games

My atempt to paint the Wraith Knights from Red Box Games. I've had these for quite some time but always hesitated to put paint on them (or some other mini was infront of them in line). Kind of a quickish paintjob but I'm happy where they're at. I could spend some more time on each but I would have diminishing returns. So they're finished and I'm moving on to the next batch! I notice that some of the figures collected some dirt sometime efter varnishing. Perhaps I'll go back and fix them sometime, but for now I'm leaving them as they are.

Robert of Carlistle Wall, Red Box Games

This is Robert of Carlistle Wall from Red Box Games and I'm quite happy with how he turned out. He's one of the RBG miniatures that I've been intimidated into not painting. But since he's apart of my 2015 goals I forced myself to begin. He's one of many Aenglish (the fraction) minis I'm set to paint and I hope to reuse the paint scheme to create some cohesion between the miniatures. I'd like to thank Marsya for tips on the color scheme.

    Edele of Aelfheim: RBG

Work In Progress for RBG: Edele of Aelfheim By Tre Manor This miniature was a commission for my D&D group. I added the flowers as an afterthought but am thoroughly pleased how they came out. I'm getting better with static grass but not where I want to be. Going to do more research. I just had to call it with this piece or I would have never got it done. It turned out well but not as well as I would have liked. I was continuing a new technique I did with a previous miniature. This is the third John (Tre) Manor Sculpt I have painted. I'm fond of his style. Thanks everyone! C&C Welcome! Don't forget to check out my blog - Iron Bristle Studios - for my complete list. The link is in my signature.
  9. Another victory against my unpainted pile, this is Belegast the Bloodthirsty (the new version). I'd like to thank uber_n3rd, Jasonator and Guindyloo for the feedback I recieved in the wip thread.

Rollo the Barbarian, Red Box Games

Been a while since I've had something to post here! I give you the barbarous Rollo, sculpted by Tre Manor: My first attempt at TMM! Hope you enjoy, WIP was on my blog at cashwiley.com.

Rollo the Fellhanded, Red Box Games

This is Rollo the Fellhanded from Red Box Games. I notice now that the pictures contain quite alot of white dots, that's because I did a poor job with the spray on matt varnish. It usually looks much better but on this figure I failed to get a even spray :/ Also the face got abit to much so I had to sort of fix it. It wasn't a master piece before but I do think it looked abit better. But varnishing mistakes aside I'm fairly happy with how he turned out.

    RBG: Edele of Aelfheim

Edele of Aelfheim by Tre Manor -Elf After a swift polish of this figure I Greenstuffed it on the base. I'm very pleased with the way it came out. I got to work on this one so quick I didnt get many WIP shots in but I am not finish with her yet. I also got some hair highlights! What do you think? And here is one i with a little more shading!

Woldvagner the Elder, Red Box Games

Woldvagner the Elder from Red Box Games. I have stared to delve into my RBG collection. I'm moderately happy with how this figure turned out. I really need to work on the eyes for future RBG miniatures. I feel that something might be missing but I can't put my finger on it.
  14. Recently got painted what may've been my favorite mini from Bones 2, the adaptation of Tre Manor's Krug, Hill Giant Chiefton. Great model, my first giant, and a fun one to paint, turned out. Just tried to keep it pretty simple, I guess. Tried for white wood with the club, in my ongoing quest to get wood right/not awful. Thought the goldish metal went well on it, too. I'm always silver. Wanted a wasteland-stones-something kind of something I don't know with the base. Thanks for looking!

    03581: Kieron, Ranger

Hello, Below is my rendition of Kieron, Ranger. I've had this sculpt for a while now and finally ordered it. He only took about three hours from start to finish. Questions, comments, criticisms, and critiques are greatly appreciated. If you are interested in seeing more of my stuff here is a link to my miniature and terrain blog. http://danceswithhipposterrain.blogspot.com/ Stop by and leave some comments!

Red Box Games Helsvakt Axe Warrior

I finished another from my WIP shelf - a barbarian from Red Box Games, using the RMS Fair Skin Triad and the flesh wash. I don't really use the wash as a wash, more of a glaze over the basecoat of Fair Skin Shadow, then I blend in another layer of Fair Skin shadow before layering up from there. Hope my fellow fans of Tre's work enjoy it! Also, stuck with the yellow background for now but I hope its less distracting on this miniature since it's tones are different.

    Olsvalter the Aged: RBG

Work-In-Progress for RBG: Olsvalter the Aged by Tre Manor This miniature was a commission for my D&D group. He is standing on broken ground that is still irradiated by magic. This is the second John (Tre) Manor Sculpt I have painted. I'm fond of his style. C&C welcome

    RBG: Olsvalter the Aged

Olsvalter the Aged by Tre Manor -Norse Human I am attempting to do more work with pigment rather than glazing with inks for shading. After reading the discussion about it, I thought it would be a good idea to push myself. The base is custom with spackle, The design is done by me, although you can't see it right now. This photo is not white balanced: It looked really odd when I tried to do it... The display of the colors is accuate though. The light bits are a light shade of GW: Shadow Grey.

Long Shot Loim - Red Box Games.

This is the last of the Brigand Series by Tre Manor; Long Shot Loim served under the Duke of Norfolk, He wasn't always a scoundrel, nor a brigand. Ever since that fight in the tavern, he had been on the run. He didn't relish the thought of having another personal confrontation, so he used his other skill. He was lethal with a bow, and it kept him far enough away from his target to hear nothing. He always laid a sword at his feet, you never know if an emergency were to occur. He was smart enough to always give himself a back up. Comments and Critiques are always appreciated, and desired. I really do appreciate feed back. Jay I have added two photos of the trio of Brigands to the photo set. So here is Smarty Sean, DIrk the Ne'r Do Well, and Long Shot Loim together. Should have done that in the beginning. Here they are:

    Draugr, Red Box Games

The Draugr from Red Box Games. I absolutely love these figures! I used this tutorial for the skin and I can't help to be somewhat befuddled with how many different hues I still managed... I'm really pleased with the result. If I was to change anything it would be to stain the clothing.
  21. I've started to ignore my fear and dive into my collection of Red Box Games miniatures. Here is the warp version of Morgrimn the Mighty!

    RBG-0132 Long Shot Loim

Back into the fray again with another of Tre's miniatures. This one has some interesting texture going on in the doublet. I've primed him, did some of my standard brown liner in dark areas. I gave him a green hood for right now, it might change. Gave him a simple face for the moment. Just base coating. Beginning getting my feel of the miniature, and deciding what I want to do with him. So here is the last of the brigands, Long Shot Loim.
  23. My favorite mini of the year so far, maybe: Tre Manor's Tradkarl the Wanderer, from his Red Box Games line. Just a totally fantastic mini, wish I could've done it greater justice. Was pretty happy with the animal-skin jacket (and pants) and the fur trim. Made the log of a Bones sprue and was stupid pleased with myself. Snow on it didn't turn out like I'd hoped, though. Thanks for looking!

    Smarty Sean -Red Box Games-0129

Another of my beloved sculpts by Tre Manor. Smarty Sean is a hoot to paint. One of those one inch mini's that can drive you banana's; but a great sense of accomplishment when you get him done. As I always remark, doing high quality challenging sculpts make you grow as a painter. These are sculpts to grow by. Critiques/comments are greatly desired and solicited. So leave me a note please ! Here are some photos of Smarty Sean. I include the black and white to show how big he is visually.

    77105: Kagunk, Ogre Chieftain

I wouldn't actually post this mini if it wasn't for the RP Challege. I started this at ReaperCon 2014 for Wappel's Shaded Basecoat class. I could never motivate myself to finish it. I finally slapped some more paint on it to call it done. I am happy to have it no longer in my to do pile.
