    Cave Troll Champion (02488)

This guy was mostly done, but I got the base finished off this weekend. And here he is with his bendy friend: It's a bit hard to get the camera to focus on both of them very well. I've got two more Bones trolls to paint up, so if you've got any C&C then let me have it!
  2. This one was really quick to paint, done in a couple of hours all together last night. Look at the back -someone has spilled water on this one. Note to self: do not feed it after midnight! Black undercoat, I did the skin a dark blue and drybrushed with dark purple several shades up to pinkish purple, ditto blues on the lower ams, hands and feet. Some reds and greens here and there for effect, the boils (or whatever they are meant to be) was done in dark red followed by a dirty green and a too thin yellow (that turned green) and a too thick yellow (that was too much for the effect I wanted). Loincloth in dirty grey and brownish yellow, given a wash of Army Painter Soft Tone ink, lightened with khaki and a sickly skin tone. Claws and eyes in dirty grey and yellow with green ink for that venomous look. I think this figure would be better without the massive boils on it’s back.

So my Wednesday night pathfinder group has a father daughter combo and recently the daughter who was playing our inquistior tank stopped showing up and that left my mage tanking (granted he's got 25 ac, one hands a bastard sword and casts with the other and is medium armor) so I talked to my friend who was running the game and pitched the idea of a cleric tank and frankly he loved it (this adventure path is very undead heavy) and I decided on a variant tifling (+2con +2wis prehensile tail, spelllike ability pyromancy and dr2/coldiron) cleric with healing/fire domains. so this is my First pathfinder cleric and Holy crap the healing domain 0.o at lev 6 all cure spells are empowered so +50% to your total healing per spell, the fire domain is fun, granted power is throwing firebolts for something like 1d8+half casterlevel max 5 and access to things like produce flame fireballl.... a cleric throwing fireballs... yea i'm ok with that. With the Main idea being a Tank I originally went with the idea of full plate and a tower shield but as I was getting the character on paper It just didn't work so well, that -2 to attack rolls Hurts, going to talk to the gm about house rulling this with maybe a feet or something. So onto the part you guys are going to be interested in. the obligatory tilfling in fullplate: Vaeloth, Hellborn Paladin, I ended up grabbing a warhammer on the character but ehh small detail, I almost always use swords so I figured I would be different. so his shield is going to come off, and the tower shield will be attached to his arm, without opening the packages and playing with them I'm suspecting the only way to do is to have the shield attached lengthwise on his arm which isn't idea but. the tower shield, Pavise As you can see from this shot the shield is going to need a lot of trimming before I will be able to mount it on the miniature. Now for the fun part, my mage killed and cast animate dead on an advanced troll and created an advanced bloody troll skeleton, think the red skeletons from castlevainia they put themselfs back together after a bit. While reaper does have a Undead troll I really didn't care for it, I planning on doing a purple base coat and then light coat of green to give it a rather nasty look, I will have to fiddle with a bit i'm sure. While I'm at it I'm considering Repainting my tengu.

    02542: Bulgoth, Troll King

Here's my latest creation. The base was fashioned using some plaster moulds and green stuff to build up the cavern like appearance. Among this piece, as with most of my pieces are some new additions to my repertoire to include sculpting mushrooms from green stuff and adding a rusted appearance to a weapon. I almost did the rusting effect to the Goat Demon I finished recently, but I was so pleased with the scythe I couldn't do it. I felt like a troll king deserved a cool 'scene' to go along with the fact that he is a king. I wish the sculpt had a bone necklace or something cool and 'trophy-like' on the sculpt instead of the collar that he has. I also am a fan of older edition trolls, wherein the eye socks are mostly hollowed out (almost undead-like). I hope you like!

    Stonehaven Troll =(

So, aside from the hope that they'll add the troll to the gnome kickstarter, does anyone know where I can get this awesome troll? He's really quite impressive, and if I had known about kickstarter in July, I would have gotten in on this, but alas, I did not.

    77004: Bones Cave Troll

I painted this guy up for my DnD campeign. i have a couple of things i need to touch up(toenails are missing paint, back bottom boil flowed over when doing the wet blending, and for some reason i Dont think you can tell from the pictures, his loin cloth is super shiny. needless to say this brought about many a cod piece/loin cloth joke at my gaming table. But since they were all new players it took them a while to figure out how to get the troll to stop coming back from being mostly dead. C&C welcome!

    Bones - Ogre & Troll

These two miniatures were speed painted, about 30 minutes total brush time each, then simply glued to a 50mm base and flocked. Its not awesome work, but its fast and effective enough on the game table.
