  1. "Humans came to PK-L7 in search of high powered fuel. They found it with Xenium, a dark, oily compound deep below the planet’s surface. But they found something else too. The Xenos attack was brutal and unrelenting, and they’re still coming. On April 10 at 3pm EST, Zombicide: Invader is coming to Kickstarter. Follow the CMON and Guillotine Games Facebook pages for regular updates on the Survivors, Xenos, Equipment, and Environments of this interstellar battle for life, and look for our interview with the Zombicide: Invader design team later this week. Grab a weapon, barricade the doors, and prepare to be invaded." Zombicide:Invader is a cooperative game where 1 to 6 players face Xenos, an unfathomable swarm of infected Xenos controlled by the game itself. Each player takes on the role of 1 to 6 Survivors in a sci-fi setting being overwhelmed by these Xenos. The goal is simple: choose a Mission, complete its objectives, kill as many Xenos as possible, and (most importantly) survive! Survivors will fight Xenos, rescue each other, recover vital data, unveil dark secrets, and much more! Survivors can be Civilians or Soldiers, each with specialized Skills. They all play together as a team, trading Equipment, and covering each other. They use whatever weapons they can get to kill Xenos and slow the invasion. The better the weapon, the higher the body count, but the more Xenos will appear, attracted by the onslaught! Survivors must also be mindful of their location as conventional weapons work fine indoors, but the planet’s oxygen-starved surface, they’ll need to arm themselves with more specialized weaponry… Lasers, anyone? Most of the time, Xenos are predictable, but there are a lot of them and they use nasty tactics not encountered in previous Zombicidegames. Only through cooperation can players achieve the Mission objectives and win." - I haven't backed a CMoN kickstarter in a awhile, but I think this one might tempt me depending on what the minis and gameplay are like.
  2. Black Plague Zombies

I have been busy but not posting threads recently. I have been using a range of models to play Lions Rampant and Dragon Rampant. For this I have used a combination of Bones and other figures. As I don’t have enough archers, I have opted to use some of the add on models from the Black Plague Kickstarter. First up is the paint scheme I opted to use. The idea is they are what remains of a lords retinue hence the uniform. at present I am painting up a batch of six models. The last phot shows base colours still being applied. Further highlighting takes places prior to a wash of Agrax Earthshade. As as always comments welcome.
  3. Painted alternate Zombicide: Black Plague heroes for my nephew and niece for Xmas this year. They had borrowed the heroes for several weeks to play with on my brother's board, but I asked for them back eventually. I decided to go ahead and paint them and give them as gifts today. Thanks to whoever the genius artist was whose color scheme I copied for Persephone. I suck at paint schemes, so I almost always have to copy. Black Currant was mainly mine as I largely chose a black scheme since the pic on his card didn't have much black in it. I wanted my Black Currant to actually BE black, so I chose almost all dark coloring. I'm still a journeyman painter, so I don't usually highlight, but I experimented with highlight streaks in Persephone's hair and I thought it came out pretty well, so I'm learning. I just wish I had more time to paint.
  4. Need help painting a cloak

Journeyman painter here still struggling to paint when I don't have someone choose the colors for me. I'm trying to paint a Zombicide: Black Plague add-on hero named Black Currant, but I don't like his color choices. I want to make him mainly black so he's more worthy of his name. I want to nail the fur part of his cloak, though. I see some guy painted it with Skavenblight Dinge, but that looks to be some form of grey, to me. I'd rather it look more like fur, so I thought I'd paint it something dark and then dry brush it with something else. Anybody have suggestions or know of a good guide? Also, I'd welcome suggestions for the cloak color to go with dark black plate mail. Not really feeling the purple.
  5. Zombicide Modern Abomination

Well over Minivember I had high hopes of great accomplishments. For me that entailed finishing more than one mini, 30 hopefully. Well, I failed to achieve that. I did however manage to start and finish another Zombicide mini (more actually, but they will be in another post). He was a relatively quick paint for me, and with the idea of table top. I gave the Tamiya Clear Red a try for the blood effects. I like the effect just not execution. Well with out furthur fanfare or words and such, is my Zombicide Abomination. Thanks for any C&C you feel inspired to give.
  6. Zombicide: Black Plague Hirst Arts walls

Used mold #344 from Hirst Arts to craft walls for my Zombicide: Black Plague game to take my game 3D. Going to try it tomorrow night after we meet friends to decorate Christmas cookies with the kids.
  7. Well after watching @Rahz paint up some of his Black Plague Abominations, I decided I wanted to get started on mine. So I though I'd gather up a WIP of my Journey through all the Zombicide Abominations. Modern: Season 1, Toxic CIty Black Plague: Core (x2), Wolfsburg (x2),Rat, Alpha, Troll, Blob, and Minotaur I decided to start with the Core BP set Abominations. I also wanted to try out my scale 75 F&G Unnatural Skin set. So here is where I begun.
  8. Zombicide Season 1 Walker

Been wanting to get back into painting a mini now and again, probably nothing more than tabletop for a while. So I took a couple hours to slap some paint on this guy I had sitting on the shelf, already primed. Zombicide Season One Walker 2 Zombicide Season One Walker 2 So I think I’ve mostly forgotten how to paint minis. Didn’t help that I snagged the wrong paper for my wet palette, it was a square of tracing paper, so it was a total mess!
  9. Zombicide Walk of the Dead 2

I did a quick paint of some game pieces taking up space. I didn't do a WIP but took a few pics during, if people want to see. The cat got one of my fave pieces, the third punk. I didn't have orange paint handy, so I used yellow. The other base colors were ashen blue/rosy skin, and Brown liner. I also tried a flesh wash out of curiosity. Unlike the last set, I remembered blood, but couldn't find the nice dried blood brown color, so not as gory as planned.
  10. Troll Abomination

And here is my latest completed work. He was a quick 2 - 3 hour paintjob (purely tabletop). I see looking at these photos that I have some base mismatch between him and the rat, and there is some cleanup to do on his base (easily done).
  11. Rat Abomination

Finished him up quite awhile ago, but I never got around to posting photos. He's a quick and dirty tabletop figure for Zombicide: Black Plague.
  12. Base coat and then Army Painter quickshade. Still need to remove the gloss and then highlight.
  13. Now that summer is here and I'm not teaching anymore, I'm finally poised to finally finish my Black Plague zombies. Did three sets of seven and the abomination that I'm about to post. Fatties, male walkers, female walkers. Here are the fatties first with their base coats, then with Army Painter quick shade applied. Matte varnish to come and then highlighting.
  14. Troll Abomination

Last night I had some free time, so I decide to start on my my troll abomination. Quick and dirty, no more than 3 hours (and more like 2 probably). No mold lines were harmed during this painting. Tabletop, and I don't want to try because, well, the mold lines on these suckers are tough.
  15. Because I apparently suffer from extreme ADHD when it comes to miniature painting... squirrel!! Ahem, the following are in various stages of WIP. Everything on the blob and rat has been applied by airbrush and mostly inks and washes to this point. The Abominataur has had some brushwork done since and is nearing completion. Tried something I picked up from a French Youtuber Hutif who mixes some satin varnish in with her inks when she sprays them. Will be doing a comparison on some different models at some point to see if it's actually doing anything but it seems to be helping the ink settle into the recesses better. Applying inks/washes through the airbrush has also been neat as you spray at such a low pressure that you can get really precise. If nothing else, it was great practice. These are not meant to be works of art, just messing around and hoping to get them on the table with 3 or so hours of work each. So far, the minotaur is the farthest along has had about 2 hours total. Thanks for looking.
  16. Well I since I don't have enough WIP's going I thought I start one for my survivors. I noticed that I can manage to get through at least 4 a month. So in I plan to work on these guys when I need a break from the unDead. The first up is Josh the Thug: And the reaming 4 from the Season 1 box: And 4 more from 2 of the guest box set I picked up to round my survivors to 5/5 female/male.
  17. Zombicide Amy

I made more progress on my Zombicide Survivors. Here is number 4: Amy. I wasn't comfortable with painting up the fishnets from the artwork, so I went with lite pink. Otherwise I went for close to art work. As with my other models, I went with no blood on the survivors. Only problem is the blade couldn't be straightened perfectly, but she is for gaming, so good enough. Here is Amy: Thanks for looking and any C&C you feel like giving.
  18. So here are the first 3 (of 6). Minus the bases, I'd say I stayed close to my 3 hours per figure. The next 3 have been started and will appear in the WIP thread soon. Thanks for looking.
  19. Silvervane's Zombicide Fatties

I realized that I had not posted the results of my completed Zombicide Fatties. Well here I am to remedy that. Several photos to follow. Note that these were taken at different times and on a couple of different camera's.
  20. Zombicide Survivor Phil

I've had this guy finished since last year. I couldn't decide how to do the base so I went with a grey. If I come up with an idea I'll fix it later, but for now I call it done enough to hit the game board. I present to Survivor Phil the Cop. As a note pictures are quite as good as some in the past. I don't currently have access to camera I've been using and these were taken with my tablet.
  21. Base coat layer done. Just noticed from the close up pic that I missed a tongue on one of them. Quickshader next. Blood goes on last.
  22. Few touch ups to make and then applying the Quickshader.
  23. I haven't been posting much lately. Not sure why. But I finally finished up my Season 1 walkers. Thought I'd break my photo inertia with a group shot of them on a game board. Not my usual photo set up and not as clear as I could have wanted, but here they are.
  24. Zombicide Black Plague 63 Zombie Figures (No Necromancer, No Abomination, No Heroes) Date Range: Nov. 18th through 27th I will be prepping these miniatures so that I can begin painting after work on Friday Nov. 18th. I have taken off the entire week of Thanksgiving. Some of which will be spent with my family (24th - 26th) as my brother lives all the way across the state and we meet at my parents house every year for Thanksgiving. I will try to keep the ones I paint in the range of the 24th - 28th for the Paint Binge Challenge. As I only have 3 of the Bonus Challenge colors, I will still attempt to use them on several figures: 09279 Fresh Blood 09275 Vampiric Skin XXXXX October Pink These will be painted to tabletop specifications and I plan to use some ink washes on them as they are basic zombies. Will begin posting photos of progress on these guys on Friday the 18th. That round may not be super exciting as it will be the primer for them but it should pick up speed after that. As I usually use a ceramic tile to dry my figures on, I can already tell that is going to be an issue with these, so I will pick up a cheap cookie sheet (or two) so I can spread these guys out a bit and make it easier to move them around. I will also have to clear some shelf space as I don't currently have enough for all of these guys to fit in one location and be protected from the two cats that terrorize the house while we are away.
  25. Another recent project. more to come...
