  1. Hi Pingo! As promised, here is the raw (puppet show) booth...from your suggestion...to my art draft ideas...to the final raw execution...I think it will look very nice once it is completed! Again thanks for the idea!!! Also pictured is (1) of the (2) open air (art gallery) booths that will be on the farmers market & renaissance fair tabletop game board...The booth will feature (8) fantasy related framed paintings (pictures)...(4) to each side. The paintings featured are just to show the general appearance of what it will look like (the shown paintings may or may not be the ones selected for final placement). The booth is still in raw stage with only the 1st stain application...still some work left to do with dry brush, inks and pastels...But it gives you the idea! Booth #2 will be a smaller version that will feature (4) paintings...(2) on each side!...(Yet to be built).
  2. Posted are booth #5 (Valiant Arms), a small weapons booth & booth #6 (Kissing Booth)...also posted is a small wooden stage for the required dancing girls at such an open air event. All are part of my farmers market & renaissance fair tabletop (RPG) game board for the shire. Left to do are the addition of selected signs & standards. A member asked me to add a miniature figure to the posting of my booths...so that is the reason for the miniature figures in the photos.
  3. This is booth #5 of my open air farmers market & renaissance fair (RPG) tabletop game board...it is the (Curio Shoppe = Nick Nack Nook). The booth & boxes are all scratch built...everything was used in the creation of this boot...beads (glass & wooden), real fabric, jewelry findings, N-scale nude railroad figures to make the bronze statues, a real fire opal gemstone (just to the left of the cross)...etc. The most tedious part of working on this piece was the critical placement of each and every item so that it/they complement each other...show but obscure each other enough to make it look like " organized chaos "...as you might see at a yard sale or thrift shop today. There are a couple of other items that will be placed (after I get the awning in place)...left to do (awning cover, selected signs, standard & items after awning is in place). PLEASE ADVISE...This is the 5th booth that I have featured/posted; if it has gotten too monotonous...please advise me and I will stop posting the booths from this project...thank you!
  4. These are the nearly completed (1st three booths) of my farmers market & renaissance fair (RPG) tabletop game board,,,pictured are; 1. Beer booth (The Tin Tankard) 2. Potions/Lotions/Candles/Incense/Herbs booth (Unnamed as yet) 3. Rugs & Fabrics booth (Shags & Rags) All that is left to do is add specific signs & standards. I know that you have grown tired of seeing postings this project in the works...so this is the last posting of these booths until I start working on the board they will be mounted on. I am open to suggestions for the naming of (booth # 2).
  5. Hi Darsc Zacal! I have started construction on the (Open Air - Farmers Market & Renaissance Fair) shire game board for my (RPG) tabletop game. These are booths #1 & #2...so this is my project for the month of May. Maybe a bit longer (since at my age, I don't work as fast as I used to)! There will be around (8) such booths of varied designs (all about the same size - scale wise being about 9'x4'). All are scratch built using (Camino & Superior) scale lumber (hard wood/not balsa). The most difficult part for all the booths will be the filling of the booths with the proper items for that booth (in the proper aprox. scale)...The last photo shows the size of the booths in relation to a standard (Reaper) figure. Looking for feedback when you have the chance and time.
  6. This is posted mainly for (Darsc Zacal)...a member who suggested that I add an open air market to my (3D) shire. I think that the idea was fantastic and I will be starting work on this shire board piece in the very near future. I just wanted to let him see my art draft concept ideas for the booths that I will be building and the board will be designed as a combination idea of a farmers market & renaissance fair...I do want to give full credit to (Darsc Zacal) for the idea...thank you!
  7. This is an assortment of Grenadier (Dragon Lords) figures from the (Monster Manuscript) collection. All are quickly painted (RPG) tabletop gaming pieces. Featured are: 1. Dryad 2. Elven Hound 3. Woodwendling 4. Earth Hulk 5. Plague Ghoul 6. Fire Elemental 7. Big Mama Ogre 8. Klynops (one eye) 9. Ogre Mage
  8. This is a tabletop game play terrain piece in my (RPG) adventure game. It is a simply crossroads section that contains a small water well on top of a small hill, a roadside shrine/cross for the adventure characters and a fenced field section of crops. The piece is (16" x 12") constructed on ceiling tile base. The shrine contains a small coin pond to receive gold coin offerings from adventure characters in hopes of receiving a blessing.
  9. This is a dwarven battle squid that my adventure group can encounter on the (RPG) adventure game board; they are friendly and will help the group if they are paid enough gold...otherwise they just get drunk with my group at the overnight camp site.
  10. This is a ninja assassination/kidnap squad that work for the sinister (Fu Manchu). The adventure group has not encountered this squad in game play yet.

    Raptors...(RPG) game play pieces...

This is a raptor hunting pack. A common foe for my (RPG) adventure group. These are game play pieces (the figures are plastic) and stand about 7' tall to a standard adventure character.
  12. This is the (2nd) assortment of fantasy characters that I have painted for RPG game play. They are from back row: 1. ZEALOT FANATIC 2. CITY GUARD 3. CITY GUARD TRUMPETER 4. SISTER OF THE BLADE 5. SERVING WENCH 6. MALE CAPTIVE 7. FEMALE ADVENTURER
  13. This is a spotted wild dog pack (very much like the spotted hyena)...these creatures do not fear humans & have a taste for human flesh. These are game play pieces for my (RPG) tabletop adventures.

    Classic fantasy battle...15mm!

This is a piece from my private collection. The idea was based upon the famous art work of (St. George vs. The Dragon). I had both pieces in my old parts box. The knight is a 15mm figure from (Battle Systems) and the dragon is an old (Grenadier) piece.

    Classic fantasy battle...15mm!

This is a piece from my private collection. It is based on the famous art work of (St. George vs. The Dragon). It came about because I had both pieces in my parts box.The knight is a 15mm knight from (Battle Systems) and the dragon is from (Grenadier).
  16. When I started painting miniature figures about (10 months ago)...this was the (1st figure) that I painted (for my wife). It is also the (1st figure) in my private collection. The figure is from circa 1989 (Grenadier-Dragon Lords). The figure was a cute, but poor casting (female & cat cast as a single piece with very few details). Even though it is a poor quality miniature figure...I am still proud of it and my wife loves it.

    The Carthaginian War Chariot...

This is a vignette from my private collection. My wife found this war chariot and got it for me. It is stock (except that I replaced (1) figure in the chariot with the female warrior figure). I do not have the data on who produced the chariot...and I am not sure about the female figure.
  18. This is a goblin wolfrider hunting/scouting group that my adventure group encounters in the RPG adventure game...Small group, but very effective (used in fast attack on the table top, flank ambush attacks, rear attacks...and for night raids on the adventure camp). These are metal figure from the old Citadel fantasy line. These are game playing pieces.
  19. This is a vignette from my private collection. I love this figure, so far I have painted (5) color versions of her. In the side view photo I tried to show the (subtle, but sexy pink & white garters she is wearing). I submitted this to the Inspiration Gallery and have received no reply.

    Halfling city guards...

These are (3) old citadel halfling figures. They are part of the village/shire guard. I loved the looks of these little people and the fancy garb that they wore. It was really fun to paint them. These are game (NPC) playing pieces for my RPG tabletop game.
  21. Just like the (adventure camp site) & (2 wheel adventure wagon/cart); this is a game playing piece. The adventure group needs to find water to replenish their waterskins, the horse needs water to drink...and most important (adventure group hygiene)...think about it...you have been in the wilderness for 5 or 6 days (you have developed an aroma that creatures downwind of you can smell for miles). As a (GM), I demand that the group maintain the best hygienic standards possible...This is a scratchbuilt piece out of modeling clay...the photo with the figure is just to show the scale/size of the pond.
  22. This is another tabletop playing piece for my RPG group. It again came about from my parts box. I had a tiny metal alter and some plastic pillars, so I decided to build this (Sacrificial Alter Of Rama Kas - Evil Cultist). The piece is 10" x 6" and the base is ceiling tile cut to size & shape...I cast the stone walls & rock steps myself out of plaster...all woodwork is scale lumber...bolts are railroad bolts. The vegetation is an assortment of items that I thought would look good and fit the piece.

    Ogre kicking down fence post...

This figure was done for a hobby shop for their figure painting contest as a promotion figure (it was not a contest entry). I had a great time painting this figure & forming a design vignette base that adds to the figure stance.
