  1. Alright cats and kittens, it's time to gear up for the upcoming seasonal exchange! Thanks! The turnout for the Winter exchange was great and the enthusiasm levels were high. Lots of amazing pieces were sent out and I loved seeing your work! The rules... This is a Spring cleaning exchange, so the rules will differ somewhat from normal. 1. Reaper mini is the focus. If you want to do more, go for it, but I want to see a Reaper product front and center! 50% of the sent minis should be Reaper for this exchange. 2. Minis sent do not have to be painted. I encourage everyone to paint something, but I also want this to be a low-stress exchange. 3. Since this is a Spring cleaning event, now is the chance to find something in your Shelf/Drawer of Shame, on your painting desk, or in a bin somewhere and send it to someone who you believe will get some use out of it! If you feel like sending more than 1, great, but it's not a requirement. Paint it, or just toss it in the package and send it as is, naked and unashamed 4. Please don't contact each other unless you and your person both have listed themselves as okay with contact. I've included it on the questionnaire, so you'll know who wants to keep it secret and who doesn't! Deadline: May 25th, 2013. Why the 25th? Because It's my birthday and Geek Pride Day, and a good gift is one where I can see people getting awesome stuff! I'm giving you all a good long lead time, a bit less than last time, but I sort of ate up the season a bit with the Secret Sophie, so I hope that's okay and apologize. Partnership Rocketpropelledgames will be assisting me this exchange. If something comes up or you have a question for your painter, contact either one of us and we'll get things sorted. Questionnaire If you've already sent me one from last exchange, there is no need for you to send another unless you have a revision to make (tastes change, after all!) and skip to Addendum for more info I'll need. Below is the questionnaire. Fill it out completely, even if you just put "don't care", "nothing", "no". Anything is better than nothing and I promise that this time, I'll be able to keep them for as long as I'm running these and won't have to ask for the info from regular participants. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Figure Exchange Questionnaire -Mailing Infomation- Name: Address: -Miniature Information- What you can paint (monsters, PCs, women, undead, demons, etc): What you want (Mouslings, necromancers, warriors, dual-wielders, etc): What you DON'T want (gross, nudity, undead, kobolds, animals, etc): Material you want to receive? Bones, Resin, Metal, or Any Desired Color Scheme (for those who want something for their army)?: Scenic Base, basic base, plain base, or unbased?: Would you be willing to paint and receive multiple miniatures?: -Personal Information- Will you ship internationally?: Would you like to remain anonymous until your mini is sent?: Would you like to know who is painting for you?: Is there anybody you would prefer not to paint for (please include why)?: Special Requests (For me, your painter, or your recipient): *Questionairre Addendum: Special questions for this exchange. Even if I have your original from last exchange, I still need this messaged to me. Will you be painting something? Is having something painted for you required (be honest, this is for assignment purposes to better match people and avoid disappointment)? If possible, list 5 minis in you'll be Spring cleaning (optional): ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Assignments Deadline The final bit of info for you all our deadline for assignments. Myself or Rocketpropelledgames will be messaging out the assignments March 10th, 2013. As always, thanks to everyone for being part of this and let's me this fun! Keep on being awesome, Reaperinos !

    ReaperCon 2013 Warlord Tournament

The ReaperCon 2013 Warlord Tournament will be a 3 round tourney, with each round lasting approx 105 minutes (1 hour 45 minutes). Each player will bring a single 1000 point army list and play that same army list for all three rounds. Players will be allowed to choose faction doctrines to be in affect before the start of each round. The ReaperCon 2013 Warlord Tournament will be held at the Hotel this year. Some people know that from a different thread, but I am restating it for those that missed this information. Subject to change based on Reaper's needs, the start times (that means deployment time) for each round are currently set at... Round 1: 9 am - 11 am Round 2: 11 am - 1 pm Round 3: 2 pm - 4 pm This schedule allows players to get in their three rounds and still be able to go back and enjoy some time over at the main Reaper campus or other offerings at the hotel. We know that a majority of people are attending to take painting and sculpting classes, we know that even with having the earlier start time for the tourney it will still conflict with some class times. We try our best to make the tournament available to everyone by offering it twice. That is to say, there will be a tournament on Friday, and a tournament on Saturday. You can choose which day to participate. But, you must be able to participate in all three rounds on the day that you choose. At this time, a maximum of 12 people can register per day on a first come first served basis for the tourney for a total of 24 available slots. Consider this thread as the sign up sheet to reserve your spot in the tournament. I will update the list below as people sign up. In the spirit of a Dark Circus theme, the style of the tournament this year will be a little different than prior years. Instead of having 3 different known scenarios that each player will play, this year, each round of the tourney will be a straight up kill them all to the last man standing battle. But, of course we will be adding some random circus tricks and traps that also must be accomplished along the way. These items will be random in each game based on a flip of the card, roll of the dice, etc... You might have the enemy right where you want them, lined up in your sites, when the next flipped card gives you 1 turn to accomplish something an unrelated goal in order to earn a victory point. How you are able to handle the commands of the card flips and still destroy your enemy will determine how well you do in the tourney. Tournament specific rules for the ReaperCon 2013 Warlord Tournament: 1) All models using the Swift Attack ability must have space to make base to base contact with the enemy model they wish to attack on their action. 2) When using the Summoned (Demon) SA granted by the Gate ability of the Demonic Conclave doctrine for the Darkspawn faction, demons summoned in this manner must be of equal or lesser point value than the summoning model. 3) Sir Broderick, Justicar is allowed to lead Justicar soldiers. 4) The abilities gained by the Howl portion of the Koborlas "Call of the Wild" Doctrine can be used as a free action once per game turn. If you have any questions, post them here and I will do my best to answer them promptly. EDIT 3-27-2013: You must turn in your 1000 point roster before the start of the first game. As an incentive, any player that emails (or private message me here on boards) me their final roster by Wednesday April 17th at 6 pm CST, will receive a bonus personal Victory point objective card that will give you the opportunity to earn an additional victory point that you can use during any one of your games. EDIT 4-1-2013: One thing to note, although there has never been a rule stating that one must field a painted army, last year Ed gave a $75 Reaper credit reward for the best painted army in the tourney. just something to think about....
  3. Alright. It's time for my information gathering campaign to begin for our next painted mini exchange! Thanks! First off, let me just thank everyone for being so enthusiastic about this. It's been an incredible experience to have everyone take to this so well. This round I'll be retaking all questionnaires, even if you've done this before. I've got a slightly more comprehensive survey, this time around, and it will really help me out with match-ups to start from scratch on this. Now, the rules... 1. Reaper mini is the focus. If you want to do more, go for it, but I want to see a Reaper product front and center! 2. Please don't contact each other unless you and your person both have listed themselves as okay with contact. I've included it on the questionnaire, so you'll know who wants to keep it secret and who doesn't! 3. Love what you do and continue being as awesome as ever Deadline: March 1st, 2013. I'm giving you all a good long lead time, a bit less than last time, but I sort of ate up the season a bit with the Secret Sophie, so I hope that's okay and apologize. About my painter: Now, because I still have no idea how to do a fair shake at picking my own person, but I don't really want to bother Bryan again, I'm going to keep it simple. The first person to message me, volunteering to paint my mini is it (it also makes it easy to just quickly send my info)! I'll let you know that you are the person and then I'll post here that I'm taken care of. Sound good? I hope so! I'll be messaging out the assignments January 13th, 2013. This is only 2 days before the Secret Sophie Deadline, and just about everyone is done anyway, so I feel we're safe here. It gives everyone 7 weeks to complete their mini, so I hope you all have enough time. It you need more time, please, feel free to ask, and we can work something out! I know that everyone is pretty forgiving about this, myself included. I just put these dates on things to give you urgency, not stress And finally, good luck, have a blast, and remember, you're all the best!
  4. So, Dispatchdave painted me up a couple of minis for the Winter Exchange. These things are... I cannot express just how much I love these. The colors used on Darkrasp are gorgeous. I love his skintone in particular. The robes are wonderful and (since things were a bit rubbed off when he got here), I touched up his chains and scythe. I did the scythe with a very pale blue, white brushed on top in a streaky pattern. The visbaronesses face is my favorite bit (after that, the lovely autumn color selection). It's just stunning. the puffed up, slightly reddened cheeks, the perfect eyes, the amazing hair. DD, you've seriously made me happy. Thank you so much for the fantastic miniatures!

    02483: Mangu Timur

It's been about a year since i really painted anything, so I went with this guy. He was alot of fun. Base was sculpted using Apoxie sculpt. Love working with that stuff. I am not a fan of NMM, so I have been really working to try and make my metallics look better. I am fairly happy with the way he came out. Also trying to push myself to work with and understand color theory. I tend to fall into the category of using every color I own on every miniature. I photographed this using my D7000 with my 105mm nikon lens on it. F/11 shutter speed at about 80 I believe. I use a remote to fire the camera. I setup a photo station in my basement where it is dark so the only light it coming from my three reveal bulbs.
