  1. Warm up for Painting (Mr. Bones)

Here is a painted up Mr. Bones. I am gearing up to do a paint job on a paladin for a character I am playing in a 5e D&D game. Wish me luck on that one!
  2. Prep Work for Painting

Doing some prep work for the next batch of paints I'm set to do.
  3. 77195: Mr. Bones

I've been extraordinarily busy with work and my weekends have been nearly as busy, so I hadn't been able to make the time to do much more than lurk here on the forums and I certainly hadn't had any time to paint. However, I am very much trying to change that and fortunately I have all of you to inspire me! I wanted to ease myself back in with something fun to paint without too many fiddly details going on, so I wound up with my friend, Mr. Bones. Here he is with the standard Brown Liner all over and Linen White drybrushed: Then I decided to start with the cloak. The basecoat was an even mix of P3 Iosan Green & P3 Meredius Blue with just a touch of Brown Liner mixed in: Next up was shading, which I did with a mix of the P3 Meredius Blue and Reaper Twilight Purple: And then I did some highlighting with various mixes of Reaper Jade Green, Reaper Moth Green & Reaper Linen White: I think he's looking pretty good so far and it felt really, really good to get some paint on a mini again. Hopefully I'll have the time to work on him some more this weekend and I'm thinking about carving out some time on one weeknight every week to paint as well. I didn't realise until I uploaded the photos that I missed a little part of cloak between his belt and the handle of his shovel. How typical. As always, comments and critiques are very welcome! I'm thinking about doing a green glaze (probably the original basecoat mix) over the whole thing to tie it all together...what do you guys think?
  4. Evilhalfling's August painting

Mangu Timur feathered serpent & Faerie Dragon Tereziyna, bonepander wizard aka Ms Violet Damiel, Iconic Alchemit Mr. Bones Halbarand, cleric - generic sun god symbol (free handed) Seltyiel, iconic magus and that's everything that would fit in the case: Below is all that remains for me to paint in Bones 1: the rest were sold/traded away. Its not my goal to paint them all before Bones 2 comes in, but ..... Comments and criticisms welcome. I want to get better.
  5. Okay, finally had a chance to pay attention and make an entry for a contest. So, since I want another Mr. Bones based on the new Bones II Kickstarter I decided to make my own version. So the original Mr. Bones lost his shovel and stopped pointing at people. Now he's holding a lantern ... from the Undertaker ... and a large modeled treat bag. Here's the modded and based Mr. Bones II: I have to add some green stuff tomorrow when he's all settled. And make some bones to stick out of the bag as well as the bag coming out of his holding hand. Hit me with your thoughts on it. Oh and my deadline is the end of the KS. Not just the contest deadline.
  6. 77195 - Mr. Bones

Mr. Bones here has the honor of being my first completed mini from the Bones Kickstarter. You can view my WIP in the Open/Group thread. This was a few hours worth of brush time, all finished in one day, except for the basing. The blends are a little rough, but I wanted to see what I could do in a slightly accelerated time frame. He was a fun mini, although that crooked shovel is going to continue to nag at me every time I see him! Mr. Bones had to be done first, as he has a job to do...
  7. OneBoot's Consolidated Show Off

My second miniature ever, and my very first KS mini! It's just a rat, but I'm quite happy with the results. My WIP is posted here. (Note: the last picture was taken before I'd tidied up around the toes on his back feet; the top 2 pictures are the ones that were taken last.) Huzzah! --OneBoot :D
