    77469 Brand Oathblood WIP

Ok I don't do that many WIPs but I thought I'd try on this one. This is so far a base coat and 6 layers of shading. I like to use glazes so the build up is very gradual and I have to remember that everytime I start a mini lol. I will put down about 10 more layers going down all the way to a deep purple. This is at the pure tanned skin shadow phase. It will be slow going due to work but I will keep up with it. Comments and criticism welcome and before it gets mentioned I removed no mold lines this is more of a proof of concept to see if I can finish a wip post and how my skin painting is coming along. Thanks!

    Frost Giant 77544

Almost done... Just the snow and some painting details... Really liked the model, and is 1 of the main reasons I backed bones 3...the posture was tough, I liked that a lot. One of my first serious attempt of NMM, very happy with it. Unfortunately Tha backside if the axe is better than the front.... A well... Hope u like. Edit: icicles are from train-model building sets. Translucent plastic, and I sprayed a bit of white on the base of the icicle.

    Millstone

Presenting Millstone a member of the Farmers Guild from the game Guild Ball and part of my Old Fathers Harvest WIP thread. I'm not too happy with her face (not that she had much of one to start with), but I think the rest turned out pretty good. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  9. Hello guys and gals, here's a new figure I just finished, a Ral Partha figure from the eighties, a female warrior, kind of a bit barbaric, with axe and shield. As Always, deciding just simple things like colors were kind of more time consuming than they should have been. I did her hair black because I'd seen the same model very nicely painted and done blonde and didn't want to copy. This was sculpted by the great Julie Guthrie, sculpting goddess. Also had no idea what color the shield should have been so eventually and randomly chose green! Anyhoos, enjoy!

    77074: Dain Deepaxe (Bones)

This is the bones casting. I wish I had gotten the metal version once I started painting this as it seems some details were lost, especially in the face, and I found it more difficult to paint.

    14418: Bloodstone Gnome Scragger

It has been a while, but I am back with another mini from Reaper. This time its a Blood Stone Gnome, which I tried to paint up as a goblin. Hope you all like it. Any C&c is welcomed.
  13. Good evening all, so just finished this one, another really fun and adventurous Dwarf sculpted by Jim Johnson back in 2002-2003. Another piece from the Hackmaster line from Kenzer and Company, but was acquired by Ral Partha and now being cast by them. Hopefully dwarfy enough colors, started out with his skin as tanned highlights and gave him some nice black hair. I thought about doing something with the runes on his axe but then just figured I'd leave them as metal. Enjoy!

    14536: Varaug, Orc Warlord

I'm playing a half-orc warpriest in a Pathfinder game who uses a huge ol' axe. I figured this would be a pretty good mini for him. Base was made with GW Agrellan earth with some Vallejo pigments on it to give it some better color. I used rattlesnake leather as his base skin color, with a wash of dark elf shadow and highlighted with green ochre. I went with red hair, because why not? Reaper red hair triad.
  16. I'm a noob (about 5-6 weeks of painting) but am happy with this guy and his rusty armor! Would love some C & C from anyone though!

    Ventar - Champion of Chaos

Once a mere gladiator, Ventars brutality in the arena attracted the attentions of the Dark Gods. Remade into one of their champions, he now travels from battlefield to battlefield seeking out those that can provide him with an entertaining fight. Presenting Ventar, an Exalted Deathbringer with Ruinous Axe from GamesWorkshops Age of Sigmar range. This one was a bit of a challenge as non-human skin tones are outside of my comfort zone, but I don't think I did too badly. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  18. Little is known of Father Mordicais past, before he pledged his allegiance to the God of Plagues, but the speed at which he and his Chalice Of Filth warband have gained notoriety amongst the multitudes that battle for the attentions of the Dark Gods make him someone to be feared and respected. Presenting Father Mordicai - The Lord of Corruption, he is the leader of one half of Games Workshops latest Warhammer 40K starter set. Not completely happy with this one. Made a mess basing him, there's sand all clumped up around his feet. I also couldn't get his arms to attach properly (they dry-fitted perfectly at the start, so I'm not sure what changed), leaving a sizeable gap around his shoulders. At least I didn't do too terrible of a job painting him. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

    03762, Shaern Female Antipaladin

Here are "many" pictures of my entry for the Reaper 4th Quarterly Facebook Group Painting Contest. I wanted unusual colors for the armor and after painting her, I decided to call her "Pink kills". Shaern Female Antipaladin was scuplted by Bobby Jackson. The pieces of monster on the base are parts from Reaper's 03334, Creature Components and 03440, Creature Components II. The first picture was my entry in the contest. Comments and critiques are very welcome.

    77299 BONES Female Anti Paladin

This is was my entry for the 4th quarterly Reaper Facebook contest. It was good enough for 3rd place! There were so many well painted models, and awesome interpretations. As I was planning it, my starting idea was copper nmm. I didn't want the typical verdigris. Then I thought a bluish or purple to counter the orange, so that got me thinking Drow with purple glazed into her shadows. Then I took that farther to try to get OSL in her eyes, shield, and base as if she was casting 'protection from good' or something. Sadly, the OSL was saved to the end when I ran out of time. So I tried a bright rim around those areas, then a purple glaze. It wasn't striking enough for my tastes, but ... deadlines! So, I hope you like her. Sorry if the photo is blurry, it's a cell phone screen grab. C&C welcome.

    77299 Female Anti-paladin

For your consideration: Reaper Bones miniature Female Anti-Paladin. It wasn't until I started on my idea for the shield that I realized that *it* was the Main Character. Not exactly a daemon-possessed sword, but a symbiotic relationship none-the-less. Extravagant tone with bright, decadent colors. She-Hulk for the hair. Massive Voodoo for the dots. (More dots!) My cat Zen for the eyes. (He's a Tom.) Lots of non-textured areas to tell a story. Great player character or reoccurring NPC. A lesson of extreme - in Color and form. The armor was protective but the clothing was tattered like a torn mesh bodysuit. Heavy straps encircled limbs and the armored boots formed like hooves. Toothy maw adornment on the armor hints at hunger. A very introspective Pin-Up. I hope you enjoy. :)

    Goldar, Male Barbarian 77047

This is the very first fig that I ever bought, 8 or 9 years ago. It was for my first D&D session with some close friends, and I fell in love with the game on the spot. This character has gone through a lot: demonic armor possession, lost both of his eyes, had a hole punched through his chest, died 3 times, came back as a zombie, body taken over by a lich, and currently resurrected in the body of a half-ogre. I have a new fig for the character and his new body, but this one will always have a special place in my heart. I finally got around to painting him over the weekend. His eyes are a little googly, and the attempt at highlighting didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, but I'm glad he turned out OK. Tips on highlighting would be most appreciated, as that's what I was trying out on this one. Thanks as always!

    60182: Hakon, Iconic Skald WIP

This is my first post. I'm relatively new at this, I've painted fewer than 10 minis, but I really like it. I have Multiple Sclerosis so my hands shale and my vision gets... weird... sometimes, so I tend to take an incredibly long time. Here's a recap of the last 17 hours: My friend I am doing this for is playing a character with only 1 axe, so I removed the second one with wire cutters and used modeling putty to fix where I marred the coat. Still a bit rough. I might put a dagger in his hand or something. Not sure. I found that I need to do their faces first because if I mess up a face on an already painted body it is hard to strip and start over. I noticed that what I thought was hair was actually little robe-orniments so I painted them copper. All his leather belts and buckles were really hard on my hands! I didnt want him to look too much like Thor, so I decided he's a warm-colors kind of guy. I need to learn how to make the metal look reflective like some of you do! The horn on his back is 'Horn of Gondor' colors. Good ol 'pencil for scale' picture for a friend. He probably will take me another 6 hours or so to finish, but I had to quit to sleep for now. Taking time to look or comment means a lot to me, you guys are great. Thanks! Hope I can finish him tomorrow! Why do 2 pictures keep randomly loading below this point? I keep deleting but they just come back. Halp! (Duplicate pics removed by OneBoot :) )
  25. Eldest digit is turning 10 in two weeks. There will be a pathfinder party and I get to be the dungeon master. I also get to prepare minis for the party. While most will make characters a couple days before (end of next week), Indy the eldest wanted to make one this weekend. Went with a female half-Orc ranger wielding a double axe. Sounds fun, right? Well, I don't seem to have a lot of double axe wielding minis. Actually have a prepainted one, but it is an Orc and he's definitely male, so that was out. I figure I can convert an appropriate figure that's wielding a pole arm without too much trouble. But it would have to have the right positioning for the weapon. Came across Vernicia and Indy says, that's her. It turns out I have this figure from years ago. Pulled it out of the box of shame, primed black. Here it looks after dusting it off pre cutting. cut the standby end off and made a point out of what was left of the shaft. Also found a couple of prepainted orkz to remove axe heads from. They are big and ridiculous so they'll be perfect! drilled out the shaft end of the plastic axe heads a little to give them a chance to hold onto the sharpened shaft and applied super glue. Also glued to a base at this point. Then hit the whole thing with a heavy drybrush of white primer. And did a quick paint all in one night. Left it on the table and we will see what the reaction is in the morning. I think she turned out pretty good. What do you think?
