  1. So now that ReaperCon 2016 is over , my painting desk is clear of pretty much everything, as for the last few months, everything was directed towards that... So I am taking on a project for a good friend, who recently had his first child, and no longer has much time for anything.... We play a game called Flames of War, which is 15mm WWII, and the company that released it, Battlefront, has come out with a new variation called Team Yankee, The title comes from a novel by Harold Coyle about an American Tank team in Germany during World War III circa 1985... Your humble Drow is taking this on as a labor of love, because if the events in the book would have been true, He would have been one of those tank crewmen involved in the fighting..... So I am painting his force as C company, 1st Battalion, 33rd Armored Regiment, 3rd Armored Division.... I served in B Co and Headquarters cos while there, so that is what I will eventually do my troops as.... Anyway the kits are all plastic, just like the 1/35th scale models i used to build back when... The sprues: That builds 1 M1 Abrams Tank, depending on what version you wish to build, there are different parts.... He also shipped me the US paint set, and 2 cans of the base coat / primer for the US Forces... (Aren't the bullet bottles cute? they are only 12ml though.....) Battlefront originally had Vallejo doing their paints, and now I believe it is Army Painter... So I assembled the hull and turret of one last night to use as my test bed, spraying overall with the Yankee Green spray, and painting the track pads and rubber of the road wheels with Vallejo Black Grey... So tonight I am going to read up a bit on what BF thinks is appropriate colors, then mask the tracks and break out the airbrush for some 3 color camo, US Army style, 1985.... Thanks for looking!
  2. This guys were fun (and quick) to paint up. Snake on the right is a Indian Cobra as the sculpt intends. (The white on the hood follows the shape sculpted in.) Snake on the left is roughly a spotted viper. I converted the cobra by chopping of its hood, but should have just shorten the hood and added some green stuff to the remaining bit of hood to give it a wide face.
  3. I decided to enter Rhasia in the Rainbow Brush online contest http://www.destroyer...-rainbow-brush/ Until I saw my pictures I was very happy with her . Though I do think its my best NMM to date. Only posting her backside here, since she isn't wearing much as far as clothing goes.... https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_ZgOi70hDxnZXM5Q3pBSTB0Tjg/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_ZgOi70hDxnSE5fQ1FGRndEY1E/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_ZgOi70hDxnRXM0akM0NFJwR2c/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_ZgOi70hDxnaUJkcXNjanptRG8/view?usp=sharing
  4. 03655: Rusty Iron Cobra

Finally finished my Iron cobra, painted up in a partially rusted style
  5. Iron Cobra WIP

So I found two primed minis I had misplaced, the Iron Cobra Talespinner had sent me along with the wyvern and a clearance monk like mini I had bought at my FLGS. This is going to be a WIP for the cobra =3 Question is....should I try out my new rust skills and make a rusty cobra? It's tempting...but he is rather small, i might not be able to get the full effect on him. So shiny might be the way to go. Opinions?
  6. Alright It's going to take a few posts in this thread to complete all of this. Since the game "Tomorrow's War" by Ambush Alley Games has dropped I've been planning on doing a GI Joe Mod. So I'll start with the what Reaper doesn't provide. The HISS Tank Of anything in the arsenal you'll have to scratch build this. Here is a Website with a detailed review and pictures of the most recent addition to the HISS tank line. And here is a site with the blue prints that came with the toys from the 80's. (The HISS is near the bottom of this page of blue prints.) Here's his second page of blue prints. As for the Joe vehicles most are based off of US military equipment so these can be obtained in 1/48 model kits, or kit bashed from them. Next Post: The Reaper Forces of COBRA!!!!
