  12. Runequest Classic Edition Kickstarter

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/224590870/runequest-classic-edition?ref=nav_search Here we are in 2015, the 40th Anniversary of Chaosium as a game company. In a few months Glorantha, Greg Stafford's fantasy game world, celebrates its Golden 50th anniversary. We feel the time is right to bring the celebrated classic second edition of RuneQuest back into print. Gaming is going through a bit of an Old School renaissance as of late, and we want RuneQuest to be a part of it. We hope you’ll join in on the fun! REWARDS: The RuneQuest Hardcover Book - is 144 pages. It will have sewn binding. It contains all the 2nd edition text, but with all the errata incorporated where it belongs. Additional material has been added to the appendices at the end. If you want more than one copy of the book, add another $30 for each additional book to the level you are backing. The RuneQuest Leatherette Hardcover Book - is 144 pages. It is in red leatherette with gold foil stamps on the front and spine. It has a color dust jacket. If you want more than one copy of the book, add another $50 for each additional book to the level you are backing. The Player Handouts - are 20 pages of reference material for the players to use during character creation and ongoing play. The GM Screen - is two 11 inch x 17 inch (very close to A3 paper size) color cardstock panels with handy charts and tables from the Rulebook on the GM side, and classic Luise Perrene art on the Player Side. The Old School RQ Source Pack - consists of four of the earliest RQ1/RQ2 supplements published: Militia & Mercenaries, Scorpionmen & Broos, Trolls & Trollkin and the Balastor's Barracks scenario. Each is about 16 pages in length with a color cardstock cover. If you want more than one copy of this Source Pack, add another $50 for each additional Source Pack to the level you are backing. The Runequest Playtest Manuscript book - is a 250+ page hardcover book created from high resolution scans of the original playtest manuscript. This manuscript is the only known set of playtest notes in existence which were lovingly kept in a binder for the last 40 years. This playtest material was used to create the first edition of RuneQuest. It includes newly written introductory essays by Steve Perrin and Greg Stafford. Here's a few pictures of the original: The 2 volume "Unpublished Scenarios and Source Material" set - is two hardcover books with hundreds of pages of unpublished RuneQuest material by Greg Stafford and other early authors. It includes a fair bit of Sorcery rules for the West, the Howling Tower scenario set in the Upland Marsh, as well as a wide range of other material, esoteric and otherwise. We will describe it in more detail in the comments section and the FAQ. This reward is only available as part of this Kickstarter. Into old school RPGs, love Glorantha/Runequest ? then this one is a great choice they seem to have fulfilled their last KS OK with minor hiccups
  13. Spinal Column Miniatures

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/4572344/spinal-column-miniatures?ref=category_newest About this project Today we want to bring you the first models from the New World Earth range: The Wasteland Abominations. We have already sculpted, printed, molded, and recast the Unstable Abomination. The quality of this model is incredible, it's packed with details that are sure to delight any collector. Wasteland Abominations Caught in a nuclear and chemical fallout, the Wasteland Abominations not only survived, but thrived. These once-human creatures have become twisted monsters, and seek revenge upon the inhabitants of Mega Structure for abandoning them to a fate far worse than death. Go to war controlling the brute strength, and mutated minds of the wastelands. The Wasteland Abominations are chaotic in nature. These twisted mutants are the resemblance of the once human, deformities existing as a result of existing in the radiated wastelands of America. UNSTABLE ABOMINATION Suffering from the instability of mutation the Unstable Abomination is an engine of destruction on the battlefield. Towering over his enemies, the Abominations can reach the height of twelve feet, and have weighed in at over fourteen hundred pounds. To encounter this beast in combat is pure terror, and the thought of killing him is simply insanity. Since every Abomination suffers from instability, there’s no telling when a mutant might grow unstable, muscles tearing and growing, doubling instantly. Bones snap, twist, mend, and regrow within seconds as the creature is reborn. The mind of the creature is destroyed by the transmutation of its body, and all intelligence flees the beast that now ravages the battlefield. Unpainted vs. Painted Model The Unstable Abomination next to a Games Workshop Space Marine THE BRAIN Born a bastard, the Brain was a weak, dying infant, discarded by his mother. Adopted and raised by the Banshee, a wailing lunatic, the Brain developed an oversized cranium. Soon, he found that he had the mental ability to devastate others with a simple thought. His brain grew. He could control others with simpler minds on a whim. His cranium swelled. Causing lightning to arch and strike or fires to erupt with a mere desire was not beyond his grasp. His skull shattered, and his massive brain spilled forth. THE BRUTES Brute 1 The backbone of the Wasteland army, the Brutes are larger deformed warriors sometimes brandishing small hand weapons like rusty pistols, chains, or pipes. The Brute stands several feet taller than an average human, and possess incredible strength and durability. Brute 2 AND FINALLY... This is the first army we are working towards getting completely fleshed out for the upcoming game New World Earth. The game is a living card game combined with a table top miniature game. Models have unique skills and abilities, as well as the ability to cast rare action cards to help defeat their enemies. Getting this starter army produced is just the first step in getting the game completed. All funds will go towards getting the army recast, and into your hands, as well as additional work done on the game. We plan to bring you along for the journey! Traverse the wastelands, and remember it’s against the law to feed the Abominations! Thanks for looking and please back us today!

  16. Aethera Campaign Setting

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/89095698/aethera-campaign-setting About this project In the Aethera Campaign Setting, you'll soar to asteroid outposts and ancient high-tech ruins on a ship powered by crystallized magic, journey to worlds populated by intelligent plant bio-engineers, musically prophetic technocrats, human-souled robotic war veterans, and alien shamans, all suddenly threatened by interstellar raiders. Aethera is a Pathfinder RPG compatible science -fantasy setting. The Aethera Campaign Setting brings space opera to the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. You'll be able to experience the unique biomes of six totally new alien worlds, each with their own highly detailed histories, cultures, conflicts, and threats. Aethera is being designed with a distinct 1920s-1930s retro-futuristic art style, tempered by the presence of magic. Its diesel-punk meets magical technology, meets elements of traditional fantasy. You'll have paladins, sorcerers, and wizards working as a team to explore asteroid dungeons where they'll encounter lost technology from before the collapse of stellar civilization. Or maybe you'd like to explore the tense post-war political environment of the human mega-city arcologies on the barren world of Akasaat, where you'll stalk the shadows of mile-high cities uncovering a vast conspiracy surrounding an ancient prophetic song broadcast by one of the Aethera system's dying stars. In the Aethera Campaign Setting you can battle kytons that live in the shadowy spaces-between-spaces, live in terror of raids by the enigmatic taur: spacefaring minotaur in planetoid-sized maze ships, survive in the lightless realm of the Darkwild deep below the canopy of the forest world of Kir-Sharaat, brave the icy tundra of the dust-shrouded world of Orbis-Aurea and unearth mysteries of the long-lost Progenitors, or race into the heart of the Amrita Asteroid Belt to run a smuggling operation with the other scoundrels and rabble rousers living beyond the reach of the Hierarchy! There's so much to see and experience in the Aethera Campaign Setting that we have to create a whopping 400-page hardcover in order to contain it all! The Aethera Campaign Setting will include the following content: Chapter 1: Races 14 pages of content for Aethera's core races; human, erahthi (plant-like creatures), phalanx (bio-mechanical constructs), okanta (giant-blooded), and the infused (victims of magical experimentation with latent telekinetic powers) as well as information on how other races fit into the Aethera Campaign Setting. Chapter 2: Classes 100 pages of content! We introduce the cantor, a divine spellcasting bard-like class. We also discuss how the core, base, hybrid, and occult classes fit into the setting. Then we provide you with 4 pages of new archetypes for the cantor, and 65 pages of new archetypes for nearly every existing class! Chapter 3: Cosmology 128 pages of setting lore about the six worlds of the Aethera Campaign Setting, from its twin stars Ashra and Aethera, to the human homeworld of Akasaat, the forest world of Kir-Sharaat, the lawless Amrita Asteroid Belt, the ruin-shrouded gas giant Seraos, the frozen wastes of Orbis Aurea, and a detailed look at Aethera's outer planes. Chapter 4: Feats & Skills 32 pages of new skill unlocks that enhance the new aethership combat rules and other unique aspects of the Aethera Campaign Setting. 15 pages of feats bring new ideas and concepts to the table, like growing plant symbiotes or crafting automata prosthetics! Chapter 5: Gear & Magic 76 pages of new mundane and magic items, a new classification of item called aethertech (technology fueled by crystallized magic), aetherships (magic-technology hybrid starships) and the rules for aethership combat in space and in-atmosphere, artifacts, and new spells including the warping subschool of transmutation! Chapter 6: Bestiary 45 pages of the most unusual, horrific, and fascinating monsters that inhabit the Aethera Campaign Setting. From the cannibal taur, to the psychic flesh-warping Azaka, to the terrifying kytons of the Machine Choir, and much, much more! The Aethera Campaign Setting is being designed by industry professionals with a standard you've come to expect from top-of-the-line publishers. Take a look at some samples of the art and layout quality you can expect to see in the Aethera Campaign Setting!
  17. Hi everyone! I just started a second Trash Bash Bits campaign on Kickstarter. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/847163926/trash-bash-bits-part-two Trash Bash Bits were created to make the crafting of wargame buildings faster and more fun by eliminating the need to scratchbuild doors and windows to add to projects. The first Trash Bash Bits Kickstarter campaign was very successful and helped to create five designs of science fiction doors and windows. Trash Bash Bits 2 will add to this collection with five new designs! The castings of the first TBB campaign were enthusiastically praised by backers for being sharp and clean. The detail on the final castings actually looks sharper than on the prototypes! Plus they are lightweight and have flat backs so you can glue them easily to plastic, foamcore, styrofoam, or any other common modeling material. Don't throw away your time. Use Trash Bash Bits!

  19. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cadenceselect/danddandd-the-tabletop-fantasy-art-of-tom-fowler D&D&D: THE TABLETOP FANTASY ART OF TOM FOWLER will be high quality, professionally designed 9â€x9†hard cover art book with at least 100 pages of D&D&D entries. Each entry has been rescanned at a high resolution and colour corrected to capture as much of the quality of the original drawings as possible and present them to you as though you were right there at the table with me. We're offering this book to Kickstarter backers at an exclusive rate of $15 per book. When published D&D&D will retail for a minimum of $20! NICE THINGS PEOPLE HAVE SAID ABOUT D&D&D (and me!): “Tom Fowler’s incredible monster illustrations leap from his tabletop gaming campaigns and directly into your imagination. In a genre built from cribbed-together elements of time-worn fantasy and mythology, Tom’s creatures stand apart as truly original and endlessly inspiring.†-- Erik Mona, Publisher, Paizo Inc. “Tom Fowler’s art evokes powerful memories of the weird and wonderful fantasy stories of my youth; the kind of earthy sword & sorcery worlds we’d build around the gaming table filled to the brim with wondrous places, dangerous beasts, and questionable morals.†– Jim Zub (Conan Red Sonja, Legends of Baldur’s Gate) “If I were a big-time producer, I would run to Tom Fowler's door like my elf was on fire, to beg him to design my movie. The rest of us will just have to go to [D&D&D] and slobber like starving dogs.†-- Clint McElroy (Merle Highchurch of THE ADVENTURE ZONE) “Tom’s imagination and creativity on his D&D&D work is so good I’m mad at him whenever he draws things that aren’t D&D&D.†-- Skottie Young (I HATE FAIRYLAND, FORTUNATELY, THE MILK) “This book let's all the beautiful monsters out of Tom Fowler's head. How lucky for us.†-- Gerry Duggan (DEADPOOL, NERD POKER) "Monsters. They're at the heart of fantasy, at the heart of the RPG. We've been exposed to them so many times, it's easy to become familiar, to forget their alien flesh of wonder. Let Tom remind you." -- Kieron Gillen (The Wicked + the Divine, Phonogram, Star Wars: Darth Vader) "Tom is one of the best illustrators of his generation, not hyperbole, just fact. With influences clear from fantasy master Frazetta, to lush monsters like Ploog, to stunning brush work like Jack Davis all I've ever wanted from him is a book of D&D monsters and fun, and now the planets have aligned to give mankind that which is deserves from his mighty wrist. Buy anything with the man's name on it." --Rick Remender (BLACK SCIENCE, TOKYO GHOST) A BRIEF HISTORY OF D&D&D A number of years ago I found I’d started to hate to draw. I’d been doing it professionally at that point probably for 10-15 years and before that since I could remember. Suffice it to say that when the thing you do that you feel defines you, the thing that comforted you when you were bullied or when girls wouldn’t talk to you, when that thing becomes the bully in your life... well, it’s not great. I got very low for a long time. Eventually my wife suggested (largely in an attempt to get me out of the house) that I join a group of our friends who played D&D every week. So off I marched with a note book, dice, and a bottle of wine and spent the next few weeks mashing orcs into a fine paste on graph paper. I noticed something almost immediately. In the margins of my notebook I’d started doodling. With every game those doodles got more and more elaborate until, ultimately, they started to spill out of the margins. What’s more, I felt no pressure; I was having fun. I was having fun drawing for the first time in years. In the following weeks I substituted my lined, yellow legal pads for the empty last pages of various old, abandoned sketchbooks. When I’d exhausted them new sketchbooks were consumed. What I eventually realized was that, in taking myself out of my office, out of my home, away from my work, I’d started carving out the time and space to draw for me. Just like I had when I was a kid. There were no clients, no notes, no expectations, just the giddy excitement of spilling out what was inside my head onto the page without any plan or forward thought of what it might be. The revelation was enormous to me. I started bringing this new-found excitement back to my professional work. I started to love it again. By this time I’d started the blog. Because I wanted to share that feeling with others. I wanted to share the idea that you could come back, that you could lose it and find it again, and that all it took was pushing a pencil (or a pen, or a brush...) around on a piece of paper and not caring particularly where it took you. ... and also that monsters probably don’t wear pants.
  20. Z War One relaunched

Hmm, search function claims there's no hits on this forum for 'war', so I may be simply missing it, but I don't seem to see anyone mention this has relaunched: Z War One - Damnation "episodic, comic book miniature board game" Only difference as far as I can tell is more stretch goals. Might've made sense for them to try to have a third episode ready, but doesn't look like it so far.

  22. Serious Poulp: 7th Continent

Our game group is backing this one, and I think it looks really awesome. Not a whole lot in the way of minis, but it does look like a really clever game! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1926712971/the-7th-continent-explore-survive-you-are-the-hero There's a ton of pictures and multiple videos on the project page.
  23. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/53020943/dan-arielys-irrational-card-game Dan Ariely is a well known author and research in behavioral economics (psychology/economics/social sciences). His bestseller Irrationally Rational is fantastic. He's created a card game revolving around trivia for social science research. Some of the proceeds will go toward funding more research. I'm not sure how replayable the game will be, but I'm certainly getting a copy (maybe several) for my classes. It's a little niche- but it combines my job (research/teaching psychology) and my gaming hobbies. Unfortunately there's not a line of miniatures representing famous researchers, but we could all gang up and pester him for some!
  24. Live and already very well-funded. Has a Kenneth Hite project called "The Fall of Delta Green" using Gumshoe tucked away inside it. I confess I found this project's pledge levels as confusing as the Chaosium CoC 7th edition pledge levels. Too much text tries my patience, man. 11 days to go: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/arcdream/delta-green-the-role-playing-game?ref=nav_search I post this here although I am not sure about backing myself, partly because I have older editions of this material and I am not sure what has changed. EDIT: I just realized this is a stand alone RPG, rather than the older, CoC supplement. EDIT EDIT: They state this in the FAQ, which I repeat here in case anyone can explain it to me: "Delta Green: The Role-Playing Game is based on the percentile system used in games such as Call of Cthulhu and RuneQuest. We started with the RuneQuest system and the Sanity system that are covered by the Open Gaming License and customized them heavily to fit Delta Green." I was not aware that any material from RuneQuest or CoC were OGL. Adam Scott Glancy is a major contributor but has yet to fulfill his "Horrors of War" Kickstarter project, and has been asked about his divided duties on the comments for the latter project. He seems to be dealing with it though. Just behind.
