  1. This one I got from @strawhat part of a Toob Animal Set. I repainted it. I used it on my Welcome to the Jungle Terrain / Diorama piece. Which in turn is part of my Lost World Project. Here I took pics of the Giant Centipede in his own corner of the piece. Done in Scale 75 Inks.

    77428, Vermin Tick

As you continue your descent even deeper into the bowels of the earth, you learn that it's not only the huge monsters that are to be feared. While you are sleeping, after your watch shift, a creature drops silently next to you. Without you realizing it, it manages to sting you right on the neck and starts to suck you blood. Sometime later, you woke up with an intense pain on the back of your neck. You realize with disgust what happened. Your wound is infected, and you feel very weak. After examining, your companions realize that you are infected with a serious illness. If you are not treated quickly, you will certainly die within the next few days. Here's the 77428, Vermin Tick, a Dark Heaven Bones sculpted by Bob Ridolfi.

77428 BONES Ticks (2) by Bob Ridolfi

Here are some classic vermin for your viewing pleasure. Still going along with the Reign of Winter theme, I wanted one wintry option. The red one shading/blending got really washed out in the picture. The recesses are splattered crimson, so much darker than this looks. Boy, are these eyes tiny! C&C Welcome.
  4. Here's my final batch of new painted figures. Bones Giant Centipedes. A staple encounter for low-level adventurers. Still inspired by Reign of Winter. Sadly, Mr. Red got into the snow of Mr. Blue's base! Enjoy. C&C Welcome.
  5. A while ago Malefactus send me some miniatures as a gift to contribute to my Lost World Project. His friend Cpt. John saw it and decided to include this wonderful miniature. WIP here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-xherman1964-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/ EUREKA Miniatures 28mm War Turtle ( the Little ones are smaller but they fit right in). Thanks Malefactus and Cpt. John for this amazing gift! I hope I did it proud. I connected a few Tabletop Art Resin bases to create a bigger base for this monster. He is as big as a young tortoise would be in real life! I added a few resin pieces from Ristul's Market too, a centipede and a Saurus Skull, the other stuff was already sculpted on the base. Hope you like it.
  6. Another monster for my Lost World Project Project here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-xherman1964-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/ This is a 15mm miniature from Demonworld, since it is really huge I use it for my 28mm project. That is a Microart Studio resin jungle base 3 x 2 inch! I tried to emulate the metallic sheen that some beetles have on this scorpion. Using different metallics and then some inks and black glazing. Enjoy. Likes and comments welcome,if you want to throw rotten tomatoes, report to the scorpion first for a "talk"

    Stag beetle

Quick little 'paint' job with craft metallics over permanent marker on a cheap toy. Mostly done for some practice. 120mm x 95mm* MDF oval base. Classic DOOM imp shown for scale. *Found out AFTER custom ordering a bunch of these ovals that I was 1 MM off of the size I wanted... 120mm x 94mm oval, the base for enormous 40K monsters.

    771300: Vermin: Beetle Swarm

Was looking for less involved miniatures to paint and to make a dent in my unpainted Bones. Decided to paint these little beetle swarms. Thanks for reading!
  9. Ankheg with Metallic Chitin When I decided to work on this miniature it was because the base was already made and I liked the idea of something coming out of it, so I went with the Ankheg. As a Bones mini it was easy to remove pieces of the integral base until I just had the stones remaining. And mixing in some more stones from the same stamp as the base allowed it to fit in with the base more. The Ankheg is a combination of Bronzes except for highlights. There's plain Vallejo Bronze down his back as the base coat. Then the other colors are all mixed with the bronze for similar effect: Reaper Midnight Blue, Reaper Leaf Green, and Reaper Spattered Gore. The flagstones are all Vallejo Neutral Gray or that mixed with Midnight Blue and Reaper Rattlesnake Leather. Vallejo Chocolate Brown was used for the "dirt" side of bricks or the loose dirt that came with the integral base. Reaper Walnut Brown was used as a wash for the entire piece. Scorpion Man - 03105

Took a lot more time than I thought he would, but he was fun to paint. I really love painting Reaper's monsters. Somehow I ended up with a whole different style than my previous scorpion, but even if it doesn't match, I think it came out OK. My resolution is to paint at least what I have put together on my desk before I purchase anymore minis. This takes care of mini #4, just a handful more to go! Hope you enjoy.

    77130 Beetle Swarm (Bones)

Here's a quick one I did. Randomly went into the box of Bones (KS I) and pulled these out. Pretty simple paint job. First off, 9064 Brown Liner as both primer and base color. Next, 913 Forest Green, 9134 Clotted Red, 9050 Antique Gold, 9126 Gunmetal Blue, and 9280 Nightmare Black were all used to paint individual beetles. Afterwards, I probably would have stuck with just the red and gold. Those looked the best on the base color.

    02564, Giant Scarab Beetle

Here are some pictures of the Scarab I finish painting today. It’s the main subject of my recent diorama project WIP. The original sculpt is by Bob Olley.

    02564, Giant Scarab Beetle

I like Monsters and since I couldn’t find much painted version of Bob Olley’s 02564 Giant Scarab Beetle on the forum or the Internet, I decided to not only paint one, but also convert it so it will be very original. You’ll see on the first photo, I want to make it like it's flying or at least taking off. To do that, I filled the bottom part inner body with green stuff and sculpted the abdomen and metathorax. I cutted the top part shell to form the "elytra" forewings. As for the hind wings, I first wanted to make them using transparent plastic sheets. But, since the material I found was too thin and very easy to scratch, I choose to use P02744B Cichastuc Wings.

Here is a Hooked Terror I painted years ago. The sculpt is by Ben Siens.
