  1. Silvervane

    Cuthem and Spire

Well, we have my next installment in some townsfolk Adventuring Kids. Cuthem the Barbarian with a ummmm.... follower of sorts, Spire. The names were given by @SisterMaryNapalm in the WIP I have running for these little tykes. Spire was donated to the cause of this little scene by @malefactus. Love the stuff he makes. Scene Set if fiction by @SisterMaryNapalm "Who are you?" "Me? Ah - don't mind me. I am just an obscure bystander." "You are? You look like a big talking mushroom." "Yeah ... I mean ... what a nice axe you've got there. It's pretty sharp, isn't it?" "It is. You can chop a guy in half. That's not something you can do every day!" "Sounds like your favorite 80's action film." "What's that?" "Never mind. My name is Fungal Spire." "Barbaria Cutthem." Cutthem and Spire - the new show on Netflix WIP Here Thanks for Viewing my madness and any C&C you feel inspired to give.
  2. Hello everyone, Once again I am starting a new project. To not disturb the continuation of the story, I put the remarks and so on into spoiler boxes. Thanks to @malefactusand @Silvervanefor supporting my idea and providing first feedback, Thanks to @Glitterwolfand @Cyradisfor further support And to @OneBoot, @buglips*the*goblin and @Chaoswolf for listening to my first attempt. Without further ado – let’s go! Chapter I The story of a village begins A girl heads out for adventure Once upon a time there was a village named Silvervane, founded on the edge of a rich silver deposit. Everyone thought that this small and obscure town would soon rise to glory and greatness. A place where to all of the Earth’s kindred would pilgrim. A center of commerce and diplomacy for a quarter of a million humans and creatures from all over the world. It was not long after this promising beginning, that the Imperial Academy of Land Surveillance measured the true size of the deposit and issued a report to the Imperial Throne, stating that the natural resource was of no significance for the great needs of the country. This country, as we will soon learn, was called Cyradis and its ruler, the Crimson Empress, decided the fate of Silvervane. The anticipated Great Silver Rush never happened and therefore Silvervane fell into the dark, bitter maw of oblivion. Soon, the village was of no importance anymore and its residents – all the people who didn’t want to leave or couldn’t go – had to adapt with their new situation. Being isolated by great forests to the west and the south, a deep and stormy sea to the east and high mountains to the north, they were trapped, an enclave of human life in the middle of nowhere. It was no easy existence for those left behind. Land had to be taken from the Malefactus, the Evil Forest that bore all kinds of creepy creatures; weird trees and plants, armies of strangely talking mushrooms and other unspeakably fantastic and eerie beings. To counter the dreads of nature, the villagers hired warriors. Fine and athletic men and women with adventurer bodies, not those puppets or models one would expect in such a situation. No bodybuilders or mannequins. They were real and they were spectacular. Some of them were dressed in weird clothes though. Chainmail bikinis for example. But that is a fact we can ignore here as the really important values of a human being are the inner ones. One of those fighters was Sana, a young barbarian woman from the high north, who was very fond of her inner values. She had a great heart, and as great hearts need a lot of space, her chest was quite ample, too. On top of that, her liver … well … let’s forget about her liver. Originally Sana was supposed to be the main character of this record but due to her constant drunkenness, unbelievably violent and rude behavior and the fact that all sorts of people complained about her rather simple clothing, the Imperial Academy of Written Tradition and Oral Lore had to reassess the situation. Therefore she will not be participating other than as a secondary character. But: Sana had a daughter. Only the great gods know how that happened, but it did – around twelve years before the beginning of this piece of history. From her early ages on, Barbaria seemed to be a very energetic child. There and back again, she roamed the lands, wandering through the forests and the grasslands, exploring mountains and battling aggressive waves at the sandy beaches of the Sea of Lethe. Yes. Barbaria was always on the road. Standing still and waiting was not her thing. She couldn’t just sit in the tavern and drink until she fell asleep roaring like a copulating dragon – something her mother had mastered long ago. And so the girl once again headed out, taking one of the axes of Al, the old woodcutter (a really big tool of destruction measuring almost her own height and weighting approximately seven pounds) and leaving Silvervane for the sake of catching a Glitterwolf. No one had ever seen such a creature or even heard of it, but Barbaria was certain: the white cat behind the workshop of Sáthach, the weapons manufacturer, had told her the truth when she described the wonderful and shimmering fur of this specific animal. Al asked her to stop. “She is an untrustworthy missy”, he warned the girl. But Barbaria felt she was on the right track. So she encouraged the faith of the old man: “I’ll get him”, and left with the big shiny axe on her shoulder. Her long, blond hair, the last of her to be seen before she disappeared into the woods. And what happened there will be told in the next chapter. ***
  3. This is a Dragyri Warrior ( I believe) from Dark Age, he was sent to me by @malefactus a while ago to contribute to my Lost World Project. WIP: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-glitterwolf-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/&page=117 In my Lost World he is Drakh a mutant turtle warrior. He has a pet Meso, a Raptor Hatchling from Bombshell Miniatures. Base is made with a Greenstuffworld Roller Pin and some tuft/flock. Here they are, the last pictures are with my Jungle Photobackdrop Board to show them in their natural habitat. Enjoy!

    IMPFESTATION by Glitterwolf

Not all was peace and quiet in the forest. Lately a group of little demons had infested the place. These Imps, Hordlings or whatever they were called, harassed the little animals, the fairies and they damaged the trees and the mushrooms. Even the Grand Mushroom watched in horror how they terrorized the Forest, but he could do nothing. One day the Imps captured one of the fairies and beat her up. She could barely escape and she fled crying. Almost leaving the forest, she came by a small dirt road, and she noticed a cart coming. Quickly she hid between the bushes. A wizard passed by, contemplating his latest spells, a cart filled with supplies. The donkey pulling the cart, was in no hurry it seemed. Slowly it passed by. The fairy looked at the cart, she sneaked into the back. The wizard didn't notice the little fairy rummaging through his supplies, he was too caught up in his spells. Suddenly the fairy noticed a bottle, the label said: Gigantic Growth. Feeling her blood rising to her cheeks she stole the bottle and hopped off the cart. She went back into the forest. The Imps saw her coming and started laughing. Clearly this one hadn't had enough! The fairy drank the potion, all of it, and in a moment she started to grow. One Imp said...this can't be good! The next moment the fairy had her revenge, she trampled the first Imp into the ground and chased the others. Even the Grand Mushroom felt sorry for the Imps now! For those interested WIP here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/71076-impfestation-by-xherman1964-mushroom-fairy-and-imps/ Components: Base - was a gift from the Awesome Knarthex! 5. A while ago Malefactus send me some miniatures as a gift to contribute to my Lost World Project. His friend Cpt. John saw it and decided to include this wonderful miniature. WIP here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-xherman1964-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/ EUREKA Miniatures 28mm War Turtle ( the Little ones are smaller but they fit right in). Thanks Malefactus and Cpt. John for this amazing gift! I hope I did it proud. I connected a few Tabletop Art Resin bases to create a bigger base for this monster. He is as big as a young tortoise would be in real life! I added a few resin pieces from Ristul's Market too, a centipede and a Saurus Skull, the other stuff was already sculpted on the base. Hope you like it.
  6. Another piece for my Lost World Project. WIP here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-glitterwolf-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/ I was inspired by @malefactus who made a few scenic photo backdrop boards. ( He also send me the War Turtle as a gift, he is in the last pic) I figured I'll give it a try, would be nice to take pics of finished recruits and monsters in the right surroundings. So I made this little board out of foam, Some greenstuff and Milliput on wood to create an Aztec Style Dungeon Door, I made the glyphs using a Greenstuffworld Rolling Pin. Vegetation made with a little plastic plant from a thrift store, Aztec Ruins from Greenstuffworld and lots of moss/flock and such which were a gift from the awesome @knarthex. Hope you enjoy it I have taken pics of my Lost World minis in this background and they can be seen in my Lost World Project. A few teasers are in here. Nothing too complicated, I kept it simple because it is "just" a backdrop. I had fun making it. Maybe I will make another one with an Undead/Gothic theme one day too. Well here it is.
  7. Happy birthday, O constructor of a wonderfully twisted, beautiful little world!

    Pumpkin Assassin - Malefactus.

Around Christmas I received a gift of the Pumpkin Assassin by our wonderful friend Malefactus. Shortly after I returned from Holiday, and I have been ill until three days from now (least no energy). I finally have completed (to my satisfaction) the Pumpkin Assassin. I have adored ever moment of painting, and basing him. Thank you kind sir for the challenge, the joy, and the ability to laugh and chuckle as I am sure you did while creating him. Here are some photo's to show what I have done with him. Now that I am healed (chuckles and screams probably helped a great deal) I will select the next project and push myself to improve my energy levels. Your comments/ and critiques are always welcome and solicited. Jay

  10. A little while ago I purchased Hasslefree's "Fairies Wear Boots" piece. The Gothic Punk like Fairy stomps on candy. Now I kept thinking that it would be fun to have her chasing little Imps and stomp those into the ground. So I got me some little familairs and stuff from Reaper. Then Malefacus ( Al) send me a wonderful Mushroom he sculpted. To top things off, Knarthex ( George) send me some stuff including a nice oval wooden plinth. Thinking about it all, I realised I now have the ingredients to start on this piece. The Idea is the Fairy chases Imps and Stomps a few into the ground. Maybe she swallowed a growth potion or something. Now she can finally have her revenge on those pesky Imps! The Mushroom watches the whole scene in horror. I will not use all these Imps/Demons, but I will take my pick which will suit the scene best. To complement the large Shroom, I will include some smaller resin mushrooms. Painting will follow later, but here are the ingredients:
