  1. I bought the Steampunk Wizard of Oz set for my daughter out of the Bones 3 KS. Naturally, I am doing it last minute for her birthday Tuesday, the 18th. So, here's the plan: A. Assemble them all on unfinished but sealed silver maple wood cuts using usual building materials. B. Basecoat them with simple but muted colors. C. Apply Sepia Wash and paint as needed to simulate a "colorized movie" look. Here's what we got so far: Dorothy and Toto on a Compass Rose beginning their adventure. The witch commanding her monkey. Dorothy glued in and brick road applied. Lion and brick road applied. Enjoy and stay tuned. More to come.
  2. Presenting the Manhunter, an evil slave trader from the Kingdom Death:- Monster game. I love the mini, it has such awesome textured skin, but he seems oddly out of place even in the weird and wacky world of Kingdom Death (I like to think he has actually wandered in from a different game). As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  3. I painted Reaper 03613 Angelica Fairweather. In my Lost World Project she is Rosetta Salazar, WIP here : http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-xherman1964-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/
  4. Finished this guy the other day. I am happy with how the face turned out.:
  5. Got this in a trade. The modifications are done by a friend. I completed the paint job.: Barrel was drilled after the pics were taken. :)
  6. For my upcoming Savage Worlds Mystery Men game I needed some Disco Boys for bad guys. I painted these up real quick, I need a bunch more. I gave this photo a "Grindhouse" look...
  7. Presenting an Empire Captain by Games Workshop, his WIP thread can be found here. Always liked the Empire faction with their fancy striped pants, and this guy was no exception. Had fun painting him too, except his cape (Grr... Capes! *Shakes fist angrily*). Came with a really tiny base, so I just gave him a basic grass one. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  8. Last miniature I have done for a friend archeologist as a gift. I hope you like it. Comments are more than welcome.
  9. Okay, now I am lost with regards to what weapon bits have been used, but body, and one arm, is flagellant, Warhammer fantasy. Head and one arm are from Techno priests, 40k. Cape with pocket and grenade is from imperial guardsmen, 40k. A space marine hand.. Noticed a few errors and nitpicks here and there when taking the pictures, but for the tabletop; I think it will do fine. Nothing I can't brush up on later. :) As the others, he's been painted with single colors, then washed with a darker version of said color. "Where we are going, we need no eyes to see.."
  10. The steampunk bug continues to bite hard! Decided to try one of my new Twisted minis, before I end up with an intimidatingly large pile of them, choose Dodger:- I hate it when they insist on making you cut those tiny, fragile pieces from great, big, giant lumps of sprue. As expected, removing him from the sprue cost him part of his scarf and coat, but I managed to do an okay job of repairing them. I also managed to assemble him slightly wrong looking at the official pics, apparently he's supposed to be aiming forward. Did his skin with a 1:1 Vallejo Dwarf Flesh/Vallejo Flat Flesh scheme. Also managed to get his teeth and eyes (no pupils though, they're too tiny!). Started on his hair with Palomino Gold.
  11. The latest completed mini from my Restoring the Balance WIP thread:- Still not really seeing the 'Oz' connection, but he's a cool mini nevertheless. The highlights on the back of his coat could've used a bit more work to get them blended a bit better, but overall I'm happy with how he turned out. Any comments and criticisms are, as always, greatly appreciated.
  12. Continuing with my twin philosophies of "starting lots of miniatures results in finishing lots of miniatures" and "paint whatever you feel like," I have decided to start on a Hasslefree mini I picked up at ReaperCon last year. I like the HF sculpts, but they are fairly expensive so I've only acquired the one. Apologies for the small picture, but there's not a whole lot to see yet. I've lined the eyes with P3 Coal Black, RMS Fair Skin on the face, arms and midriff, Linen White for the shirt and P3 Wurm Green for the hair. I'm hoping to get some color suggestions from the forum. The shirt, vest, gloves, pants and boots are the main color areas. Most of those areas need to be bright so the hair will match. (She's also wearing a Hello, Kitty backpack which I plan to paint in standard Hello, Kitty colors). The first idea I had was white shirt, red vest, blue jeans, black gloves and boots, but that might not be bright enough. I could use the green from the hair on either the shirt or the vest, or maybe a light yellow. Teal might be a better choice for the paints then. Thoughts?
  13. This is another vignette from my private collection. This is another figure that I love and have painted (4) color versions of her. I submitted this figure to the Inspiration Gallery and have heard nothing.
