  1. Hello, With the updates to the rules I figured I should get more painting done for Warmachine. I have found I paint faster with feedback, and as the previous forum I was using slowed considerably, I was invited here by a regular. The first group on the block is most of the rest of my mercs. There's a few more that will likely need their own threads later. It's a range of new and old, so from Left to right: Herne and Jonne - PIP Code: 41005 The two black based minis, I got them at a miniature market swap meet type event with MK1 cards, so they're probably the oldest minis in this. Bases are Secret weapon resin Town Square Bases. Gorman di Wulfe - PIP Code: 41014 He'll be the second time I've painted this model. Ghordson Basher - PIP Code: 41082 Back row, and falling down, because I tend to paint in parts. Devil's Shadow Mutineers - PIP Code: 41104 These three are on modified secret weapon blasted wetlands bases, three pirates in the front row. Classic Mule PIP Code: 41019 - Metal mule, because I enjoy the design a bit more than the conglomerated kit plastic kit, standing on a secret weapon Town Square Base. Rutger Shaw PIP Code: 41075 - Should have been painted a long time ago, as evidenced by the partial base coat. Ashlynn D'elyse PIP Code: 41090 - Awesome mini, huge banner that I don't know what to do with yet. Gastone Crosse Kickstarter Edition (no pip code) - one of the daggers is cracked so I'll need to repair it somehow in this wip.
  2. Couple things for Patrons: Anson Durst: Zaal:
  3. I really love making minis for our RPG group- and here is a party for one of our campaigns. The group consisted of three trollkin and a farrow (who might have been a trollkin in a previous life- or maybe the next one). Only the first one has no conversion elements. The one with the fell blades was a Fell Caller with Doomreaver levels. Overall, I feel that this was one of our poorer intelligence parties- it was kind of a surprise that they ever got much done.
  4. Harrison Gibbs for Warmachine. I went with purple to focus more on his Laelese nature. And as a result of the need for complimentary colour contrast, the cat ended up orange.
  5. I normally wouldn't buy from Privateer Press as the minis are just too pricey, but i found these second hand at Half Price Books for under $8. Anyway, they make a fine troop of Wraiths for my Undead Kings of War army, and painted up really quickly. Tried out some fog effect too (shredded cotton ball). Took pictures with a two different light setups as I'm trying to figure out my wife's camera phone (mine is junk), I liked 'em both so you get to see 'em both.
  6. I play in an RPG group that has been meeting weekly for a good long time. Our favorite setting is the Iron Kingdoms- we started back when it used the D&D rules and we've kept playing with the new system. The new system hasn't been around as long, and we often have to convert the old statlines into the new system ourselves- especially for some of the epic monsters that Privateer Press isn't ready to explore yet. Here is Chilon. He is a Giant of Bemoth who was captured by the Skorne and forced to labor for them. Last he was seen in official cannon, he refused to fight for the Skorne, but we felt that it was only a matter of time before his will was completely broken. I converted this mini from the Ultraforge Giant to match the IK artwork- so he lost his nose, and had to have his hands rexculpted. I also replace his weapon with something that looked a little more Skorne. So here he is- mounted on a CD (120mm base)
  7. 75mm resin mini Primed and put mostly together The color scheme Todd picked out Started the skin
  8. All of these were commissioned, painted to a display or high tabletop level... Druid Gone Wilder - Privateer Press Artemisa II - for Bloodbowl - RN Estudio, Spain Wood Elf Sorceress - GW Cheerbeer Girls - Valkyries Team for Bloodbowl - Sukkubus Studios Nurse - Valkyries Team for Bloodbowl - Sukkubus Studios Markers - Valkyries Team for Bloodbowl - Sukkubus Studios A couple of others for Bloodbowl - Willy Miniatures
  9. Teraph from privateer press. I'm very sad right now. I should have 2 minis to post, but the paint crackled up in some areas when I spray sealed the other. It even happened a little bit on one of this guys legs. I've sealed a lot of minis so far and have never seen that happen. I'm going to have to strip the other one and start over :( Then a leg came off this guy while basing him. Not sure what happened to the glue and putty. Then I look down and paint flaked off in a ring all the way around one of his ankles??? I may have over did it with the snow too. I felt like a Big Fail after painting, but the next day I looked at him and realized I cleaned it up pretty good and was a bit more happy about the mini.
  10. Thagrosh, Prophet of Everblight. The very first Legion of Everblight model I have ever painted. All thanks to my Patrons for choosing it. Now, one of them gets to win it. Rest assured, there are videos coming out that will feature this big fella, covering both his skin, and horns. However, YouTubers will have to wait until January 9 for the public release of the first video. You can watch them if you're a Patron before the end of the month. He was a really fun model to paint. He's one of those models that has just the right amount of detail. Enough bits and bobs to make it fun, and not tedious. I think I sunk about 20 hours into this one, although it didn't seem like it at all. He was actually finished quicker than it felt. And that's probably because I was really enjoying myself. I stuck pretty closely to the studio scheme here as well. Onto the pics!
  11. Okay, here we go. I have this lovely Warpwolf Stalker, which I painted a while ago. I have, since I leveled up a bit, revisited the stalker. Here is the original picture: Here is the current front view (and other views) I'm really happy with the extension of what I have done with him, and I'm much happier with the figure as a whole. Any C&C is welcome, but I think I improved significantly from the initial painting to the reworking I've done on this one. C&C is welcome on this one.
  12. In case you don't follow my channel, or my Patreon page, this is what is known as the 'Monthly Model'. Patrons vote on a model I should paint. I paint it. Then I raffle it off to my Patrons. This is the first. The first of many more to come. Enough text. Pictures. Right?? And a 360 video: https://youtu.be/k26VgNfIaiA
  13. Sooooooo glad to have this guy finally off of my desk. I personally think I was too meticulous with it. But, that's ok, since it's for my own army.
  14. This one's been sitting and gathering dust for a while. Good thing my client is a patient guy. I just went with my gut on what colours to choose. Even though she's extremely itty-bitty, she was a pretty fun paint. Due to that she went pretty quick. I think it was about 7 hours spent on her. Or there-abouts.
  15. Picked up some Hordes minis cheap and thought this guy would make a fun monster for my players. Came out a bit glossier than I intended. Put on some matte sealer on after the gloss, but I think I oversealed it. The white markings are supposed to be tendons and ligaments. A friend pointed out that it looked like it had outgrown its shell, so I was trying to make it look like raw, exposed muscle. The bones are done with a simple bone color, followed by a wash, then highlighted and finally given an edge highlight. It doesn't show up so well here, but there's a fair amount of Blood For the Blood God slathered around on the red bits. The basing was done with oxid paste, painted and highlighted, and done up with a little static grass and some swamp tufts. Not sure what stats I'll give him, but it should be a fun fight.
  16. Hello everyone, meet Rusty! Rusty was an experiment about a year ago to see how I could do with a lot of weathering on a figure, and I had a blast working on him. I decided on heavy weathering since my primary warcaster is a Pirate and I figured that the non aquatic units would be more worse for wear. I enjoyed it so much I might have to make the second part of the name that I've occasionally used official and start a family of Rusty warjacks.
  17. Finally finished these guys. Since they were the test scheme, there are some flaws. The purple doesn't match quite exactly, but that will come with time anyways. I'm very happy with how the whites have turned out, and the traditional 2bb method for it produces excellent results. Of course immediately after I snapped the photos I dropped the leader and he now requires some repairs.... Anyways, the Wrecker is up next. I'll be taking a break from filming for a week, as I spend the week clearing out my basement for electrical work. So, that means a break from the painting desk for a bit as I get that sorted. I also can't seem to get the purple to look true on camera either. It keeps coming out much cooler than it actually is.
  18. I posted this figure in the WIP forum to ask for critiques, and the critiques I received help me improve her a lot. Before I was really unhappy with how the figure was looking, and now I'm really happy with how she came out. I may still tweak some things, as she's for a painting competition and I still have a month to make changes. If you have any other critiques, I'd love to hear them! In order to be friendly to people on phones or other slow internet connections, especially given the large number of pics, all pictures are small compressed jpgs that link to higher-resolution, higher quality versions of the same image. The figure represents Fiona the Black, and is a conversion based on the old Fiona model and the satyxis sea witch. As always, comments, questions, and constructive criticism are welcome and encouraged!
  19. I wasn't sure whether to post this in WIP or Show Off as the paintjob is essentially done, but I'm not really happy with it and I wanted critiques so I'm posting it here. I can't really put my finger on why I'm not happy with the paintjob, but I'm not happy with it, and I'm hoping some critiques might help me figure out how to fix it. So please, don't hold back! Because of the 150k size limits on pictures, they all link to larger, higher quality pictures so you can see the detail better. Please take a look at let me know what you think could be improved.

  21. Here's an odd mini that I got to paint up. While he is a Monsterpocalypse mini, he really got painted for our Iron Kingdoms RPG. We had an eccentric mechanic who got to build her own warjack. I don't remember what rules the 'jack used, but it was extremely important that it look sort of like a dinosaur (or dragon spawn). Anyway, here it is:
  22. One last shot at these WIP things. I've got a themed WIP here: Dave's Thornfall Alliance. I'm giving them a wasteland theme, and right now, I've got: Lord Carver, BMMD, Esq., III Rorsh & Brine Razor Boars (x2) Slaughterhousers (Leader & 5 Grunts) Farrow Brigands (Leader & 9 Grunts) Farrow Brigand Warlord Meat Thresher War Hog Maximus ...so this is going to be a fairly long WIP, which you are joining already in progress. Some of these guys are already based: Carver, Rorsh & Brine, and the Razor Boars 2 Random Farrow (from Iron Kingdoms Unleashed), and the Slaughterhousers I started working on Lord Carver, Bringer of Much Massive Destruction, Esquire, the Third (known as Immortan Carver from here on) first (after finishing my Secret Sophie project). Immortan Carver's Pretty Much Everybody's Basecoat: Cloak/Loincloth - Sample Rusty Red Fur/Flesh - Sample Muddy Brown Shoulder Fur - P3 Cryx Bane Highlight Steel - Vallejo Oily Steel Bronze - GW Tin Bitz (Warplock Bronze) Leather - Reaper 09110 Oiled Leather Tusks - GW Kommando Khaki (Karak Stone) At the point in the above photos, his cloak had been highlighted with Reaper 09111 Burnt Orange, and his metallics had been washed with P3 Armor Wash.
  23. This model is nicknamed "Bad Santa" by Warmachine players, I think because of his appearance and since traditional Khador colors are red, white and gray. As I painted him, I kept imagining him saying "Ho ho ho, who's been a good warjack this year?," as he has an ability to give a present (a point of Focus) to a warjack. So I decided to double-down on the Christmas theme and pull out my MSP Christmas Wreath and a slightly darker red than normal for Khador (MSP Big Top Red) for the primary colors on him. He actually came out a bit nicer-looking than I had planned on.
  24. First warlock for my Thornfall Alliance Fury Road-themed army. Meet Immortan Carver: Kind of a speed paint; I probably only spent a total of about four hours on him. Been in a bit of a slump lately, and I'm trying to break out of it. As always, c & c welcome. EDIT: Whoops. Totally forgot to add his dead grass tufts before the photos. BACK TO THE WORKBENCH, CARVER!
  25. I met my goal for October by finishing these guys off. I have been meaning to post them for the RPChallenge but I haven't had time until now. There are areas I like quite a bit on these guys and other areas that I feel quite "meh" about. But they are painted and ready to be added to my new Khador army. For the game table I am happy with them. Here are two group shots. I took some individual photos but do not want to overwhelm the thread unless anyone would really like to see some closeups. C&C welcome as always. I hope you guys like them.
