  1. Metalchaos

    Lizardmen aka Troglodytes

From the thick bushes on either side of the road, a volley of javelins flies towards you. You try to take cover while a second volley is hurled. Heavy rain makes it uneasy to see anything. The bushes rustle, and your assailants appear next to you. It's a group of four reptilian humanoids about six feet tall. Their roughened leathery scales shift from grayish brown to green. A disgusting smell sickens you as the chameleon-like creatures attack you with their primitive weapons, their teeth and claws. Here are the Lizardmen, Dark Heaven Bones sculpted by Gene Van Horne. 2. Another Snake Warrior for my Lost World. WIP Here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-glitterwolf-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/&page=120 This is Reaper Warlord 14187 Ssathuss. A Nagendra Warrior.
  3. I finished this guy Friday night, he was a rescue from the melt table at last Reapercon. He was relatively quick to paint, and pretty fun, too. Some of the shading I did on his 'belly' scales is hard to see due to the angle of the pics, but what you see on his bottom half is also present on his chest area, too. I got his eyes looking pretty good (although to be fair, they are a bit bigger than the average human sized figures eyes). I had thought about giving him some patterns on his scales, but decided against it. The base was one of the first ones I've done using base stamps; I'm not entirely happy with it, but it's not awful, either. More practice both with the stamps, and with what material I use for the base is in order. This one was straight Green Stuff. Thanks for looking, please let me know what you think. ETA----I put 2 SKU numbers in the title because he is available either by himself (14423) or in a multi-pack with 9 total figures (06155).
  4. After some work WIP here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/61706-xherman1964-tries-to-paint-a-crocodile/ My Beloved of Sobek. A nice friendly Crocodile who wants nothing more then to hug you. I tried to copy the natural colours from a Nile Crocodile. Hope it worked. Base is a Resin Scenic Jungle Base from Microarts Studios, a mini in itself. A real joy to paint these two. Enjoy. He will also try to compete in a beauty contest. http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/58879-2015-annual-contest-non-reaper-entries/?p=1148361

    Khong-To, Reptus Warlord - 14092

1st off, this guy is difficult to find key words for when looking him up in Reapers miniatures sale pages. Dragon Warrior doesn't pull him up, neither does dragonkin, half dragon or lizard warrior ( most of which pull up a lot of models in the same class.) If the sales are low, it may be because he is hard to know he exists. Originally he was going to be a good D&D dragon, most likely gold. Then coincidentally a friend wanted a bunch of bad half dragons for a campaign and I mentioned I had just picked this one up. He wanted each a different color and this one was going to be either white or blue. White was tough and the sculpt made it even tougher. I really had to jam the paintbrush in a lot of crevasses and create a few painted up scales that I felt were missing. In the end I am proud of this one. White is tough and he was the first small model I have painted since knocking out a couple of very large balefire gates for a friends GW table. This site has a new look since I have last been on. I will have to look around if I have the time today.
  7. Ok, I'm entering datacards from the 2ed rulebook into a new database and ran across this model with the MAV stats showing as: I am pretty sure this is backwards - but could someone please clarify?
  8. Glitterwolf

    14471 Snakeman By Glitterwolf

WIP and Story here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-xherman1964-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/ I had a lot of fun painting this guy, hope you like him, Based on a Tabletop Art Resin Base.
  9. Sorry for the 'batch' aspect, but... it is indeed a batch submission of some of the last pieces coming out of the production line for Septembre and October. I couldn't really decide which one to post so here you go :)

MINE - Diorama- 06198 Reptus Raptors

A face off between a victorious hunter and a scavenging layabout. The dead Parasaurolophus is hand-sculpted by me WIP thread here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/61699-mine-wip-diorama/page-8#entry1393003

    14139: Krungbeast, Reptus Monster

From my Pathfinder campaign: The oldest creatures still left over from the original settlers of the valley are lumbering beasts of burden, the krungbeasts. Their handler, the gnome Kiranora, rents them out wherever they're needed most ... pulling out huge stumps, dragging heavy loads, or working in conditions too dangerous for horses.

    Modified 14225: Ra'am, Reptus Hero

I recently modified and painted the 14225: Ra'am, Reptus Hero figure for use as a D&D 5e character. Character Inspiration: Race: White Dragonborn Class: Barbarian Background: Pirate Place of Origin: Luskan, City of Sails I did many modifications to represent this character. Base: is scratch-built from polystyrene to represent the gunwale of a Viking longboat. The water is sculpted milliput. The bag is a plastic piece from some 1:72 scale minitaure kit. The rope is a coil of Gale Force 9 product. Weapons: The sword is a reaper sword from a weapons blister can't remember which one. I notched it with a round file to give it a serrated back edge. The javelins are scratch-built with polystyrene rod and string. The javelin quiver is scultpted milliput. Shield: I took strips of polystyrene and bonded them together to make the planks of the shield. I used thin sheet polystyrene to make the outer skin of the shield and placed gouges in it to reveal the planks below. Brass Key: A large key made from bent wire and polystyrene hangs from a cord around his neck. This is a bit of backstory character detail. I use primarily Vallejo and reaper paints thinned with glass cleaner (Windex). The miniature has dynamic pose that gives it so much life. As I was looking for a figure for this character, I was instantly drawn to the idea of my dragonborn pirate leaping over the side of a gunwale to board an enemy ship. Overall, it was a very fun project. I think I took the figure in a whole new direction, and I am pleased with how it turned out. Original miniature for comparison:

    77060, Bones Dragonman Warrior

So...first of my docket of 4 (other 3 pics coming later) is this little guy I painted up for GMPathfinder for Secret Sophie. I...Don't know why I have an fascination with blue DMM, but hey, I think it worked better than my last experiment with such. I know the dark flocking got TOO dark when I glued it, and I'll need to keep that in mind for future reference. C&C Welcome
  14. Logrim Battlefury leads his patrol through the wastelands of the sandhills. Abandoned buildings of what used to be a small village sit nestled in the valley. A'arrock, Logrim's griffon companion streaks through the sky to the far side of the village. Logrim advances his patrol, muttering "That fool bird is gonna get killed one day flying too far ahead!" Suddenly, A'arrock plummets to the ground. It did not look like his normal stooping dive, so Logrim double times the patrol to see what's up. ******* Uru, the River Troll was leading a motley crue of misfits into the barren wastelands. Why did Khong-To want him out here? There was little water to be had, and the troops were always complaining about not having enough water. If Khong-To wanted them out here so much, why did he poison the well at the village they were approaching? What's this? Scouts are reporting a griffon approaching above the village. Reading his patrol, Uru has Ssudai attempt to ground the bird so it can't report his presence to the Dwarves. From hiding, Ssudai successfully brings down the griffon on a small hill just this side of the village. Uru's archers open fire while his ground troops charge up the hill to engage the griffon. The griffon puts ups a good fight, wounding a few of his troops, but is only able to kill one of them before dying. ******* Logrim and his patrol reach the far edge of the village, only to see the griffon go down, surrounded by a reptus patrol. Logrim's scouts have not reported any enemy troops in the area, so this is a bit of surprise. Issuing the advance command, Logrim's patrol engages the Reptus patrol on the hill. Crossbowmen take down one of the wounded soldiers, but before the dwarven soldiers can advance, a giant river troll leading more ground troops comes out of the tree line. ******** My son and a good friend of mine wanted to learn to play Warlord, since that's pretty much what I have been talking about since Reapercon... We built two 500 point armies from my two vampire packs. My son just had to have a griffon... 20% of the total build... My buddy chose Reptus, since those were the "cool" models in front of him on the table when we sorted out all the figures. Both were gung-ho when they started, talking smack about how fast the other would be going down... 2.5 hours later, just having finished the second turn as we spent a lot of time talking about tactics, mistakes in placement (after it was done), how one set of my dice is "fickle" and the other set seems to be "loaded" for my boy, but definitely "counterloaded" for my buddy... They each killed a few of the soldier level mobs, didn't really get into casting much. Made the mistake of not having a healer in my son's troop, which might have saved the griffon... All in all, we had a great time! Son had so much fun, he started asking at breakfast on Sunday morning when we could play again. We played so long on Sunday afternoon, I missed the first 35 minutes of the USA vs Portugal World Cup Match! That AAR will be posted soon!
  15. I recently concluded a Savage Worlds campaign set in Adon (Reaper's own fantasy setting.) I made the mistake of opening up all of the races to the players, and ended up with quite a, um, diverse group. Still, it gave me an excuse to paint up custom figures for each of them. The colors were chosen according to the players' wishes. All of the miniatures are stock except for the barbarian (his axe haft was way too thin and broke off, so I pinned the head and sculpted new wood around it) and the dwarf (I converted his hammer out of the original axe to fit the character.) From left to right, they were: San'jon, a Mongkohn (Reptus) priest of Payanak, seeking evidence of Mongkohn in the north (the campaign took place in Vestonia and Anhur.) Vi-et, a Koblorlas exiled for refusing to accept the will of the pack regarding his future (he showed shamanic abilities, but had no desire to follow that path.) Oro Jarnvald, a dwarven Runeforger from Kragmarr (custom spellcasting style in which a dwarf can cast a limited number of spells, but only by imbuing his weapons and armor with runes and releasing the power through them.) Komac, a barbarian from Heimdall looking to discover his own worth.
  16. Because of the convergence of fields I wasn't sure where I'd get the best response. I chose CP&T as the most relevant... As a Bones supporter I'm getting http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/almaran/sku-down/03292 which is an almost perfect match for my character. Except it's human... and wingless. My paladin is a Scion of Arkhosia so I need wings and a head swap. I don't want to go crazy and get the Dragonman Conversion Kit just for 2 pieces... I can use the head from the Dragonman Warrior I'm already getting then buy a pair of wings. So this is where I ask for your help. Will metal wings unbalance the Bonesium mini ? Suggestions to prevent/counter-act if they will ? Any Reptus Warlord players with info on the stability of the winged models ? Any recommendations of which wings would be the best fit ? The pictures in the gallery while accurate, aren't the most helpful for me.

    14092: Khong-To

This is my Dragonborn Warlord in my buddy's current DnD game. I went for copper dragon scales. This is my first attempt at oxidized copper touches, and at doing 'colored armor'.
