Sylverthorne posted a topic in KickstarterAnd now, for something completely different. Yes, yes. I know. Not miniatures. But! Shiny! Art! With.. with .. with stuff. *Sage nod* The book part usually gets shipped with efficiency; medals and patches and things seem to depend on the efficiency of the crafter making them, but communication is good and things generally show up. I haven't grabbed hardbacks; I've been happy with the soft covers.
Non-Mini, PC Video Game - Dinosaur / prehistoric animal Tycoon. Accurate models, highly customizable gameplay I know it's not mini-related, but I also know some of you might have kids who like dinosaurs (or like them yourself), and this is a good educational game because they actually did research, applied current and up to date science to their models, and i figured some people here might actually be interested. If not? Ah well! I just thought i'd make a post for it There are 50 Species planned for Early Access, with more planned "Prehistoric Kingdom is a modern take on the tycoon simulator game genre, focused on building and managing your very own prehistoric-themed zoo, populating it with a large variety of extinct animals and opening its gates to the public for your guests to enjoy. As such, our main goals with the project can be brought down to three major aspects: Ensuring a high level of customization for buildings and their placement modes, allowing for almost limitless creative potential. With multiple creative tools provided to help you build the ultimate prehistoric zoo, the possibilities are endless. Providing a fairly realistic and scientifically accurate in-game depiction of each animal, from its looks to its sounds and behavior. Each and every creature is designed and created with the utmost love and attention. Offering challenging, detailed, and enjoyable management mechanics that will immerse you even more in the very world that you built! "

knarthex posted a topic in Painting Tips & AdviceSo while painting during the hangouts, Was extolling the virtues of Dullcote, not realizing that everyone does not have the airbrushing station in a climate controlled area that I do, and it got me to thinking about some of the other sealers that I have on my desk.... So I decided to test the Aztek Airbrush Clear Matte, as it comes in a 2oz (59.1ml) bottle, and it is still available at places like Michael's, AC Moores, and Hobby Lobby. (I bought mine at one of the three, forget which ) So I sprayed my Bones Seoni mini that has been used as a test for Grey liner through an airbrush, and other things, and gave it 2 quick coats of Testors Glosscote, so we could see what we could see.... This gave me something suitably shiny for my test. Since everyone doesn't have an airbrush, I brushed on the Clear Matte... When it dried, it was still shiny, so I did another coat... And here are the results.... Still a bit shiny as far as I am concerned.... But as people on the hangout reminded e, different companies define "MATTE" differently, so if that is the effect you are looking for, it might work for you! Will need to test others as well, I have a Bottle of Polly S Flat Finish as well, but I believe that it is Out Of Production... Might do a coat of that over these results for my own knowledge, and will post the results.... For Science! George
