  1. Beginning my theorizing for ReaperCon. I originally liked the Incubus and was heading toward making it primarily focus around him but was having trouble finding something to work with other than just landing on something. Then I figured he could be in a duel with another winged being. Then I got to the point where I was thinking the Darkspawn Succubus might make for a good opponent for our teenage boy... so I ordered them. So I could discuss this with my mentor, I took some approximate photos for a discussion point: And by the time my lesson rolled around, I was thinking I could call it something like: We talked about how to work around this and I have a better understanding of where and why I can and should do some things. And ways to show what I am trying to convey more clearly. This was very very helpful. As I get into dealing with the figures and bringing this to life, I'll try to show what we talked about and why I am doing them. Let the countdown begin! 187 Days till ReaperCon...
  2. One of my Bones minis. The succubus that was released in Bones II (I think). She is painted up as the redeemed succubus of my world who became the Goddess of Vengeance (She has a bit of a temper and holds grudges). So her is Fiona... Front view only as her backside refuses to photograph properly. Still working on improving my camera skills for this
  3. So I'm pretty new to the painting scene - just started about a month and a half ago after playing off-and-on for 15 years with a couple of unpainted minis. After about 20 little fellows, I finally have one that I think is mostly 'ok' - I know her eyes and mouth are still pretty terrible, but I just don't have the fine brush control (yet) to do more than blobs at this stage. :D edit - add tags
  4. Does anyone have stats (data card) for the 14333 Darkspawn Succubus figure? It is not in the datacard search :(
  5. Ever accidentally grab the wrong sealant and not realize it until it's too late? I am very happy with her hair though. The wing assembly came together with a piece of her hair that was somehow badly damaged and had huge gaps. This gave me an opportunity to try out Liquid Green Stuff for the first time! Her eyes were great, but unfortunately there's not enough contrast for them to be very visible under normal lighting. Astute observers may note that she's not actually a "chained" succubus. I suspect that the chain is probably wherever her hair ended up. :-)
  6. I'm back! I had a long time of not being able to paint owing to being extremely busy, but after months, I've finally found the time to paint again So, on to the mini ^^ I felt quite rusty painting Sophie, but I think she came out well in the end. I'm particularly pleased with the colour on her wings Getting an angle on her face was hard... Photos arent amazing quality as I have a new phone that I'm still getting used to ^^;
  7. Another day, another miniature for me to post. This one I was a little unsure of if I should post, but with how nice everyone has been I think I should! This one is the Pirate Sophie miniature, I saw it on Ebay and knew I had to have it! I have tried to make the parrot as realistic as I could, and for the photos I took heed of the advice given by Chaoswolf in the thread about my Wyvern, and have tried to get better light, though it has not been easy with my resources! Anyway here's the pictures, comments and advice are gratefully received!!
  8. Mini number 8 completed This is Semira Marise, the last of my Hasslefree minis, made by Kev White, though I'll try and get some different photos of her, as these have come out a tad strange. Paints used... Citadel -White Scar -Kislev Flesh -Khorne Red -Nuln Oil -Seraphim Sepia -Druchii Violet -Blood for the Blood God -Leadbelcher -Runelord Brass -Auric Armour -Caledor Sky? -Mechanicus Standard Grey P3 -Cold Steel -Bloodtracker Brown -Thamar Black -Umbral Umber -Menoth White Highlight I decided to paint her as the dignified priestess, who had perhaps summoned my two succubi, or something =] so she's all wise and stuff. Sadly, you can't see her eyes in these shots, which is all the more annoying as I was rather pleased with them, haha. Lotsa Blood for the Blood God, because one doesn't simply summon demons without getting one's hands dirty, and her lovely white robe... Well, it was once a white robe. I painted her pristine in white scar, then put lots of dirt on with nuln oil and seraphim sepia, and then bloodied her up some. Now I'm all outta unpainted minis, bar finishing off Ebonwrath, until my next order arrives :O but hopefully, that'll bring me my lovely Nethyrmaul and a few other bits and bats too.
  9. Couple more demons for my Wrath of the Righteous campaign. This time its a succubus and the innocent new girl in town, Mary Lith. Bases are chaos bases from a recent CMON kickstarter. The marilith is based on a coral snake pattern and the succubus is based on a naked chick. Thanks! Thanks to carnacki for filling me in on the nudity policy which i should have read. The Following links contain nudity (though I dont know why a shirtless man is less offensive than a shirtless woman) Succubus http://i61.tinypic.com/142zdoh.jpg http://i62.tinypic.com/okd8vo.jpg http://tinypic.com/m/j5d0df/4 Marilith http://tinypic.com/m/j5d0dg/4 http://tinypic.com/m/j5d0di/4 http://tinypic.com/m/j5d0dk/4
  10. One of last week's accomplishments. The armor was a PITA, the detail is so soft in places I couldn't tell what I was painting.
  11. A week or so ago, I ordered two of HassleFree's succubi, and they arrived yesterday. I think they're rather delightful and their faces are a lot more attractive in person than they are on their site, and they also reminded me strongly of the succubi from the Witcher saga... As such, I decided to paint them in a similar style =] and this means I had the joy of working out how to paint on their lovely tattoos. Now, for me, that's a hella lot of lines, and I wasn't at all sure I could fit those on a 28mm succubus, so I toned it down a bit and simplified, but still kept them in mind. So here they are Links because nekkidness! Citadel -Kislev Flesh -Flayed One Flesh -Nuln Oil -Mechanicus Standard Grey -Seraphim Sepia -White Scar -Drakenhof Nightshade P3 -Thamar Black -Menoth White Highlight So yar =] there they be. I tried putting a bit of a wash on the tattoos on the black haired one, but I think ultimately it just messed it up =[ I liked it a lot more before I did that, and I've not the energy to correct it all today... It's not too bad now though, as I did correct some of it.
  12. Yaaay, I finished a mini =D I've been eyeballing this little lady for a bit, and I ended up ordering her alongside my Ebonwrath.... Now, as she's nekkid, these shall be links! Front: https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xtp1/v/t1.0-9/11891131_10153258967138451_3801146803951602667_n.jpg?oh=e3f80a9d9be7d85f7f283cf73a0c2558&oe=5649B23B Back: https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xtf1/v/t1.0-9/11892066_10153258967188451_8020524046940177226_n.jpg?oh=46027ef088001c25f00c45b8fb7636b5&oe=56846BF9 3/4 Angle - https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpt1/v/t1.0-9/11855617_10153258967213451_8368979230337276185_n.jpg?oh=41b53585061737646d9367ff39c012f6&oe=568318C2 Photos are just taken with my phone, so they're not incredible, but I did throw together a quick backdrop and a little stand for her for these, so... Woo =] Painted her with Citadel Paints (Khorne Red, Warpfiend Grey, Naggaroth Nightshade, Auric Armour, Druchii Violet, Nuln Oil and Blood For the Blood God - the last of which is a technical paint which I bought for fun, because I was curious) and some P3 (Thamar Black, Menoth White Highlight and Umbral Umber)=] I admit, I didn't have a whole lot of a plan when I started painting her, but she was quite fun even if painting the gap between her back and wings was a pain in the butt. If I was to redo this mini, I'd probably cut the wings off, paint her, then reassemble her. But yay, I finished a thing =D
  13. This is the most extensive modification I have done to a figure. I sculpted her dress and filled in the wing holes in her hair. I also have the original, so if I want some skin practice I will paint her up with the same hair color.
  14. I relatively recently took up gaming again, and created a few Necromunda gangs. First out was Encforcers and Eschers, and this miniature was modified for the cause:
  15. Just finished my last mini for January. Virina, the not-succubus. I think based on the nudity I need to link to her. So follow the links to her. front back There's a bit of weirdness that seems to be happening around her rib cage on the sculpt that I just couldn't figure out so that's just painted skin tone. Not super proud of her skin, looks a little uneven and chalky. But for tabletop from a little ways a way it's not terrible. Happy with her hair. I'll take any suggestions to how to avoid whatever I did wrong with her skin. I mean, I think part of the goofy is the sculpt, but definitely a lot of it is poor technique. Appreciate feedback.
  16. I used the breast cancer awareness pink I got in my ghoul bag on her nips. Originally thought she was holding a whip. Nope, thats her hair.
  17. July painting. Posted to avoid being overly mammalian The front looks just as good. comparison between base coating with yellow and working outward (5+ days) , and jut doing highlights (1 day) This guy appears to have a fish in a weapon holster. I name him Fish Knight! Other stuff: some reposted
  18. Here is my Super Dungeon Succubus. Man, she was loads of fun to paint. The color scheme is loosely based on Millenia from Grandia II, but the mini doesn't look all that much like her to begin with (and I didn't want to alter her since she's such a great mini to start out with.
  19. I started painting my ringmaster Sophie last night and put a little more work in tonight. Still working on base coating. I thought I did a really great job with the eyes... then I took a look at my photo. I think the right eye (her left) needs to get redone. Colors used so far: Carnival Purple, Big Top Red, Palamino Gold, Noir Black, Caucasian Flesh
  20. Here's a link to another miniature I finished recently. It's linked for some exposed lactators. This was probably one of the first succubae I'd ever seen, and always liked the figure. I actually have one that I painted probably thirty years ago, but this was another one I'd had in the basement, so it's kind of the revamping of a miniature I'd done long, long ago. It was actually a present for a buddy who also had this as an unpainted figure in his display case. http://www.miniatures-workshop.com/lostminiswiki/index.php?title=Image:Succubus.jpg
