  1. After ALL this Time I am going to Post a WIP ??? Well, I broke all my rules about painting a miniature with this one. I designed the BASE FIRST (do that last Normally). Attached the figure to the base, its glued and pinned (becoming a nut-job really). So now I have to paint this puppy on its base, and I have NO CLUE as to what it is. Two eyes, claws, lots of mouth, furry, and VERY Little. Might be smaller than my dwarf that I posted. I believe it is. So I'll try to post photos as I go about this. Maybe I'll learn something, maybe not. Here is the start of the little Woolly creature on his base made from a piece of 1000 year old oak bark, taken from the area where the crotch of a limb might have been. Toss a comment in if you feel like it. Jay

    TBM3016 King Pelenore (on Foot)

The Temperature here has been in the Ninety's since I finished painting The Hawkman. I didn't think I finish this next one today. Too hot to go outside, so had extra time to devote to it. Firstly, this is 25MM (that is the size of a U.S. Quarter). The shield is about 1/4 inch in size. I usually keep the basing simple on the Arthurian's since I intend to base them all together into two Dioramas when they are done. When I learn something new, I go back to my beloved Tom Meier sculpts and repeat what I have learned on a much smaller scale. I adore Tom's work, and I will always come back to them to learn to control the new technique. I have added a few adjusted photos, to incorporate some requested modifications by UB3R, and robinh. Think they were RIGHT ON with their suggestions. I have done the mounted version of him already, you can find it by clicking the Jasonator tab above. Your Comments/Critiques are earnestly sought after. Please leave me a comment if you like what I have done. Here is the Dismounted King Pelenore.

    TBM-3021 - Black Knight

This is a 25mm mini (that's one inch tall)...I always forget to say that when I do one of Tom's mini's. This is SMALL..Very Small..LOL. I love the darn things for some reason. Tom is a fantastic sculptor, and I adore anything that he sculpts. Just realize it WILL be a challenge. I approached the Black Knight on foot (I have another mounted) with a lot of trepidation. Its complex. The shield if 1/4 by 1/4 of an inch, and that lion took a small brush, and absolute breathing control to do. So.. Here is my interpretation of the Black Knight. Your comments, and critique are greatly appreciated. Its the only feedback I get now since I no longer do the WIPs. Here is the Black Knight.

    Noble Oak Guard Autumn, TBM

I tend to use Tom Meirer's sculpts as teaching lessons for myself. They are intricate, and sophisticated. They can be very challenging. I chose to make it more difficult with my color choices. Orange, Bronze, and a white horse. This is a learning miniature for me. At one inch tall, this will freak you out, in one way or another. Toss in white, and you have a regal battle going on. Loved the challenge, and learned a lot. Oh, I always enjoy your comments, and/or criticisms ! Leave me a note ! Jay
  5. While I am serious about painting this miniature (and am enjoying the challenge), I am also using the WIP for a secondary purpose. I was given a gift of a cellphone that takes photos of an extremely better "pixelation" than my canon camera. So as I paint this miniature, I am learning to take photos at the same time. So that said... Here are a few photos of the Mounted Noble Oak Guard. at 25mm it can be vexing, so I decided that I would paint a white horse (of course), and then use orange (gotta keep robinh happy), and I'm doing tough color combo's. (Gotta make it fun). Here are some photos:
