This is the mini I painted a few months back. My first try at painting tattoos too :D I'm very happy how he turned out, I've used him as a boss in my dnd campaign and people loved him :D Next to a Mantic Greatax Orc :D Next to a heavily converted 03197: Thelgar Halfblood :D

Here my project for this past week. A family of barbarians ready for adventure. All the minis are from Hasslefree, and I went with the same scheme for all of them to reinforce the familiarity. Any feedback welcome ^^ here or on instagram, @albertnyarla

Julie Guthrie knows how to sculpt 'em! I love the twisted locks of hair on this lady, who meets the decency standards of the forum by fractions of a millimeter. And while we're on a kick of well-built tropical adventurers with a healthy disdain for pants, here's Todd Harris's Jaatu. An excellent sculpt in the grand Imaro fashion, with dragon/crocodile armor and an axe that you KNOW does more than just hack at things. Axes with faces are not to be trifled with. Both of these are perfect for the Chultan-set Tomb of Annihiliation, which I'm running currently.

Hey all, it’s been a little while since I’ve had time to paint anything. The last couple days I finally got back to it and painted up Toruk for a one shot D&D game on Sunday. I’m pretty happy how he turned out since I tried to go quick. I really love this sculpt and it might of influenced my race choice a little bit :) C&C welcome! Enjoy!

One of my first mini purchases. I painted him for a diorama a few years back, stripped and repainted with a whole new look inspired more from Wulfgar than Conan.

Horde of the North, Glitterwolf paints Barbarians and Mammoths
Glitterwolf posted a topic in Works In Progress
Yup another project, as if I didn't have enough on my hands. This will take a while, but I will start again. A few decades ago ( before I roamed this Forum) I created a Barbarian Army with Animal allies. I sold it and all I have left are these tiny pics that show only part of it. Also, this was decades ago so I didn't paint as well as I do today ( or at least I think so) Here are the old pics as appetizers, I will soon start the new army. Enjoy!- 27 replies

Ok I don't do that many WIPs but I thought I'd try on this one. This is so far a base coat and 6 layers of shading. I like to use glazes so the build up is very gradual and I have to remember that everytime I start a mini lol. I will put down about 10 more layers going down all the way to a deep purple. This is at the pure tanned skin shadow phase. It will be slow going due to work but I will keep up with it. Comments and criticism welcome and before it gets mentioned I removed no mold lines this is more of a proof of concept to see if I can finish a wip post and how my skin painting is coming along. Thanks!

So it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything. Been mostly painting terrain and going back to a mini was a little bit of an adjustment. I just finished this guy up for one of my D&D players who’s playing a halforc barbarian. I’m pretty happy with how he turned out. Still need to toss another clear coat or two and then maybe some blood on the axe. c&c welcome as always!

I don’t often do WIP. I figured I’d start one. I’m still working toward Reign of Winter Adventure Path appropriate models. Kord has a Viking vibe. He’s been trimmed, washed, brown-liner primered. I removed the glued on piece of his wolf pelt to get at other stuff. I’ll glue it on later, then green stuff and finish painting. I’m blocking in basecoats now. Skin and furs so far.

I painted Stonehaven’s Halfling Berserker to use as my gnome barbarian D&D character. It was a fairly quick paint job for me, only a few hours. I had finished everything but the metallics a few months ago and kept forgetting to finish her up.

New wip ..while I am working on that base for the orc shaman and this guy ..I started him of course :) Started to work on the skin, kind of sketchy stage for now , the sculpt is nice so better not messup that xd. I experimented with purple ink underneath before applying my color, and not waiting for the ink to completely dry so it kind of mix with the paint. I put in the picture my choice of color for that part , well for now.

77460 Bones Dwarf Butcher Ancestor Barbarian and Spirit
lexomatic posted a topic in Works In Progress
So I'm going to be starting a dwarven reclamation campaign in the fall, and I had 2 copies of the Dwarf butcher. I though it would be perfect to do one as a living butcher (who I can also use as an NPC townie) and his barbarian ancestor spirit that I can put on the table when he's a ragin'. So far the living butcher is mostly done (need to do his base and some touchups - I don't know how all of you are doing the eyes, because I can't see them even with a visor), and the ghostly ancestor is mostly done minus the ghostly glow I'll be drybrushing later. I do have a few process pics to post. -
I painted 2 minis for @Jasper_the_2nd for the Spring Exchange. He mentioned the song Holy Diver if I needed inspiration so I decided to do a mini and cram as much of his "wishlist" in as I could. I was familiar with the song but hadn't heard it for a long time. I watched the video on youtube (what a hoot!) I decided to go with a barbarian based on the video. He has a tiger pelt because tigers are mentioned in the lyrics plus it added some color and visual interest. Jasper also said he liked rabbits. I hid a tiny little bunny on the base. He also said to try something new so I tried out spider webs that I had watched a tutorial on another page. Jasper has created a character for the mini and I am so pleased he likes him!

Well, we have my next installment in some townsfolk Adventuring Kids. Cuthem the Barbarian with a ummmm.... follower of sorts, Spire. The names were given by @SisterMaryNapalm in the WIP I have running for these little tykes. Spire was donated to the cause of this little scene by @malefactus. Love the stuff he makes. Scene Set if fiction by @SisterMaryNapalm "Who are you?" "Me? Ah - don't mind me. I am just an obscure bystander." "You are? You look like a big talking mushroom." "Yeah ... I mean ... what a nice axe you've got there. It's pretty sharp, isn't it?" "It is. You can chop a guy in half. That's not something you can do every day!" "Sounds like your favorite 80's action film." "What's that?" "Never mind. My name is Fungal Spire." "Barbaria Cutthem." Cutthem and Spire - the new show on Netflix WIP Here Thanks for Viewing my madness and any C&C you feel inspired to give.

I finally decided to call her finished. Sana is, as usual from Hasslefree Miniatures, a great sculpt. I really enjoyed painting her. Hope you enjoy my paint work on this figure. Her WIP is here.

While debate how to proceed with my Phoenix, I decided it was time to get to some figures I was hoping to paint up for RCon. Tonight during google hangouts I managed to get her skin base coated and some shadows blocked in. I then proceeded to obsesses over the eyes and face. Which tends to be my MO. Makes the figure come more alive to my eyes. Going with a tan complexion and green eyes. Still need to paint up the mouth to finish off the face, but I think she starting off OK. Here is the result of tonight's work:
