    Deep Madness

Deep Madness is a scenerio based game with a limited number of turns to complete your objective(s) before the horrors overrun the world. The miniatures range from 33-60mm with a good amount of detail. The tiles are double sided with a normal and corrupted version of the same room. Deep Madness is live.

Starcadia Quest by CMON kickstarter (final 24 hours)

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cmon/starcadia-quest/description Main Game ($80) Expansion Box ($40, so $120 total) We will ship your rewards at our cost to our international hubs. Depending on where in the world you are, we will either ship to you from our hub in the UK (EU backers), China (Asia Pacific backers), Singapore (Singaporean backers), Canada (Canadian backers), Australia (Australia and New Zealand backers) or Atlanta (USA and the rest of the world). Following is a list of rough estimates for shipping a standard game package (4kg volumetric weight). Keep in mind these are just estimates, and costs may rise based on weight increases from unlocked stretch goals and any optional buys you choose. USA: $10-$20 to most states. $50 to Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. CANADA: $15-$30 to most cities. LATIN AMERICA: $70-$80 to most countries. ASIA: $10 to China, Hong Kong, and Singapore. $35 to most other countries (we can’t predict an estimate cost to Malaysia). OCEANIA: $20-$45 to Australia. $40 to New Zealand. AFRICA: $95 to most countries. EUROPE: $20-$30 to most countries. • $35 to Norway, Switzerland, Finland, Estonia, and Latvia. • $50 to Bosnia/Herzegowina, Croatia, and Iceland. • $70-$80 to Israel, Liechtenstein, and Serbia. • $90 to Belarus. Unfortunately, different import laws and customs have made it impossible for CMON to ship games to certain specific countries. *WE DO NOT SHIP TO:* Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Afghanistan. Basically a Tweaked version of Arcadia Quest designed to run faster and be easier to set up, with Sci-Fi-ification Dicetower preview video https://youtu.be/OIBNBe3HPXc Rulebook work in progress https://youtu.be/OIBNBe3HPXc
  3. EDIT: link to the live kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1744629938/hellboy-the-board-game/description The Hellboy board game will be a co-operative experience in which players face off against some of the comic’s most famous foes. Up to four people take control of iconic BRPD members, such as Hellboy, Abe Sapien and Roger the Homunculus, before exploring gothic locations and uncovering ancient artifacts. Set to make its Kickstarter debut in April 2018, the Hellboy board game will feature stunning, pre-assembled plastic miniatures that accurately capture the look and feel of Mike Mignola’s world famous comic series. “Hellboy has a great cast of characters, diverse locations and legendary monsters from the pages of folklore and myth,” said Ronnie Renton, Mantic CEO. “The comics provide a fantastic foundation on which to build an immersive, fun and fast-paced co-operative board game that will let players experience some of their favorite moments from the series.”

    Armymals board game pieces

Been away a while but still steadily working through the lead and plastic pile. However went to the UK games Expo in Birmingham and picked up some new games, one of which is Army malls by Titan Forge. Lovely little game with some nice game pieces that deserved some painting love. Here are a few pictures
  5. About The aim of this campaign is to re-edit two games from ancient Egypt, the Senet and the Aseb, making versions that respect the Egyptian style. The two games are handmade using wood and stone. Senet is an Egyptian game, and is one of the oldest games in the world. Senet was a very popular board game in ancient Egypt, people of all social classes played Senet. Many Senet game boards have been found in various Egyptian tombs, including in the Tomb of Tutankhamun. Over time, the game acquired religious connotations and became a ritual for obtaining immortality or endless life. With the popularity of Senet, new board games appeared. One of these was the Aseb, also known as ‘The Twenty Squares game’, Egyptian game derived from the Sumerian Royal Game of Ur and Senet. Senet & Aseb Although the rules of senet were not written down, Egyptologists and historians have guessed at how it was played by the many pictures showing the game being played. Senet is a game for two players. Two players each have 5 stones and there are 4 counting sticks which are thrown to determine the moves. The goal is to be the first to carry all your pieces off the board, while hindering your oponen. Meaning of the squares ASEB is a game for two players. Like Senet, the goal is to be the first to carry all your pieces off the board. The two players start on each of the opposite sides of the board. They then move their pieces down the central aisle toward the final field and off the board to win the game. All games include box and rules. Reward of 1€ not included. The rules are written in English and Spanish by a professional. Valid for all levels of reward. Shipping is included in the campaign. The basic version games have a lighter weight than the deluxe version, therefore the shipping cost is lower. Shipments are only made to the countries on the list. Weight less than 1kg : shipping cost between 5-9€ Weight over 1kg : shipping cost between 5-19€ Weight over 2kg : shipping cost between 10-19€
  6. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/806316071/batmantm-gotham-city-chronicles/comments KS only (not coming to retail as Monolith made a loss on the retail version of their Conan game) optional buys plus lots of unlocked stretch goals game roughly based on the fairly well recived Conan game engine, they did a decent job with the Conan minis too so if your into batman and have the (significant) buy in it's probably a wise pick.
  7. This is going to be a combined set of photos and game logs. I will try and alternate posts. I just received the KS ,on Thursday the 19th. So I started assembling the first 4 survivors andthe White Lion. My D&D group has 5 players, so I also assembled a 5th unarmored survivor from the kits. This is kingdom of death: a HUGE black box with an awesome "Botique Horror" board game and more than 35 minis to assemble and paint. Some are truly amazing figures.... The starting 4 figures were much easier to assemble than I feared. Its like the game starts you off in training mode. Even the lion was easy, but it did have a lot of cracks to fill. the figures have dynamic poses. Some are not, as amazing. The unarmored survivor below is very up straight, and the number of pieces is annoying. Arms: 4 pieces! for example. I cut a few extra from the sprue before I got the right combination of forearm pieces and both a right and left hand. I find it odd that the male starting survivors are left handed, and the women are right handed. (based on which hand holds the weapon) for as detailed as the starting survivors were, the back on this figure was poorly done, looking like a ken doll level of detail. I made him right handed, but unarmed. He is supposed to be beckoning a monster. to "Come at me, Bro"

  14. A terror of tabbies from the Fireside Games "Here, Kitty, Kitty" boardgame, painted with The Army Painter paints. I'll be posting a painting tutorial in the BGG "Here, Kitty, Kitty" forum. The plastic, of course, is boardgame plastic, requiring quite a bit of mold line removal and gap filling. Like red and yellow, orange needs several coats for coverage, so correcting mistakes and painting over shaded colors took awhile. The remaining *thirty* cats are black, grey, and white, so hopefully won't take as long...

  17. From Impact! Miniatures on Facebook Holiday game special KickStarter coming tomorrow. All rewards will ship by December 5th. I have a special opportunity to buy back my board game Impact City Roller Derby from Game Salute. So tomorrow I'll be running a special 2 week KickStarter to help me make new resin miniatures for the game and offer the game itself at an incredible price to backers to help me buy back my game. I will also be offering my other sports games (Passing Shot (tennis), Golf Dice and Forceball (hockey/lacrosse) at incredible prices. First 27 backers will be able to get all 4 games and the new resin miniatures for the cost of just the board game. So stay tuned for the announcement of the project tomorrow. I am excited to get a chance to buy back the rights to my board game. From Tom Anders (Impact! Miniatures) in facebook Game Salute published the game for us [impact!] in 2012. As part of them paying for everything needed to publish the game they had the rights to the game. Game would not have been published without them. However now they want to stop carrying the game as part of their published offerings. So I have a choice ... I can buy the rights to the game and get all remaining copies or the remaining inventory will be burned to make space in their warehouse for new games and the game will be out of print. So no regrets ... just an opportunity.

    Imperial Assault

Star Wars Descent - better known as Imperial Assault - is out now. I played 2 missions with some buddies last night and we had a blast. If you're familiar with Descent, IA is pretty much Descent 3.0 with a Star Wars skin. I really like the changes that they've made to the system so far, but I haven't played as the Imperial Player yet so I'm not sure how that compares to playing the Overlord in D2E. If you're not familiar with Descent, think of IA as D&D with only combat. Each time you play you assemble a map using different tiles that connect together like puzzle pieces. 1 player controls all of the Imperial forces, while the other players each control 1 character playing for the Rebels. You then try and complete your mission parameters in a set time limit. The missions chain together to form a campaign during which you can improve your character's skills, abilities, and gear. (Or you can just play one-off missions.) Sadly I can't pick up my copy until Thursday night. The agony!!!!
