  1. Let's get Nurgly, Nurgly! Here's the latest reinforcements for the Brotherhood of Rust, devout followers of Grandfather Nurgle. The (un)Holy Accountant, the Tallyman! "This my Power Abacus!" Those dread bodyguards, high in price in both points and dollars, the Deathshroud Terminators! The rustiest of them all, the Blightlord Terminators: The grunts of any Death Guard force, the ever-versatile and never dying Plague Marines!
  2. The most recent project has been a return to working on my Nurgle forces for 40k. I'd been finishing up some Plague Zombies I had started before 8th even hit...I'll have more of these guys in the army than the actual Poxwalkers: They were a bit cut out, but you can see the also in progress vehicles in the background. From some fun sales events, I have the bits for so so many Mantic Zombies sitting around, and plan on diversifying the Pox horde to represent most of the 40k forces post-life. Distraction, however, arrived in the form of Marine reinforcement! I love the fact that the new Marine models actually live up to their reputation of gigantic bio-engineered super-soldiers. While it is a bit sad to slowly upgrade my Chaos forces to a more focused Legion, I wound up selling off or trading my older Plague Marines who look silly compared to these new guys. The new models, while having less options and more strict builds, are quite impressive. The Deathshroud basically only have head choices (and a few swap outs for the Champion), but they do stand out: While I plan on converting most of the new character options from the Death Guard codex like the Biologus Putrifier, Foul Bloatspawn, and Ichor-Bearing Gooeycopyrightablename, I had to get the official mini for the Tallyman. Power Abacus!
  3. Lidless Eye Hobbies: Let's Get Nurgly

After some time, I finally wrapped up my two sets of Death Guard from the new Warhammer 40,000 starter set, "Dark Imperium". The entire second set is converted, I'm not a fan of clones in my armies. The rotting masses: The Lord of Contagion, no real work done to him other than the paint: Rotbringer Goth'ma, my count-as Typhus, built from the Lord of Contagion: The Malignant Plaguecaster, another standard build: And an Icon Bearer, converted from the Plaguecaster: The Putrid Blightbringer: A Sorcerer conversion from the Blightbringer. He could also count as Necrosius: The Plague Champion: He's the only non-Poxwalker who I didn't convert for the second copy. I set him aside, as there's another Plague Champion coming in the First Strike starter set. Maybe he'll be useful for one of the new entries when the Death Guard codex comes out.
  4. To add to the number of projects I'm falling behind on, I picked up the new 40k boxed set, "Dark Imperium": I'm really liking what I've seen for the new 40k, and although I haven't gotten a real game in in a long time, I've played Nurgle Chaos Space Marines for a long time. It's really cool to seem Marines the size they're supposed to be. I skipped over assembly photos, and went straight to the drybrushed armor. I think there's some shoulders and skin done in this photo, too: I haven't even primed the Poxwalkers yet. I already have a ton of modern/sci-fi zombie types, and while I do plan on using the new sculpts, I want to convert the second half a bit before I paint them. You can see my previous project, the poor Cave Goblins (of The Hobbit films), literally pushed to the side. I may work on them as a co-project, as they would make great Poxwalkers!
  5. GW Black Legion Chaos Space Marines

This is a 10 man squad of Black Legion Chaos Marines made by Games Workshop. I actually started painting them a few years ago, when I still played Warhammer 40k. I haven't played in a couple of editions now, but these guys were begging to get finished up. I chose to do so as part of Inarah's paint binge this weekend. My painting ability has increased since I started these guys; stripping them to completely start over was a consideration, but in the end I just chose to push on and finish them up, trying to fix things along the way. I'm fairly happy with how they turned out; I still have a fair number of these guys left to paint, so I'll have a chance to make the next ones look better. Please let me know what you think. DEATH TO THE FALSE EMPEROR!!!!! Apologies if the pictures aren't that great, I'm experimenting with my wife's new light box.
  6. Here's a batch of heavy hitters I've done up for an upcoming Warhammer 40k: Kill Team campaign. The Obliterators and Terminator are a mixture of GW parts, and the scatter terrain is Deadzone and the Starship Engine from Reaper Bones.
