  1. My most recently complete project is the lovely ladies of Oathsworn Miniature's "Heroines in Sensible Shoes 3" Kickstarter. As always, they are a joy to paint. They have nice, bold details but without being overwrought. They definitely look like a bunch of starting adventurers! The theme this time was more exotic races, notably a bunch from "Volo's Guide to Monsters" The ladies ascend the mountain: The Kitsune. She could be a lightly armored Fighter, a Rogue, or a Ranger. The Kenku (or Tengu) Shaman. Or Wizard. Or Sorcerer. Or whatever. She's got a bone to pick with you! The Kenku or Tengu Rogue. I went with oranges for them to continue my previous work on the Bones Tengu...which were also dressed in orange to match the official D&D pre-paints. The Dragonborn, could be a Fighter or Paladin. The decision to make her red was regrettable...with that pointy face and dreads, I kept thinking of Ugandan Warrior Knuckles. Stupid memes getting in the way! Tabaxi or Catfolk. I tried to go with more of a Ranger color scheme than the intended Rogue. The other Tabaxi/Catfolk from the set. I liked the intent of this sculpt...she could be a spellcaster, a Monk, or a Bard! The Halfling Knight. Her mount was painted after my own painting gremlin, Hershey. He would be much smaller to scale, though. The Tiefling Paladin. I really like the pose of this one, though I questioned the hooves, as 4E and 5E Tieflings of this design have human feet. I may wind up greenstuffing her into boots at some point. The Firbolg Druid. As far as I know, this is the only miniature of a 5E style Firbolg. The Minotaur Swashbuckler. I bet you were expecting a cow joke here. The terrain:
  2. In a recent one-day run through Ravenloft, I played a halfling paladin who rode a war dog. He was so fun to play that I have to make minis for them. Here is the start of Garr.
  3. This lovely Boxer Dog Bust is sculpted by Anastasiya Podorozhna. I painted him like my own Boxer. WIP here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/77676-brutus-boxer-bust-by-glitterwolf/& Here is Brutus:
  4. Bill Sykes and Bullseye

Presenting Bill Sykes (and Bullseye!), leader of the Dickensian faction from the game Twisted. Going back to painting true-scale minis, and rather detailed ones at that, proved harder than I thought it would, but I think I did a decent job. I just wish my varnish hadn't left Bills coat so shiny. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  5. I bought this wonderful bust of a Boxer Dog a while ago, I immediately knew I would paint it up as my Boxer Brutus. So here we go.
  6. Kev!'s 77410: Foo Dog

Howdy, Here is a model I painted at ReaperCon 2017... Also the Overlords Casualty Marker, Kev!
  7. So, I'm getting close to finishing up this Project. Also, my olde thread for this was from before the Great PhotoBucket Fiasco. So I'm redoing this thread using my new Imgur account! Behold my Bad Paint Jobs and Despair!! Or Not;) First up the Ani-Pals! Dog I Dog III Dog IV Bare the Bear Companion Dawg the Ranger, "Leader" of the Ani-Pals! Sting the Pixie Rogue! Salle Goblin Sorceress! Kildrick the Dwarven Cleric! Gonna post the rest in the next post so I don't hit Image Max Limits. GF
  8. Kev!'s Dog and Pony Show

Howdy, A couple from the bones 3 core set... Kev!
  9. I bought the Steampunk Wizard of Oz set for my daughter out of the Bones 3 KS. Naturally, I am doing it last minute for her birthday Tuesday, the 18th. So, here's the plan: A. Assemble them all on unfinished but sealed silver maple wood cuts using usual building materials. B. Basecoat them with simple but muted colors. C. Apply Sepia Wash and paint as needed to simulate a "colorized movie" look. Here's what we got so far: Dorothy and Toto on a Compass Rose beginning their adventure. The witch commanding her monkey. Dorothy glued in and brick road applied. Lion and brick road applied. Enjoy and stay tuned. More to come.
  10. Bones 3 - Death Dog 77407

Just finished my first Bones 3 mini paint job from the core set - the Death Dog! I actually managed to finish it in an afternoon (which is pretty quick compared to my usual glacial speed). Thanks for looking!
  11. 77176: Familiars 2 Bones Wolf

I got back to my Bones figures from the Kickstarter. The wolf familiar looks more like a dog to me. So I painted him to look like my wife's dog.
  12. This is a set of minis I did for a Yaktribe thing. The girl is from Copplestone Castings. Babes with Guns. The male is a ganger from Moonraker miniatures. And the dog is a Horror Hound from the Harwood Hobbies Sinbad line.: Closeups: The pipes in the background are made from some plastic tubes from the local hobby store.
  13. 50069 Zombie Dog Handler

"What's that boy? You smell something? Oh...........I think that's me! I had great fun painting these two, especially the dog. I was originally going to paint the guy up as a cop but I settled on a regular Joe. The fallen fence is made from a matchstick cut into quarters with a length of 0.6mm copper wire threaded through some drilled holes. Here's some more pics: Thanks for looking! C & C's always welcome!
  14. 03423 Cerberus, Hound Of Hell

I finished this little chap recently. The flat stones in the base are sculpted by myself, I was going for a old temple floor which nature has started to claim back type look. Some other views: I really love this sculpt! C & C's always welcome!
  15. I painted up the Bones 2 Mountain Troll, and also recently did speed paints of two Mega MIniatures dog miniatures since one of the players in my D&D game seems to like using Summon Nature's Ally spells to summon dogs to help, and I wanted to have a couple of them painted for our next game.
  16. These are from the Thunderbolt Mountain set #8046, Wood Elf Huntsman w/ Dogs. The set includes two dogs, but you can buy extras. The hunstman (not painted yet) comes with three weensy accessories to choose from: a bow, a sword, and a beautiful curling hunting horn. The site claims these are 30mm, but if so they are the tiniest 30mm figures I have ever seen, small even next to the smaller Reaper elves. These hounds are big, real Irish wolfhounds, compared to the Thunderbolt Mountain figures and reasonable dog-sized compared to Reaper figures. Be that as it may, they are sculpted by the legendary Tom Meier and are just gorgeous. I painted them up as part of Inarah's Memorial Day Paint Binge Challenge. The white one is in the memory of a beloved childhood pet.
  17. This week I finished up the Canine figure from the "Bones 2" KS Original Figures set. He is part of the Animal Companion set in Reaper's online store. I chose to paint it up like a Wild Dog, one of the Creatures encountered in Frostgrave. Nothing fancy, just a tabletop paint job. C and C welcome.
  18. Just two dogs that I finished up this weekend. One of which I finished up months ago at a paint n take but just now decided to finish basing and the other from the Iron Wind by the ounce bins at Gencon (does anyone know his id number? I can't find him on IWM website.) Found This was my first attempt at using static grass. I'm fairly pleased. This is the one from Iron Wind and I don't know it's ID number. If anyone does that would be appreciated. It's the war dog from the historicals line No fancy basing for this one. I decided I liked how it looked plain. I had to redo some of his markings after I put the sealer on because some brown got into the sealer so Iost some of the contrast. Unfortunately I didn't remember what color I used to get the markings in the first place. This color stands out better but the old one looked more natural. The two of them together. Comments and criticisms appreciated.
  19. These are from my year-end shelf of half-finished figures, which I am working on finishing. Hasslefree has many fun little nods to pop culture. These are some of my favorites. They are, of course, the entire Scooby gang from Scooby Doo. I couldn't quite bring myself to paint the great dane with Scooby-Doo's coloration, since apparently it does not occur in nature (As my husband said, "And of course authenticity of coloration is of utmost importance on fantasy figures."). This is probably my first attempt to glue props to bases. The candelabrum was a little too fragile, so I glued the snapped-off piece down flat instead. Here are the informal group shots from the WIP thread: The formal portraits were bigger than I thought, so I've put them in spoilers. HFN005 "Barney" (Fred) HFN003 "Felicity" (Daphne) HFN004 "Wolsey" (Shaggy) HFN002 "Louise" (Velma) HFN024 "Hamlet" (Scooby Doo)
  20. What I painted in 2015 by Xherman1964

Since more people are showing off what they did last year, here are mine: Minis I painted in 2015. ( seems I have been busy) I will link them so you can check them out. http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/66228-54mm-maria-roseblade-pirate-queen-by-xherman1964/ http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/65908-pumpkin-witches-and-their-house-by-xherman1964/ http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/65484-legendarion-hyena-warrior-bust-gebhuza-by-xherman1964/ http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/64977-zombicide-survivor-dog-painted-as-my-boxer-brutus-by-xherman1964/ http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/63196-bonnie-chonoscope-by-xherman1964/ http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/60500-77117-vandorendra-snake-demon-bones/ http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/63938-kabuki-bust-ky-ra-female-barbarian-16-scale-xherman1964/ http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/61631-xherman1964-paints-a-ral-partha-hill-troll/ http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/62215-beloved-of-sobek-by-xherman1964-crocodile-games/ http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/61632-stygian-guardian-chronopia/ http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/61214-77100-vanja-fire-giant-queen-bones/ http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/60959-undead-regiment-in-a-swamp-mixed-manufacturers/ http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/60445-zombie-grenadier-horseman/
  21. As a little present for my youngest stepdaughter I painted this Zombicide Survivor Dog as our Boxer Brutus. Nothing too fancy. But he looks like the real thing just enough to convince people. No Boxers were harmed in the process.
  22. As I wanted to paint something smaller between all the busts I started on this Zombicide miniature. My youngest stepdaughter asked me for amini of a dog painted like our pet Boxer Brutus. I put him on a nice street piece ( Thx to the EU Goodwill Box). Here is the star of the show. Brutus. Primed and ready to go.
  23. 77012 Gnoll Warrior Test figure

Critique please! This is the test fig for my gnoll contingent that came with one of my bones kick starter sets. The rest are about half way done, but I wanted to get feedback before I got all the work done on all of them so I can take said feedback into account.
  24. Farm Dog from Fenryll Miniatures

This is one of the six farm animals in the Fenryll set called Farm Animals ANI-02. I think his name is Ugly... Not happy with the sculpt or the paint job, but it is another one done! Edited for spelling.
  25. Ok so I am gonna post this diorama even though I still need to add things like body parts. Hope you like it, it was my first big piece and way tougher than I expected please critique away
