  8. I converted a Fenryll amazon to create this Priestess of Set for Conan's world. The staff emblem is from an old RAFM minature, and the snake is from Reaper. I really like the RMS Olive Skintone Triad for Stygian skintones. The copper tones are built up from RMS Scorched Metal with layers of Vallejo Copper added and finally glazed with Tamiya Clear Orange - I love the rich tone that achieves. As she is topless, I have linked her here rather than post the image. I hope you enjoy her; she is probably my favorite of my recent works. Priestess of Set, front view Priestess of Set, rear view
  9. I painted this Games Workshop Hurricanum a couple of months ago and the orrery that goes with it separately, but I had not gotten around to posting the Hurricanum on Show Off because I was waiting until I finished painting all the miniatures that go with it. Since that is taking a bit longer to get to as I've been painting other stuff, I figured I can at least post this now. I also painted this medieval cart from Fenryll recently. I was inspired to paint both of these in order to populate the town streets I hope to build when I get my Dwarven Forge City Builder Kickstarter stuff in January.

    Fenryll Amazon I(b)

My first attempt at a resin mini. This is from Fenryll Miniatures in France. She's part of a set, but I haven't painted the others from that set yet. My skin tones appear to be dying as her skin looks a little bumpy up close in the pictures , still I'm happy with how she turned out, particularly with her face. I'll try and take a better picture of her face tomorrow. Resin is intersting to work with since it's so light wieght and you have to be careful not to snap off pieces. since there is not much flex or give. Fenryll's Monkey King

Finally finished the Monkey King miniature I've been working on over the past month. Although I'm fairly new to the hobby, I've got a few minis from a few different companies in a few different materials (metal, plastic, resin) and this is by far the most problematic mini I've ever had to work with. He's fragile resin and I mean fragile. His staff broke twice while I was painting it, I sculpted green stuff around the second break (this the ribbons on the staff) to try and give it some more stability. His right leg also snapped while I was cutting him off the sprue it was on. *pulls out hair* He is an impressive figure, just... problematic. This was a commission for a friend, I'll be painting minis for everyone in their Pathfinder group. I love painting asian-themed minis.

    Amazon Adventurers

This is a set of resin figures put out by Fenryll. I bought a number of their sets when they showed up at Gencon one year. Unfortunately the line did not take off in the US. Many of the figures are very delicately sculpted and if they did not break in shipping they got broken during handling by the painter/owner. Fenryll is another company with great concepts, and sculpting/casting that doesn't quite live up to expectations. I experimented with shading white on these three, but in the end gave up and went with a wash just to get them finished.
