  1. Hi, After a bit of a painting break, I resumed my effort in getting my Forces of Natures army for Kings of War painted. I present here the Naiads Heartpiercers. This is a small unit of armour-clad, harpoon-gun-toting, water creatures. The paint job is a typical table-top army quality, but I did spend a bit more time on making the base more interesting to fit with the rest of my Forces of Nature Army. Also, I found that the name "Heartpiercer" fits pretty well with the whole Valentines things going on today. So it is a good day to post those: C&C always appreciated
  2. Hi, I'm continuing to paint my "Forces of Nature" army for Kings of War. Here is the Greater Earth Elemental. The sculpt was OK, but I found it to be too "Rock-ish". (I want an Earth Elemental, not a Stone Golem). So I sprinkled a bit of "dirt flock" to make it look more natural and earthy. I let you judge if you think it worked. For the color scheme, I kept it pretty light as i want it to look more good than evil... (though the rule books states "Forces of Nature" are Neutral...) I also spent some time modeling the base (which I don't usually do for my armies), to keep with the theme of my army (and hopefully please Ub3r). ... And of course, it is only when taking the picture that you realize there is a massive mould line across the face... C&C appreciated.

    77185: Large Earth Elemental

Haven't posted in a good long while now due to, ehrm.. Mostly laziness, but also christmas and priorities I guess. So hello again folks! :P Had a productive couple of days this week. Finished off two half-done models on my shelf and did my stone golems + this guy. Also started the two clay golems. I tried keeping it simple. Being such a big model I wanted to get it on the table and off the table asap so he didn't succumb to the ever present "Oh look at this other cool guy I could paint instead"-syndrome. Mission successful as he was done in two days! As for basing, I tested him on various blanks and figured 80mm was a nice fit. Alas I have no spares to use at the moment. Might be a long time until I get a hold of more so I'll post him up now and post a shot here again if/when he gets based. As a sidenote this has to be one of my favorite Bones models so far. I love the sculpt itself to death and he has real "heft" to him even in Bonesium. EDIT: New pictures on the base: also took a few top down images: Had some issues with shadows and the white balance, but tried to fix the latter after the fact. Might give it another shot in daylight or after I mod my lightbox a bit. Old pictures:
