  1. Hello everyone. As I recently finished an orc squad, I’m now focusing on a goblin one. I’d like to share my progress with you. These will be used for tabletop gaming, in DnD campaigns I recently started DMing. They’re all reaper minis. On these pictures I had just removed the mold lines, glued the separate parts and put the priming on : - 03850: Armored Goblin Spearmen (2) (the smallest one) - 03462: Goblin Warriors (4) - 03777: Cave Goblin Archers (2) - 03838: Sakarat, Goblin Wizard There are a few other ones for which I didn’t take pictures at the beginning. I didn’t want to make them green, so I was going for a yellowish orange for their skin... But as I was wandering through all the paints at my local GW, I stumbled on that “Squig Orange” and decided that was the one. So now they’re almost red : And here are the others that I didn’t think about photographing at the beginning : - 2 copies of 07003: Dungeon Dwellers: Bloodbite Goblins (2) - 14095: Neek, Reven Sergeant These last two already got some spare paint from other minis painting.
  2. Lidless Eye

Lidless Eye Hobbies: June 2018 Projects

Here's a big batch of miniatures, no common theme, that I finished recently. The "Eyedra" assembled as the more generic Hydra option, from "Dark Platypus Games". Thanks to the Reaper Box of Goodwill for this one. A Ral Partha "Dwarf Thief", more suited as a Gnome to modern scale, also acquired from the Box of Goodwill. To celebrate their return to 5E in "Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes", a Giff, 3D printed from designs from the wonderful DM Workshop. A Goblin Monk. I believe he's originally an Orcling from Foundry/Warmonger. Another Goblin, perhaps an Alchemist. A Warhammer Snotling. A Dire Pillbug, originally intended as a Myconid Mount, from "Ganesha Games", in their "Fightin' Fungi" range. Also of note is the backdrop, which are my in progress 3D printed Caverns set from "Printable Scenery"

    Ogre and little buddy

Have a lot of WIPs at the moment, last night was this Ogre and Goblin (just did the goblin while wash dried on the Ogre)
  4. Howdy, Game pieces need paint too... Kev!

    Murgmo - Reaper Miniature

This came in a Reaper blister with Baron Tervin Blackshield. I could not find them in the reaper store, even under the limited models. I painted Baron Tervin about a year ago and finally got to Murgmo, who just looks like the nastiest goblin model I have ever seen. Pity there isn't more of him available.

    14418: Bloodstone Gnome Scragger

It has been a while, but I am back with another mini from Reaper. This time its a Blood Stone Gnome, which I tried to paint up as a goblin. Hope you all like it. Any C&c is welcomed.
  7. I batch painted these guys, they were just begging to be done as a group. It took longer than I expected for what amounts to a speedpaint, but I think the unified look was worth the grind. Im not super happy with the colors I chose, but once I had committed there was no going back. I do like the blue goblins, though. This year is shaping up to be "the year of the goblin" with all the goblins I have in my queue, so, their blue skin is nice variation. Blue goblins aren't often seen on the boards, and Ive always liked them (and I seem to recall buglips hating them ). The ogres are great sculpts, some of my favorite generic ogres ever. Im happy to have them. I'm looking forward to fleshing out the ranks a bit more. I plan to add the aquatic ogre, and the half ogre, as well as the new goblin command (all sculpted by Bobby Jackson, I believe). I was pleasantly surprised to see more goblin grunts as special edition minis this month - Ill have to get those as well. Anyhow, enough rambling, enjoy the pics! The whole crew "everyone get in there": "now just the goblins" "the happy couple" "and one of the kids" "OK, two. Cant get enough of them." Comments and critiques are always appreciated. There are 14 bases here (and more minis if you count each gobbo) so if anyone would like some detail shots just holler and Ill happily add more.

    Vintage Minifig ME50 Goblins

I finally felt like I could sit at the painting desk yesterday, so I finished up this little group of 6 ancient goblins from Minifig’s first fantasy (Tolkien) range, sculpted around 1972. I’ve been spending effort on acquiring enough of these figures to stage a game for the past couple of years. Hopefully by 2019 sometime... As with any massed shield bearing troops, most of the effect comes from attention to the shields. Not much to see around back...
  9. I haven't posted much lately. Work and life have been busy. We have been playing Reign of Winter. The GM told me there would be some Snow Goblins. I thought these Bones Gremlins look a lot like Pathfinder Goblins, so I gave them a wintry paint scheme and some snowy bases. C&C Welcome

    Goblin Warg Rider conversion

Conversion post w Sculpt WIP WIP post. This was originally Bones #77202 that I'd ordered a while back and started sculpting on. Had gotten the sculpt finished a couple months ago between other projects, and have slowly been adding paint since. He's a bit on the dirty looking sode, which is alright as that's what I was going for. Wanted to give him a trail worn look. Added some more coloration and softened things up more than I had originally planned, but I think it worked out. Also, there's a faint detail of blood drops on the front of the base below the Warg's head. As I wanted to add the feeling that they were on the hunt, with the pose and the paint.

    Warg Rider Conversion WIP

Last night in an insomnia fueled start on the painting, I got to laying some basecoats on this conversion. Then a few color layers on the ground and sticks as well as the wolf's fur. Still a lot of work ahead on this one. Wont be picking it up again for a few weeks though. Will update post then. Original post in "Conversions" board (where you can see what I sculpted onto the Reaper Bones Warg)

    Six Reaper Bones

Okay so I dug around in the drawer and pulled out six unpainted bones that I got in my batch that I bought. I gave them all a thorough scrub with a brush and warm soapy water and a toothbrush. The ogre needed straightening up so I poured hot water over to readjust and then under cold to set. I attached all six using superglue to fender washer bases. I got this tip on you tube and have been sticking to it since I started this process. They are running out so I will look for an alternative afterwards. But these are good and solid and make a good base. So now I have to decide which figure to work on.... I have not primed any and up until now I have primed using "151" matt black spray paint. I did not know exactly what to use so I tried this when I began. I did pick up slightly after the photo and start to apply some blue to the Anhurian soldier using the same blue I mixed for a figure I was painting late last night. But without primer it did not seem to want to settle very well. The two figures I have seen painted are by Doctor Faust ; the hell hound and the ogre. Any comments/suggestions or generally helpful advice is gratefully welcomed.

    Goblin Runner

Hello all! I can't believe that i've missed this forum so far! My name's Andrew Cothill and i'm trying to learn to sculpt miniatures in 3D (Zbrush). I've been at it for about 9 months now. I don't mind brutal crits so please feel free to tear into it and i'll try to taken them on board for my current WIP =) Here's the concept i was working from by the super talented Klaher Baklaher Here's a sketchfab link to the model too. It's heavily decimated to fit on the site https://sketchfab.com/models/8d870cf7fd1447759c4322b75c7fc201 Thanks for looking and have a good day!

    Goblin

Okay gonna have another attempt at posting on here. This time I think I have found the right forum topic as last time I posted I think I may have put the pic in the wrong topic. I've tried to get the camera on a steady surface this time and snapped a goblin I just did while listening to my team lose 2-0 - so this kept my mind nicely elsewhere. I have tried to thin the paint a little this time and add a little highlight. I'm not too unhappy with this so I've jazzed up the base a little with some welsh slate and quarry dust again. It's not perfect but it's finished anyway.
  15. So, I'm getting close to finishing up this Project. Also, my olde thread for this was from before the Great PhotoBucket Fiasco. So I'm redoing this thread using my new Imgur account! Behold my Bad Paint Jobs and Despair!! Or Not;) First up the Ani-Pals! Dog I Dog III Dog IV Bare the Bear Companion Dawg the Ranger, "Leader" of the Ani-Pals! Sting the Pixie Rogue! Salle Goblin Sorceress! Kildrick the Dwarven Cleric! Gonna post the rest in the next post so I don't hit Image Max Limits. GF

    Fewmaster Toede, the hobgoblin

May I present to you; Fewmaster Toede of the Dragon Lance Chronicles. Sorry, the pictures didn't turn out that well. But I'm quite happy with the paintjob. All kinds of C&C is very welcome.

    Atomico; The Goblin King

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/621743078/the-goblin-king-miniatures-set Text Link because picture is a bit too non-PG. This is a miniature set featuring the Goblin King being carried around by his burly orc goons, as he flaunts his girls and his gold. The set fits well into any 28mm heroic to 32mm fantasy miniature setting. This set can be easily be the center piece to any goblin army.

    03838: Sakarat, Goblin Wizard

Just finished a little deployed painting. I've been working on some fancier models off-and-on for about a month, so I wanted to do a no-pressure, tabletop-quality mini for fun. My photo options aren't the greatest, and the teal highlights on the black are largely washed out, but I still think he looks fairly presentable for tabletop.

  20. The moon has blotted out the sun, so my little gobbo pal here needed to light a torch. How does he look? I'm particularly curious about the lighting, since I haven't tried anything like this before. There were three more of him on the sprue, so any advice you can offer will definitely be put to practical use! Thanks, guys!
  21. Finished the last mini in the Bones 3 Ogre Command set. Here is the Ogre Chieftain. He doesn't have a squire to polish his armor and the goblins use spit and their loincloths so....his armor isn't in the best of shape. The shield on the back probably needs some battle damage but I hated to mess it up after I spent so much time getting it to look nice! Maybe he "found" it. So here are pictures of the Ogre Chieftain and a group shot at the end. (I need a large photo background!) I added a tutorial on how to do the rust effect.
  22. These are the little standard bearers from Bones 3 Ogre Command set. I had considered adding bloody little handprints to the banner and then backed off because I wasn't sure. I think it turned out pretty well and I am really happy with their eyes! So here they are and a photo of them with the drummers because in my list 77567 says Goblin Standard Bearers and Musicians so I am guessing they are a set! C&C welcome!

    Goblin Musicians - 77567

These are the goblin musicians from Bones 3. They are still a little shiny because it has been raining like mad here so they have not had their spritz of Dulcote. They have tiny little eyes but they were so fun to paint. I made the little stool goblin be rolling his eyes upwards. He hates his job. The drum carrier is pouting. You know how when you get a song stuck in your head? So does he! He also hates his job. The drummer LOVES his job and gleefully bangs on his drum all day! C&C welcome
  24. This is Miss Ogre 2017. Steve Harvey realized he made a mistake and that she actually came in second but when he tried to rectify the mistake, she ate him. I had such a good time painting her. I kept having Shrek flashbacks. First, "Get outta me swamp!" The Scottish accent made me want to attempt painting plaid. Then realizing that she is wearing two skirts because.....Ogres have layers! I considered giving her a tramp stamp, a beauty mark (her tusks are in the way), and platinum blonde hair. Maybe I will have to get another and do that on the next one. The little guy has pretty soft features and I couldn't see any mouth or anything on him so I gave him a suggestion of a mouth. I may go back and tweak it a little more. Not 100% sure what the things are hanging from the front of her belt. I almost painted them to be lizard heads! Also, not sure about her dagger looking rusty realistically but it's not bad. Plus, she is appearing in this weekend's game! I can't wait! Anyway, here she is. I present Miss Ogre 2017!

    Bones I Goblin Archer

Sticking a fork in this guy. It's sometimes disheartening how very much I still have to learn.
