  1. Wolf Tribe - Rageclaw Warrior

I'm working on painting a tribe of wolf people and this is the second guy I've completed (first one here). This is also the first custom base that I've made. Funny side note: Early on in painting this guy I posted on the works in progress board asking for opinions on what is hanging on his foot. The conclusion that we came to was that it was some kind of buckle which apparently the sculptor of this piece (Werner Klocke) is obsessed with. As I kept painting I definitely started noticing the abundance of buckles across the various leather straps. It just made me laugh every time I discovered a new one. Anyway comments, suggestions, and criticisms welcome! Thanks!
  2. I'm painting a Rageclaw Warrior and I'm trying to figure out what this thing is. He has a leather strap wrapped around one of his hind legs and there's something hanging off it. Can anyone tell what it is? It's a package or a letter maybe? I don't know what color to paint it.
  3. 14032: Corm, Ghostmane Shaman

Edit: updated the pictures to have a neutral background (suggested by Glitterwolf) and better lighting. Hey Guys! I'm pretty new to painting miniatures but I'm having a lot of fun with it. This is the first one that I feel really good about but I'd also love some feedback. Thanks!
  4. 77304: Male Thunderknight

One of my players had to be difficult and create a bizarro character. An Oread Cleric who uses a dire flail. I finally got sick of using a prepaint earth elemental for him and converted this guy with bits I picked up in the Boneyard. Zenithal priming plus some glazes took care of most of the cloth. Metals, leathers and stone base got a base coat, wash and highlight. All in all, 2-3 hours.
  5. 02607: Bjorn, Dwarven Warrior

Started doing NMM again after almost half a year painting my Skaven AoS army. What do you all think? Thanks in advance for any advice or criticisms.
  6. 60182: Hakon, Iconic Skald

Hello guys! I have not posted in a while, hope you like this mini I painted last month. C&c welcomed.
  7. 14570: Dark Elf Warrior

Ok all, not my best work but this is my first time working on a drow skinned model. Any advise or suggestions?
  8. Ase Arvidson, Red Box Games

Ase Arvidson from Red Box Games. Another miniature that had to suffer before I've settled (kind of) for a sealing method. Ase was a quick, and rather painless, paintjob. I have decided to try and speed up things (since I'm at the time of writing 229 finished miniatures short of having painted all my RBG minis....). This means having to settle for less (one sacrifice is way less time trying to paint eyes on small minis), but with how Ase turned out I'm quite OK with that. The original sculpt had a rather ugly arrow running down the leg, which I cut away and replaced with part of a metal paper clip. I'm not a sculpter so that's the best I could manage (I have since though about using needles but the paper clips are way cheaper :D).
  9. Rippers Witch Hunter, Reaper Miniatures

Rippers Witch Hunter from Reaper's Savage Worlds miniatures line. Oh varnish. The bane of my existance. I just can never seem to get it right. I've got the first step down (two rounds of floor polish) but after that I'm stumped. What I thought was my try and tested method of matt spray varnish suddenly doesn't work. It either leaves considerable spots of gloss and/or frost (the later probably due to the cold weather). And the spray is a nightmare to maintain. Recently I've tried to go back to brush on matt sealer which seems to do the trick (at least servicable). But something worries me that I'm forgetting something, since there should be a reason that I didn't use brush on sealer earlier. I'm hoping it's just sloth. This figure is suffering from my (many) bouts with the sealing process. Anyway, I painted this miniature as a stand in for a PC in a game of Shadows of Esteren I'm GM:ing. I cut the sword and replaced it with a torch from a Bones townsfolk miniature. I had such high hopes with the mini before hand. I was going to go for a darker tone and try OSL. Reality hit and it wasn't pleasant. So I ditched everything and went plain. Got an OK result.
  10. 02757 - Gastaroth, Vampire

Greetings! I've had a couple of half finished Reaper vampires waiting in the (bat) wings for the best part of last year so I thought it was about time that I finished them off...... The second one, presented here, is Gastaroth (the other one is Jahenna). Usually, I get stuck in the same rut when painting vampires by sticking to red, gold & black. However, I've managed to sneak in some dark blue on this one to give him a bit of a regal look & I've also done the armour red which is something slightly different that I've been thinking about doing for a while now (I'd probably have done this gold in the past!). I put a green glaze on the blades to give them an enchanted look. Finally, I did a little bit of sculpting on the base by adding in some smaller slanted stone blocks & grass. Comments are always welcome, thanks for looking!
  11. Hiyo! I started working on the second painted mini for the upcoming 2016 Secret Sophie exchange, Arthrand Nightblade from the Warlord series. He'll hopefully make a great ranger character for my mystery partner! While there are many great painted examples of him already, I wanted to paint him in something other than greens and browns. I chose a blue and cream color scheme for my main colors– the rest will be neutral browns. I'll paint lighter, worn leather (or maybe linen?) wraps around his quiver and darker browns for his boots and bow. I still haven't decided on his hair color though... More to come after the Thanksgiving holiday! I hope everyone has a lovely weekend. Thanks for taking a look
  12. 14481: Galdanoth, Elf Sniper

Another member my Frostgrave warband. This time an archer. Any critiques and comments are most welcomed. Please enjoy.
  13. So Here is the Ranger Josey Wales.... If you have been following my WiP, you'll know why he is called that.... I started this mini as a piece for one of the players in our Pathfinder game, and suddenly, something went absolutely right with the face and hair, and suddenly, people are encouraging me to enter him in the ReaperCon Painting Competition.... So I really pushed myself to make him the best he could be... Trying a few new techniques, and taking extra care with everything I did... Hope you like him. Due to the pose of the mini, I took pics from the normal top down angle, and then some pics from below... A wonderful mini to paint, but DO NOT assemble him first!!!! Lots and lots of times I cursed myself for doing that... Comments and critiques welcome! George
  14. C-P Models Male Adventurer

Hi all, noob here :) This was my first foray into painting 28mm minis, after many years of building Airfix models and the like. Meet Augustus, my character in our D&D Starter Set campaign, from C-P Models. Paints were a mixture of Humbrol enamels; the base was built up a little with Milliput before paint, flock and static grass were applied. Thanks for looking!
  15. Zombicide: Josh the Thug

Here is the 2nd installment in my group of survivors from Season 1 of Zombicide with Josh the Thug. I had to remind myself as I painted that it is only a gaming piece. The side view shows his machete, the piece I decided was good enough from table top. My first installment was Wanda.
  16. Scibor: Onufry the Ribald

Here is my latest, Sibor's 54mm Dwarf, Onufry the Ribald. This guy was a blast to paint and is actually my first 54mm miniature. If you are familiar with the sculpt, you might notice that his shield is missing. I was originally going to have it on the base but there was no room and I think it is better without. Thank you to everyone that provided feedback in my WIP thread. Any feedback would be appreciated.
  17. Townsfolk - Blacksmith, Reaper Bones

A quick and dirty version of the Bones Blacksmith I did a while ago. Nothing fancy, basically basecoat + wash + abit of highlight on some stuff.
  18. DSM Male Ranger (7403)

So I started this for a player in our pathfinder campaign, he is the husband of the player that I painted some sensible shoes for.... and I have a list of the desired colors... Player wanted the sword instead of the wine skin... Eyes done with GW Scorched Brown, MSP Leather White, and SC75 Cantabric Blue, Skin tone is Arabic Shadow.... Thanks for looking! George
  19. 03419: Vaeloth, Hellborn Paladin

Hi guys, first mini after a 6 month lay off. Just saw the X-men and decided to give my take on Nightcrawler. Any comments to help me improve would be much appreciated.
  20. Tregar, Hasslefree Miniatures

Another awesome sculpt from Hasslefree Miniatures. I'm quite happy with the skin tone of this one.
  21. Salim Ghadafar, Pathfinder Miniatures

This Salim Ghandafar from Reaper's Pathfinder Miniatures rage. I painted him up to represent my character in an ongoing DnD5 game, Yusuf Al-Amin. He's a cleric of Sûne, hence the reds and yellows. I'm very happy with how he turned out but I did screw up the varnashing process and ended up with some frosting which I had to try and fix. I also noticed in the closeup that he has some white spots that I haven't taken care off.
  22. 77047: Goldar, Male Barbarian

It's been a while since I've posted something here, as I've been painting a lot of non-Reaper stuff lately. My PFRPG group just started up Curse of the Crimson Throne though, so there's a new crop of PCs to paint. Here is "DL," playing a godling character (think Hercules). DL uses a greatsword instead of an axe, so I did a weapon swap. The molding on Goldar leaves a little to be desired, but he's was a fun model to paint up since I enjoy painting skin tones (I still have no clue what's going on with this guy's muscles though). Overall, the goal was for a mini that would look reasonably nice, but that I wouldn't spend forever on.
  23. Gorak the Ravager, Warlord

I've been hitting a slump in my painting that's been keeping me from these forums for quite a while. I'm trying to regain my rythm and getting some pieces done. This is one of them: Gorak the Ravanger from the Warlords Miniature Lines. He was supposed to be a stand in for my current monk character in a DnD5 game, although I'm having second thoughts. Still love the miniature though. Seems quite angry :)
  24. I've been hitting a slump in my painting that's been keeping me from these forums for quite a while. I'm trying to regain my rythm and getting some pieces done. This is one of them: Sandru Vhiski from Reaper Pathfinder Miniatures range. I don't really know why I rushed him up the production line. He's somewhat fitting for a character I'm playing in a DnD game, although yet he's not. Perhaps he's a good fit for a future character? Sadly he ended up somewhat flat.
  25. Viggoth the Remorseless, Red Box Games

I've been hitting a slump in my painting that's been keeping me from these forums for quite a while. I'm trying to regain my rythm and getting some pieces done. This is one of them: This is Viggoth the Remorseless, from Red Box Games. He's abit smaller than I would like to but still a great sculpt. Somehow I messed up the varnishing and I just can't for the life of me get some of the glossy spots matt, no matter how much I spray them will dull coat (I've only sprayed him once or twice, I don't want to ruin the whole figure).
