  1. Darksword Miniatures Otter Ranger with Bow DSM8089 by Dave Summers
  2. This fun little guy is from Bombshell's Kritterkin line and is the first one of them that I have painted. I started him at our paint group last Saturday and finished him up over last few days. I wanted to go for more of a pirate type look than naval officer so I decided to play around with textured leather. It was a challenge keeping all the brown from not looking the same but I am happy with how he turned out.

    Critter Kingdom figures

It all started with a D&D group forming. That's when I started up the painting minis in June. And having trouble finding figures that we felt represented our characters, I opted to have some fun and use some anthropomorphic Dark Sword critters. Plus, I admit I was a little scared of doing human faces on my first go. What they represent in our game, from left to right - A Half Elf warlock, a Goliath warrior, an Elf swashbuckler, and a Dragonkin cleric of Talos. And the badger's weapon is a conversion because the original mace head broke off and my friend's character carried a glaive. I bought one of the Reaper weapon packs and used a piece from that for the conversion. I also got a surprise and found that I had already bought the badger a long time ago, so I had two! So I painted both up and call them "The Brothers". I love their furry cloaks.

    Siri Paints CAEKE

So I'm painting up my little reward for helping my FLGS move. Everytime i see him, i'll remember those fun times helping them sort and shelve boardgames, card games, and my own personal project of arranging all the Reaper minis by number. [would you believe no one else wanted that job and they were happy to have a volunteer to do it?!] Anyway, he's been primed, dark washed, and dark lined. Sadly I won't be able to base him. At least not yet...i think he requires a 60mm to fit his whole tail in. He's a bit wobbly on his feet but I only have 2 SW 60mm and neither are suitable for him lol, so he'll have to wait planning on this river otter color scheme, with either red or green leather straps. Not sure yet And lookie what I ended up with! Echidnox will be making his way to me at a later date. Thank you awesome people that know who you are!!
