https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2052977442/carnevale-the-miniature-game Carnevale is a tactical narrative miniatures game set in 1790's Venice. Safe from the effects of the Rent in the Sky that tore Italy in half, Venice is now a hot-spot of magical activity. Strange creatures rise from the canals, the ruling class play violent games with lesser men, and the population of Venice try to survive. All vie for power in the street fights that take place in the dark of the night. Carnevale is a game that focuses on movement and brutal combat. You're as likely to see two people battling in the streets as you are to see warriors jumping from rooftop to rooftop and drowning their opponents in the canals. Using the tight streets and watery dangers to your advantage will ensure victory, and if it doesn't, some well-timed magic spells might! Carnevale is a narrative game that sees gamers play through various scenarios with their gangs of fighters. The games skirmishes allow for in depth storytelling, and we have made an effort to streamline rules in order to let the action take place on the tabletop, rather than spending too much time keeping track in the pages of a rulebook. The tactical flexibility opens up when building your gangs how you want, using many varied members to different effect.
  2. Good afternoon again! Just finished Bale, the party's Eldrich Knight and god of Thunder/Battle for my current D&D campaign entitled "Broken Gods" Another one that's painted up to TT+ standard for me and took about 3-4 hours to do. Thanks for looking, C&C are welcomed and appreciated!

About this project Sacred Sword is the world that our chibi miniature line belongs to. While the game and the world are not present in this project, it dictates our overall theme and feel. The Sacred Sword line will be a high fantasy world, with a distinctly classic RPG feel. Modeled heavily after your favorite classic JRPG games but with a lot of added character and flair. We hope to provide a compelling universe for both your favorite RPG engine or other games that you want to use these for. The Sacred Sword miniature line is a Chibi 32mm miniature line. These are cast in spincast resin and unpainted. We've teamed up with the great crew at Impact Miniatures to produce the best figures at an excellent price and to utilize their vast experience and improve our project as much as possible! I've had a look at a lot of their newest figures and the casting and such are tops! We'll be carefully working with them to ensure every figure is cut well and casts as cleanly as possible Your funding provides AdventureCraft the needed capital to finish more concept art, sculpting and then casting of an entirely new range of miniatures. We're starting small, with just a few figures. As we reach more funding goals, we'll add new models from you to pick from. And step by step, your feedback and requests will be heard and implemented to create a colorful world. We've already got the first two sculpts finished and ready to go! The Useko Warrior and Forest Goblin are here to show off the quality of the sculpts you can look forward to when you back this project.

  7. I painted this guy up for a coworker who wanted to use him in his DND game. He heard through the corporate grapevine I was the "mini guy" and wanted me to assemble this figure plus two adventurers that were from the same promotion. The problem he was running into was that WOTC cheaped out on the production and the figures were pretty terrible. The sculpts were okay but the resin was flexible and full of air bubbles. He had snapped an arm trying to wiggle it off the sprue and came looking for "professional" help. Even my nice sprue cutters didn't help as the foot of one of the other figures exploded after I snipped it off. I came to the conclusion if I gave the figures back to him he might try to paint them and come to dislike the whole hobby so I painted up Strahd (but not the adventurers, he's on his own there). Putting Strahd together was, predictably, a total pain in the broccoli. The back leg of the nightmare snapped while I was trying to get it into the holes on the pre-made base. I had to pin on the fly with mixed results. All in all, it was kind of an unpleasant experience. I think it's the first time I ever hate painted a miniature. I gave the figure to the guy and then he left the company to start a consulting business so I can't get proper photos. I was really pleased with the OSL I was able to do which is why I'm posting it here. The cloak and shield were painted using Wappel's methods with Reaper's clear paints. Looking at the top down pictures I could have done a better job with the OSL on the cloak coming from the tail. Oh well!
  8. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/674003445/chibi-giants-and-swarms-fantasy-rpg-miniatures/description New giant, old giants from the first chibi KS re-sized to 40mm (some thought the originals were too big to be bosses in a number of games like SDE/Arcadia Quest etc) and a Trojan Pony
  9. *** Rise Creatures of Chaos !!!!*** *** It's time for Mankind to fall !!!*** A while ago I purchased this one through the Bay of Evil. It is supposed to be the Forged Monkey's bust. I have some doubts though. It was shown as an original, but it came without the original packing. Also I had to remove a lot of flash and needed heavy greenstuffing.. Could be a knock off. However I will paint it.. Started prepping.
  10. Starting this one up as it now has my attention due to a contest on bookfarce by the 'eavier metal facebook group. This is Distracted by Kingdom Death, she's a 54mm 1st run collector's edition resin miniature that I couldn't pass up a while back when she was released for a very limited time. This figure is completely nude so she is definitely NSFW and I'll make sure to link any pics that would violate forum rules. Let's start off with the 2 pics I can show! The NSFW pics that show the body parts - Front Side Side As I go along, I would like very honest and forthright comments and critiques to push me as she will be a contest entry and I may bring her to ReaperCon as well!
  11. Anyone know the approximate footprint of the Graveyard Vignette Base? I can roughly judge based on the existing tombstones that appear to be a part of the model, but I need to know whether it would hang over a 200mm x 100mm tray or not for wargaming compatibility purposes (Kings of War). The depth looks suspect to me.
  12. I'm always glad when a client sends some Arena Rex minis my way- the game has a wonderful set of sculpts. Here are the two strangest monsters from their lineup- the chimeric Proximo and the emaciated Wendigo. The only trouble I have with these pictures is that the gloss doesn't show up (it works on bloodied areas- the practically undead Wendigo has a few areas that should look shiny).
  13. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/674003445/resin-rolljordan-necro-and-volmarian-dwarf-fantasy WHAT IS THIS KICKSTARTER ABOUT? This KickStarter is a joint venture between Royal Art Games and Impact! Miniatures to bring two incredible looking metal Fantasy Football teams from Rolljordan into affordable resin for about half the price of the metal teams to give more gamers the opportunity to own these great models. The resin versions of these models will be molded from the re-touched masters that Rolljordan produced to make this a better more pitch-worthy team than when it was first released. The miniatures will be offered in Standard team which have everything you need to have a full team and Deluxe versions that will give you sideline characters (like cheerleaders) and star players. The KickStarter is bringing the Necro Undead and Volmarian Dwarf teams into resin. The KickStarter is also offering the teams from the last joint venture KickStarter at great prices. Here are the team and pack selections for the KickStater. The Deluxe team is the Standard team plus this Deluxe pack The Deluxe team is the Standard team plus this Deluxe pack The Deluxe team is the Standard team plus this Deluxe pack The Deluxe team is the Standard team plus this Deluxe pack The miniatures in the four teams are the new resin that Impact! started using this year that is stronger and able to be painted much easier than our past resin. The miniatures all come with bases and are provided unpainted. The miniatures will require light clean up and some assembly (although many of the models are one piece). Impact! Miniatures has created several KickStarters and delivered to all backers on all our previous KickStarters so bid with confidence. We are keeping this KickStarter small and focused so that we can quickly produce the teams and get them shipped out on time. NOTE on shipping: Shipping options are displayed when you pledge for a reward. Shipping is free to the USA, $5 to Canada and $10 to all other locations.

I remember that the first Imbrian Arts KS had a lot of issues and delays, but I don't know whether it was eventually sorted out or not so if any previous backers have any info it would be worth speaking up. The minis look good though
  15. Freshly washed, only 4 of the 20 heroes need repaired. The 3 villains still need assembled but I thought it best to scrub them down before gluing. Next up: primer test.

RUMBLESLAM I was surprised when I didn't see a thread for this kickstarter. They're doing wrestling miniatures of pretty much all the Blood Bowl fantasy races.
  17. A few people mentioned that they would be interested in seeing what I learned while playing with clear epoxy resin to make jewelry. Here's what I've done so far... To start, I wanted to make some ocean/beach themed jewelry for my daughter's birthday since she's obsessed with swimming and all things aquatic. I'd seen some examples of jewelry made with embedded organic materials ranging from dried flowers to shells, so I decided to give it a try. I got some supplies at my local Ben Franklin craft store: ICE Resin, open bezels and an assortment of little packs of dried sea creatures. If you google "embed organics in ice resin" you will get a lot of video tutorials if you're interested in trying it yourself, it was pretty easy. Pictures... (Hopefully the link works, I'm new to this photo sharing stuff.) https://1drv.ms/f/s!AlHOE-7v2CI0jLNiMq5AMDMSDTBgjg As you can see, the resin is completely clear and has a nice smooth, hard finish. I had to do two pours to keep stuff from floating to the top, and I think that's actually the best way to get an ideal end result. Since I had some leftover resin, I did a couple of experiments with it. I'd bought a bottle of greenish ink that's supposed to be compatible with the resin, so I tried mixing a few drops in. I then decided that I should try filling one of the 1" plastic bases that I got with Bones 2, so I quickly primed the inside and painted on some Spectral Glow before filling it with the tinted resin. While there was a 24-48 hour cure time, this definitely worked better than the Secret Weapon water effects I'd tried before. The resin is completely smooth and after fully curing seems very durable. The down side is that the expected shelf life is only about a year, so I'm going to have to make a lot of resin stuff for a while. In terms of basing, I'm going to try trimming a standard Bones broccoli base to sit on top of the resin and paint it to look like an ice floe. (The photo doesn't show it, but it's 100% flat and smooth and filled to the top of the base.) I haven't tested drilling a pin hole into the resin yet, that's on my "to do" list. I will probably stop using the Secret Weapon water effects for anything except surface puddle type situations, because it shrinks so very much. If anyone has any other ideas, I'd love to hear them!
  18. EDGE OF OBLIVION After many miles climbing the mountains of his homeland, Torgar the Barbarian had finally caught up to the two thieves who had stolen his family heirloom, his grandmother's axe which had been used to cut the head off the great orc chieftain Yarvak. He had found their trail and followed it through the blizzard. He was raging after he had shown them hospitality and drinks, they had slipped a drug into his drink and stolen the artifact.... Now was the time for the reckoning! "VENGEANCE SHALL BE MINE!!!!" Roared Torgar, after taking the head off the first thief and showing it to the other. "YOU HAVE NOWHERE ELSE TO FLEE TO LITTLE THIEF, HERE IS YOUR EDGE OF OBLIVION!!!!" The lone dwarf dropped the artifact and realized his folly, he could jump off the cliff to his death or have his head removed from his shoulders like that of his friend... -------------------------------------------------------------------- This was a really fun project, it took me a while to get started on it and took me a couple of weeks to finish as I wanted to make it a display piece and be able to enter it into a couple of contests, one of which will be ReaperCon 2017. Torgar the Barbarian, Limited Edition 72mm resin figure from Terrible Kids Stuff Random Encounter! 54mm resin figure from FER Miniature Base scratch built out of bark and milliput along with frit and snow flock Shoutout to Thrym for putting together the placard for me! WIP HERE Thank you all for following along and your comments/critiques are greatly sought after and appreciated!
  19. Just checking. I am soon to assemble my first small-scale multipart resin miniatures, the sort with a number of possibly fiddly bits (Eyeballing them quickly, it looks like things like arms were fairly well-designed, with integral pin/pegs and corresponding shoulder holes already provided). I have assembled great slabs o' resin before, but this is the first delicate resin I've had to glue. On the whole I favor epoxy as glue, but would cyanoacrylate glue be a better choice for little minis? Any tips? The figures are more or less Egyptian-style cat people ("The Republic of Khaliman") from a French skirmish game called "Alkemy", if that makes a difference. Lots of thin little tails and arms.
  20. A little something I picked up from my FLGS's discount bin; this 54mm scale mummified minotaur comes with a choice of horns and pole-cleavers to attach to an otherwise simple assembly. Here are the parts laid out before priming. I still struggle to decide which horns and weapon to build him with. Using one means not using the other, after all, but I figure they'll find another place to go eventually.
  21. So I have been working on this guy since the middle of April, and finished his base and final assembly tonight, So I give you The Hobgoblin Cheiftain & Death Chicken! I am taking many pictures to try and find flaws, as well as to solicit opinions as to the best way / angle / composition because Infamy miniatures is holding a painting contest for this figure, and I can only send them 6 pics. (PS if you have this mini, just entering the contest will net you a store voucher of 10 GBP! Entries by 30 June) I will likely post more pics when I get a better idea of what to do.... Thanks for looking, and critiquing! Special Thanks to those that followed along in the WiP, as well as the Hangouts for all the encouragement and suggestions! George

  23. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/141301719/fenris-games-rise-of-the-draugr Somewhere off in the mist comes the sound of creaking timber and leather, accompanied by a low wind and the first traces of a stink of dessication and decay. As the wind buffets the fog into damp shreds, shambling figures begin to appear in the middle distance - some as big as a man, some of them much larger, hulking forms. The shuffling becomes a rhythmic marching as ancient tendons and rotting muscles keep time and hurry the dead towards you through the swamp. Behind the giant humanoid forms now appears something still bigger, fouler, and more ancient - an armoured rider slumped in the saddle of the huge, decaying wyrm as its ragged head seeks to feed on the flesh before it... Fenris Games have been producing scenery and miniatures for tabletop gaming for 9 years now as well as working with other creators on renowned projects such as Cthulhu Wars. We're a two-man band of professional modelmakers with 30+years background in industrial, museum, architectural, film & TV work who now focus those skills on models for your wargames and RPGs, and we work with a huge pool of freelance sculptors to create the kind of models we use for our own tabletop. We're creating a small range of heroic scale (28mm) white metal and resin undead miniatures for your dark-age armies - including a huge zombie dragon centrepiece model. Kickstarter will allow us to make production moulds for all of these models and will ultimately lead to a widening range of minis and scenery to suit these settings. Sculptors Jo Brumby and Tim Prow (lead sculptors on Cthulhu Wars) have already sculpted all of the models included in the basic pledges - and will add more all-new sculpts if we hit our stretch goals.
  24. This was a speed paint I did in an attempt to paint faster and not overthink my miniatures. I had painted fhe base previously. Boris took and hour, my NMM attempt took 40 more minutes.
