  1. Oh, stop, I mean the piece, not the girl... This is Nemrod's flat resin pinup bust 'Sattheen' who is described as a girl wearing a tophat and corset. Because the piece is resin, it's considerably thicker than the traditional metal piece, presumably to prevent warping. The facing detail is quite small in terms of depth and very close to traditional flats. The master was sculpted by French artist Ivan Durand who also sculpted my 'Redhead Flat' buried back in the Reaper archives. Since I sometimes have issues with leaving well enough alone, I decided to convert this piece into something more along the lines of a Steampunk bust. I've shortened the tophat, added the mandatory goggles (plastic tubing/putty), removed the necklace and added a choker (scribing/sheet plastic/putty), altered and added details to the corset (scribing/sheet plastic), and hollowed out her upper left arm to create a mechanical arm. The gizmology is composed of watch gears, plastic rod and sheet, and bolt head sliced from octagonal plastic rod. The plan is to use thin sheet plastic to build the outer skin of the arm, but leave the mechanical bits visible. This is what I've got so far... Glen
  2. Magically Distracted She sat on her favorite stool, having gotten mostly undressed and relaxed, gently swirling the goblet of red wine in her hand as she read through the grimore in her lap... closing her eyes she gently concentrated on the spell that was before her... suddenly the books piled around her lifted up in the air as if they had minds of their own and were caught in a small windstorm. She giggled to herself and took another long drink of the wine from her goblet and continued to study... --------------------- This was a really fun project that I started up in April of this year. My goal was to get her done in time for the 'eavier metal online contest (Facebook) and see if I could place or perhaps get a random draw. I ended up uploading her about 10 minutes late, so I have no idea at the time of doing this post if she will be considered in the contest or if she will be disqualified. Either way, I had fun, I had tons of amazing feedback during the WIP and a lot of people cheering me on to get it finished. I present to you "Magically Distracted" a NSFW Kingdom Death figure in the 54mm scale, she is a limited edition resin release. Please feel free to give your comments and critiques. I'm going to check and see if I am allowed to bring a nude figure to ReaperCon this year for entry into their painters contest or not. If not, she'll stay home as I do have plenty of other things to enter as well. A few firsts on this one, I did some elaborate tattoos, magical floating books, writing in books in freehand, a completely nude figure, texturing pattern, Venus dimples, and last but not least sheer stockings (which were a lot of fun and a lot of work!). First - pics that are SFW and then I'll post some NSFW links (special thanks to @Thrym for hooking me up with his site for hosting as Facebook links expire) and for helping me out with the really cool title placard). NSFW Links One Two Three Four Five ETA: Better pics after a bit of clean-up to the OSL and added red ink to the drink.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2052977442/carnevale-the-miniature-game Carnevale is a tactical narrative miniatures game set in 1790's Venice. Safe from the effects of the Rent in the Sky that tore Italy in half, Venice is now a hot-spot of magical activity. Strange creatures rise from the canals, the ruling class play violent games with lesser men, and the population of Venice try to survive. All vie for power in the street fights that take place in the dark of the night. Carnevale is a game that focuses on movement and brutal combat. You're as likely to see two people battling in the streets as you are to see warriors jumping from rooftop to rooftop and drowning their opponents in the canals. Using the tight streets and watery dangers to your advantage will ensure victory, and if it doesn't, some well-timed magic spells might! Carnevale is a narrative game that sees gamers play through various scenarios with their gangs of fighters. The games skirmishes allow for in depth storytelling, and we have made an effort to streamline rules in order to let the action take place on the tabletop, rather than spending too much time keeping track in the pages of a rulebook. The tactical flexibility opens up when building your gangs how you want, using many varied members to different effect.
  4. Starting this one up as it now has my attention due to a contest on bookfarce by the 'eavier metal facebook group. This is Distracted by Kingdom Death, she's a 54mm 1st run collector's edition resin miniature that I couldn't pass up a while back when she was released for a very limited time. This figure is completely nude so she is definitely NSFW and I'll make sure to link any pics that would violate forum rules. Let's start off with the pic I can show! The NSFW pics that show the body parts - Front Side Side As I go along, I would like very honest and forthright comments and critiques to push me as she will be a contest entry and I may bring her to ReaperCon as well!
  5. *** Rise Creatures of Chaos !!!!*** *** It's time for Mankind to fall !!!*** A while ago I purchased this one through the Bay of Evil. It is supposed to be the Forged Monkey's bust. I have some doubts though. It was shown as an original, but it came without the original packing. Also I had to remove a lot of flash and needed heavy greenstuffing.. Could be a knock off. However I will paint it.. Started prepping.
  6. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1946588239/super-chibi-round-3?ref=hero_thanks What's Super Chibi Round 3? It's the next step in the Super Chibi miniatures line. What is Super Chibi? It's a shared universe that spans four interesting worlds, created by MidKnight Heroes. Each world has its own style and flare but is 100% pure Chibi. The Super Chibi worlds have everything from mecha and cyborgs to monsters and fantasy. Super Chibi are HQ 30mm multi-part resin miniatures they can be used for board games, role-playing games or simply collector's pieces. The sky is the limit! The Super Chibi Round 3 Kickstarter introduces three more characters from the worlds in the Super Chibi universe. These characters are from the world of Super Chibi Sector 7 and Super Chibi Tacticts, and can be used in any board game or Role Playing Game. In this Kickstarter, we are asking for help in creating these three new characters; Shin, Absolute Valentine and Deyanni. This Kickstarter will cover the expense of taking them from their mastered sculpts to the mold and casting process and help in providing us with funds to help produce additional figures, with an aim to populate the worlds of Super Chibi. Just like in all our Kickstarter's we will be including a book in Super Chibi Round 3, Super Chibi Origins. This time, it will tell the stories of our three main characters in their respective worlds. The book will include two short stories that will explain the world of Super Chibi Sector 7 and Super Chibi Tactics. Just like all of our books, it will be published by MONOLITH and after the Kickstarter will be sold on their site.

  8. I'm now finished with Nosferatu and have taken final pics. He came out as I intended and I got some very valuable feedback on the skin tones from awesome forum-mates. WIP found here: I present to you, Nosferatu, vampire lord from Green Monkey Models! C&C are welcomed and greatly appreciated! I'm also going to bring him to ReaperCon and enter him into the big figures contest on the forum
  9. Reconstructed and redesigned in response to your input, Stronghold on the Borderlands has been reimagined as a MASSIVE digital, infinite fort design for 3dprinting. This Design will offer more than SIX TIMES the digital content for the SAME PRICE as our initial launch! Original resin options will also remain with many NEW add-on options.
  10. As if I don't already have enough projects, I can't keep him waiting any longer! This is Nosferatu, a limited edition bust from Green Monkey Models. I have copy 11/50. This sculpt is amazingly detailed, it's creepy and awesome. I'm going to try out some new undead skin tones on this bust and just have some fun. I'll elicit all of your comments and critiques as I go through this project as well! As you can see he's nearly 90mm tall, a pretty sizable bust. I'm going to clean up the little bits of putty I used to make sure the seams where his arms join his body are smooth and even and then use the airbrush to layer on some primer!
  11. Good afternoon again! Just finished Bale, the party's Eldrich Knight and god of Thunder/Battle for my current D&D campaign entitled "Broken Gods" Another one that's painted up to TT+ standard for me and took about 3-4 hours to do. Thanks for looking, C&C are welcomed and appreciated!

About this project Sacred Sword is the world that our chibi miniature line belongs to. While the game and the world are not present in this project, it dictates our overall theme and feel. The Sacred Sword line will be a high fantasy world, with a distinctly classic RPG feel. Modeled heavily after your favorite classic JRPG games but with a lot of added character and flair. We hope to provide a compelling universe for both your favorite RPG engine or other games that you want to use these for. The Sacred Sword miniature line is a Chibi 32mm miniature line. These are cast in spincast resin and unpainted. We've teamed up with the great crew at Impact Miniatures to produce the best figures at an excellent price and to utilize their vast experience and improve our project as much as possible! I've had a look at a lot of their newest figures and the casting and such are tops! We'll be carefully working with them to ensure every figure is cut well and casts as cleanly as possible Your funding provides AdventureCraft the needed capital to finish more concept art, sculpting and then casting of an entirely new range of miniatures. We're starting small, with just a few figures. As we reach more funding goals, we'll add new models from you to pick from. And step by step, your feedback and requests will be heard and implemented to create a colorful world. We've already got the first two sculpts finished and ready to go! The Useko Warrior and Forest Goblin are here to show off the quality of the sculpts you can look forward to when you back this project.

  15. I painted this guy up for a coworker who wanted to use him in his DND game. He heard through the corporate grapevine I was the "mini guy" and wanted me to assemble this figure plus two adventurers that were from the same promotion. The problem he was running into was that WOTC cheaped out on the production and the figures were pretty terrible. The sculpts were okay but the resin was flexible and full of air bubbles. He had snapped an arm trying to wiggle it off the sprue and came looking for "professional" help. Even my nice sprue cutters didn't help as the foot of one of the other figures exploded after I snipped it off. I came to the conclusion if I gave the figures back to him he might try to paint them and come to dislike the whole hobby so I painted up Strahd (but not the adventurers, he's on his own there). Putting Strahd together was, predictably, a total pain in the broccoli. The back leg of the nightmare snapped while I was trying to get it into the holes on the pre-made base. I had to pin on the fly with mixed results. All in all, it was kind of an unpleasant experience. I think it's the first time I ever hate painted a miniature. I gave the figure to the guy and then he left the company to start a consulting business so I can't get proper photos. I was really pleased with the OSL I was able to do which is why I'm posting it here. The cloak and shield were painted using Wappel's methods with Reaper's clear paints. Looking at the top down pictures I could have done a better job with the OSL on the cloak coming from the tail. Oh well!
  16. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/674003445/chibi-giants-and-swarms-fantasy-rpg-miniatures/description New giant, old giants from the first chibi KS re-sized to 40mm (some thought the originals were too big to be bosses in a number of games like SDE/Arcadia Quest etc) and a Trojan Pony
  17. Anyone know the approximate footprint of the Graveyard Vignette Base? I can roughly judge based on the existing tombstones that appear to be a part of the model, but I need to know whether it would hang over a 200mm x 100mm tray or not for wargaming compatibility purposes (Kings of War). The depth looks suspect to me.
  18. I'm always glad when a client sends some Arena Rex minis my way- the game has a wonderful set of sculpts. Here are the two strangest monsters from their lineup- the chimeric Proximo and the emaciated Wendigo. The only trouble I have with these pictures is that the gloss doesn't show up (it works on bloodied areas- the practically undead Wendigo has a few areas that should look shiny).
  19. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/674003445/resin-rolljordan-necro-and-volmarian-dwarf-fantasy WHAT IS THIS KICKSTARTER ABOUT? This KickStarter is a joint venture between Royal Art Games and Impact! Miniatures to bring two incredible looking metal Fantasy Football teams from Rolljordan into affordable resin for about half the price of the metal teams to give more gamers the opportunity to own these great models. The resin versions of these models will be molded from the re-touched masters that Rolljordan produced to make this a better more pitch-worthy team than when it was first released. The miniatures will be offered in Standard team which have everything you need to have a full team and Deluxe versions that will give you sideline characters (like cheerleaders) and star players. The KickStarter is bringing the Necro Undead and Volmarian Dwarf teams into resin. The KickStarter is also offering the teams from the last joint venture KickStarter at great prices. Here are the team and pack selections for the KickStater. The Deluxe team is the Standard team plus this Deluxe pack The Deluxe team is the Standard team plus this Deluxe pack The Deluxe team is the Standard team plus this Deluxe pack The Deluxe team is the Standard team plus this Deluxe pack The miniatures in the four teams are the new resin that Impact! started using this year that is stronger and able to be painted much easier than our past resin. The miniatures all come with bases and are provided unpainted. The miniatures will require light clean up and some assembly (although many of the models are one piece). Impact! Miniatures has created several KickStarters and delivered to all backers on all our previous KickStarters so bid with confidence. We are keeping this KickStarter small and focused so that we can quickly produce the teams and get them shipped out on time. NOTE on shipping: Shipping options are displayed when you pledge for a reward. Shipping is free to the USA, $5 to Canada and $10 to all other locations.

I remember that the first Imbrian Arts KS had a lot of issues and delays, but I don't know whether it was eventually sorted out or not so if any previous backers have any info it would be worth speaking up. The minis look good though
  21. Freshly washed, only 4 of the 20 heroes need repaired. The 3 villains still need assembled but I thought it best to scrub them down before gluing. Next up: primer test.
  22. Fulfilling

RUMBLESLAM I was surprised when I didn't see a thread for this kickstarter. They're doing wrestling miniatures of pretty much all the Blood Bowl fantasy races.
  23. A few people mentioned that they would be interested in seeing what I learned while playing with clear epoxy resin to make jewelry. Here's what I've done so far... To start, I wanted to make some ocean/beach themed jewelry for my daughter's birthday since she's obsessed with swimming and all things aquatic. I'd seen some examples of jewelry made with embedded organic materials ranging from dried flowers to shells, so I decided to give it a try. I got some supplies at my local Ben Franklin craft store: ICE Resin, open bezels and an assortment of little packs of dried sea creatures. If you google "embed organics in ice resin" you will get a lot of video tutorials if you're interested in trying it yourself, it was pretty easy. Pictures... (Hopefully the link works, I'm new to this photo sharing stuff.) https://1drv.ms/f/s!AlHOE-7v2CI0jLNiMq5AMDMSDTBgjg As you can see, the resin is completely clear and has a nice smooth, hard finish. I had to do two pours to keep stuff from floating to the top, and I think that's actually the best way to get an ideal end result. Since I had some leftover resin, I did a couple of experiments with it. I'd bought a bottle of greenish ink that's supposed to be compatible with the resin, so I tried mixing a few drops in. I then decided that I should try filling one of the 1" plastic bases that I got with Bones 2, so I quickly primed the inside and painted on some Spectral Glow before filling it with the tinted resin. While there was a 24-48 hour cure time, this definitely worked better than the Secret Weapon water effects I'd tried before. The resin is completely smooth and after fully curing seems very durable. The down side is that the expected shelf life is only about a year, so I'm going to have to make a lot of resin stuff for a while. In terms of basing, I'm going to try trimming a standard Bones broccoli base to sit on top of the resin and paint it to look like an ice floe. (The photo doesn't show it, but it's 100% flat and smooth and filled to the top of the base.) I haven't tested drilling a pin hole into the resin yet, that's on my "to do" list. I will probably stop using the Secret Weapon water effects for anything except surface puddle type situations, because it shrinks so very much. If anyone has any other ideas, I'd love to hear them!
  24. EDGE OF OBLIVION After many miles climbing the mountains of his homeland, Torgar the Barbarian had finally caught up to the two thieves who had stolen his family heirloom, his grandmother's axe which had been used to cut the head off the great orc chieftain Yarvak. He had found their trail and followed it through the blizzard. He was raging after he had shown them hospitality and drinks, they had slipped a drug into his drink and stolen the artifact.... Now was the time for the reckoning! "VENGEANCE SHALL BE MINE!!!!" Roared Torgar, after taking the head off the first thief and showing it to the other. "YOU HAVE NOWHERE ELSE TO FLEE TO LITTLE THIEF, HERE IS YOUR EDGE OF OBLIVION!!!!" The lone dwarf dropped the artifact and realized his folly, he could jump off the cliff to his death or have his head removed from his shoulders like that of his friend... -------------------------------------------------------------------- This was a really fun project, it took me a while to get started on it and took me a couple of weeks to finish as I wanted to make it a display piece and be able to enter it into a couple of contests, one of which will be ReaperCon 2017. Torgar the Barbarian, Limited Edition 72mm resin figure from Terrible Kids Stuff Random Encounter! 54mm resin figure from FER Miniature Base scratch built out of bark and milliput along with frit and snow flock Shoutout to Thrym for putting together the placard for me! WIP HERE Thank you all for following along and your comments/critiques are greatly sought after and appreciated!
  25. Just checking. I am soon to assemble my first small-scale multipart resin miniatures, the sort with a number of possibly fiddly bits (Eyeballing them quickly, it looks like things like arms were fairly well-designed, with integral pin/pegs and corresponding shoulder holes already provided). I have assembled great slabs o' resin before, but this is the first delicate resin I've had to glue. On the whole I favor epoxy as glue, but would cyanoacrylate glue be a better choice for little minis? Any tips? The figures are more or less Egyptian-style cat people ("The Republic of Khaliman") from a French skirmish game called "Alkemy", if that makes a difference. Lots of thin little tails and arms.
