  1. I finished my current semester of school a few weeks ago and wanted to ease back into painting with something simple and something from my shelf of shame. I'm not real pleased with the highlights on the cloak, overall I'm happy with him as he ended up in a nice muted tone. Feedback welcome and wanted.
  2. So this is a Cthulhu Wars base that Vegascat sent me, (one of two), that I was painting as a piece of scatter terrain... It was supposed to be something easy and quick to fiddle with while other things were drying.... But like so many of my projects, it kind of grew.... And a close up of the Ivy WiP here Thanks for looking!
  3. Pentacle Base

So Vegas Cat sent me 2 of these, and as I am going to paint day tomorrow, I washed and Primed it, as I find that doing things that do not require finesse, helps me to get more done at paint days.... Thanks for looking!
  4. I've been waiting quite a while to be able to post this project in public but had to wait as he was a Christmas present for Ub3r (though not the model he was expecting! Buwahahahahaha!). He's Ulric the Defiler from Mierce Miniatures. He was really a pleasure to paint and I'm thrilled with how he and his base turned out. I feel like I leveled up a little on skin tones (well Caucasian skin tone anyway) and the base was my first real attempt to make something display quality. My favorite bases are ones that are full of little details that catch the eye, but don't detract from the main model. I used roots saved from when I was weeding the flower garden in front of the house that had been hung in the garage to dry. I also used dirt for the earth, something I've done twice now and really like. This is my first time using laser cut paper plants. Oh, this is also the first barbarian I've ever painted. Comments, helpful criticisms, and questions are all welcome!
  5. Happy Birthday Vegascat!
