    77299 Female Anti-paladin

For your consideration: Reaper Bones miniature Female Anti-Paladin. It wasn't until I started on my idea for the shield that I realized that *it* was the Main Character. Not exactly a daemon-possessed sword, but a symbiotic relationship none-the-less. Extravagant tone with bright, decadent colors. She-Hulk for the hair. Massive Voodoo for the dots. (More dots!) My cat Zen for the eyes. (He's a Tom.) Lots of non-textured areas to tell a story. Great player character or reoccurring NPC. A lesson of extreme - in Color and form. The armor was protective but the clothing was tattered like a torn mesh bodysuit. Heavy straps encircled limbs and the armored boots formed like hooves. Toothy maw adornment on the armor hints at hunger. A very introspective Pin-Up. I hope you enjoy. :)
  2. Evilhalfling was my exchange recipient for the Spring Exchange. He asked for something with an Asian flair. I thought this guy had a lot of character and would be fun to paint. I was right....mostly! He had a little metal bump on his right eye that I didn't know was there until I was painting eyes. It kept catching the paint and making him look cross eyed no matter how many times I tried to fix it. So....he got a gnarly scar and a blind eye! That'll teach him! I put a little magnet on the bottom so he can be swapped out with O-Sayumi (the other mini I painted) on the little display base. I wanted to do some freehand on his coat but I couldn't find a pattern or design that I liked and thought I could pull off. He did get a tiny Yin Yang symbol on his belt though! His monkey is a Chinese Golden Monkey.

    92761: Heroes and Villains

This is a Bones model from the second Bones Kickstarter. I'm pretty sure he's a villain. I wasn't quite sure what was going on with this guy's head. It appears to be a skull with thin bits of flesh remaining, like Christian Bale in the Machinist, so I turned him into some kind of angry zombie.

    Spring Exchange from Teskeria

For my spring exchange I requested a fantasy bad guy and for the colour scheme I suggested "throw some purple in" because purple is my favorite colour Well, Teskeria delivered this bad-arse lady. As well as these three spiffy bases: My mother in law was with me when I opened the package and commented that "anyone with that colour hair is definitely evil!" Thanks Mom! Anyway, she's gorgeous and I just love her. Hubby is preparing an NPC just for her

Nakayama Hayato as the Silver Samurai

Here is one of my latest super hero figures, a speed paint of the Silver Samurai. I saw a few details were soft on the Bones version, but I was very impressed with this fig. Yes, I see I missed a few mold lines, I didn't see most of them until I started painting and only cleaned up the most obvious ones at that point. The Bones sword being anchored at two points made it practically impossible to straighten. I will likely pick one up in metal down the road to paint as a traditional samurai. Comments appreciated, a very quick speed paint, I elected to go for vibrant stylized equipment instead of realism as I was already trying to elicit the stylized silver used in comics already. More pics and ramblings on my blog.

    Crosswire conversion to Ivan Vanko

This weekend I managed to call my Crosswire conversion complete. For those interested, the WIP is under this forum (but my computer doesn't like the link adding function on the forum). I am happy with how my NMM is coming along. I could have brought this to the next level with more time but as he will be used as a game piece, I am happy to call him done. More pics and rambling on my blog. As a teaser, here is Whiplash vs Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk.
  7. As part of my ongoing super hero project, I have been converting a few minis to represent some of the better known heroes and villains from the pages of comics and movies. I picked up Crosswire as a start for Whiplash, not realizing just how big he is. I ramble on it extensively on my blog, these couple of pics show how he scales with 28mm truescale figs as shown by Deano by Hasslefree Miniatures. In short, he is giant. I started by sculpting the Arc Reactor on his chest yesterday and today I added on the straps and power cables. As I see the bottom wires attached I need to go in and clean up the edge where I have a gap on the Arc Reactor base plate. Comments and advice appreciated.

    Dr. Doom

So I have dove into the first conversion for my super hero project, turning Dr Dread into his muse: Dr. Doom. If you haven't checked this guy out, he scales very well with 28mm truescale, but would be small compared to some of the more heroic ranges out there. I have included a comparison pic with a Hasslefree mini. Today saw the basic cape added. I have some clean up to do once it cures. I tried to make his cape billow in the same general way the wind has moved his tabard, I think I did capture it. Comments appreciated, updates to come as I manage to find time to post it. More rambling about this project on my blog.

    92759 Anti Paladin Hero/Villain

The last of my Hero/Villain set. This one is a no brainer. I imagine instead of a Holy Avenger this Anti Paladin got a Demon Shield. It's her side kick. Talks to her, has its own personality, etc. That's why I painted it a completely different color than her. I have a double of this mini minus the ax arm. I think i'll make it a Half Orc.

    92760 Hero or Villain

Not sure if this guy is supposed to be a Hero or a Villain. Either way I imagine he's pretty punctual.
