    MMO Cake Topper

I met my wife at the game store at a weekly role playing game. I had just moved into town, and the first thing I did was check out the local comic shops- and the 'manager' invited me to game on Thursday. That group is still close, and we still play every Thursday (although a few players have moved away). Her wedding dress had dragons embroidered onto it. It is reasons like these that I wish I had started making cake toppers before I got married. I'd have had quite a lot to work with. Here's a couple that were a little like us- they met through gaming and had me match some of the gear and costumes of their characters.

Halo Master Chief Wedding Cake Topper

My wife told me that it is her favorite of the toppers I've made. I suppose she's not alone in that, since another couple requested one. Here they are. I'll probably need to make one to keep sometime, maybe for our anniversary (we decided that Cortana was a good enough name for our daughter, after all).

    Gamer Cake Topper

I've made quite a few different cake toppers for some of the videogame fans out there. A lot of them prefer to feature the bride and groom holding videogame controllers or such, but sometimes we go a bit further. Here are a few cake toppers featuring elven bride and grooms that I've really come to enjoy. As with all the cake toppers I've made, these are completely custom built and customizable- the couple chose the poses and all the details.

Wedding Miniatures of a different sort.

You are invited to the Wedding of Turg, Half-Orc Monk, to Dara Silverleaf, Elven Druid of the Summer Canopy, on {Insert Date Here}. But Seriously, In my F2F D&D game one of the PCs is going to be getting married...to another PC!! So, to commemorate this, I have painted Minis for the Players of said PCs for the Wedding event! And here they are... Turg is being represented by a Stylish Orc Mini from a very small Kickstarter by Ekmel Sword Miniatures out of Malta, IIRC. Dara is being represented by the Dancer Mini from the Pathfinder Battles Minis line From Piazo and WizKids. It is Out of the Rusty Dragon Inn Set. I have, of course, Repainted it in more appropriate colors. Both minis have Custom Made bases, too. GF

    Action Pose Painter Cake Topper

Here’s a couple that had a very clear idea for me to work with. He’s a painter, and her occupation involves wine- and here they are in their glorious combat pose. This pose is more ‘three dimensional’ than most that I do. The design suits a cake that is displayed in the center of a room, rather than to one side. As such, they need several angles to really show them off.
  6. Twenty-three years since we made it official. I remember meeting you at the roleplaying gamers' table at Student Activities' Night thirty-two years ago, and it's been gaming geekery ever since.
  7. I got married on Saturday! Here we are looking far happier than is probably healthy. My wife and I decided that we would have our own homemade cake for our wedding, with her baking and decorating it and me painting up a cake topper. Recipies were trialled, decorating techniques were researched, and the end result was pretty great: And of course, the reason I'm posting in Show Off, is the cake topper featuring King Angus and Queen Shanon: I'm quite happy with the result. The base is from Iron Halo, who were incidentally the only company I found that made a 100mm round base, but also happened to make it in an appropriate design. I'll leave you with a shot of the wedding party (yes, me and my groomsmen have personalised Judge badges and yes, I would have bought whole Judge outfits for all of us if I could have afforded it).

    Cake Topper Zombie Horde

So, I had quite a few different sets of cake toppers on my table at the same time, and we decided to take a group shot of them: Naturally, we'll also need some couples to thin out the horde: On that last one, I'm thinking someone took 'proficiency: Shovel.'

    Cake Toppers with fantasy weapons

Here is a group of cake toppers that I did. I think the theme this time is fantasy weaponry. None of these brides and grooms decided to use the standard Shotgun or Chainsaws that are so useful to zombie survivors, and instead favored magic bows, spells, bastard swords and shields.

    Zombie diorama Wedding Cake Toppers

It's been a little while since I posted up some of the zombie wedding cake toppers I make. So here are a couple more- they're more or less standard, except that the first one has the zombies designed to be interacting with the bride and groom a little more than we normally make them (usually, they're separate and climbing/shambling on the cake, while here they're definitely being attacked by the bride and groom). Anyway, here are some sets I've made lately:
  11. I get to work with some of the best folks. This couple wanted a diorama on their wedding cake- the two of them as fantasy RPG characters battling a dragon. After showing them a few of their dragon options, they decided on Nethyrmaul the Undying. (He was my favorite as well). So, here they are all together:

    When Cake Toppers Sneak Attack!

I've had a lot of creative cake topper projects. A few of them now have been ninja related. Here's a poor bride who thinks that her groom hasn't shown up yet. But she doesn't know she's not alone...

    Romantic Ninja Cake Topper

Here is another cake topper that I've made. I find Ninjas to be very romantic, personally.
  14. So, maybe it's The Walking Dead, but maybe it's The Hunger Games, but lately, I've seen quite a few cake toppers using arrows and bolts rather than bullets. Some couples are in agreement about silent kills, but there are some couples where one of them didn't really get the memo and brought a shotgun. In any case, here's the latest from the zombie survivor wedding front:
