I like these armies but I am not too sure about the Vale Swordsmen in army 1, you can probably swap them out entirely for a mix of the Spearmen and Axemen to use them to get support on long Rush attacks for about the same price combined.  Also I am not sure if the second army is legal with expansion units in them as mercenaries I thought were only allowed to take original release units.  I myself would not have a problem with it as it looks kind of fun to use.

Silly rules be damned! If they didnt want us to take from Savage North they shouldn't have tempted us! Scoundrels and pirates we be! We take what's we want!

I really dont understand why that interpretation exists though. I've never played a game where taking a Savage North unit has given me any more of an advantage than taking an appropriate selection from the core book.

So I'm trying to screw around with Mercenaries and comming up with Janky lists using bondlaves. I came up with two and here's what I've got:

Troop 1 (212 pts)
Boris Mingla
Bondslavex4
Elandaria
Familiar

Troop 2 (88 pts)
Stone Giant

Troop 3 (179 pts)
Haranobu
Bondslave x4
Gars Necka
Familiar

Troop 4 (132 pts)
Hedassa, Cultist Leader
Bondslave x4
Jos Gebblar, Necromancer
Familiar

Troop 5 (136 pts)
Hedassa, Cultist Leader
Bondslave x4
Leisynn, Wizard of Chaos
Familiar

Troop 6 (111 pts)
Hedassa, Cultist Leader
Bondslave x4
Olivia, Priestess of Shadarzaddi
Familiar

Troop 7 (140 pts)
Hedassa, Cultist Leader
Tallis, Cleric of Ishnar
Bondslave x4
Familiar

Just taking all the spellcasters and overwhelming with different casting actions. Not to mention 9 Initiative cards and no card for my opponent.

Here is my second list, I had to test the limits on what was possible with this. I am wondering if I should take 3 stone giants and 2 barbarians or 2 stone giants and 3 barbarians:

Troop 1

Boris Mingla

-Magic Weapon

Bondslave x4

Troop 2

Haranobu
Bondslave x4

Troop 3

Hedassa, Cultist Leader

Book of Tactics
Bondslave x4

Troop 4

Hedassa, Cultist Leader
Bondslave x4

Troop 5

Hedassa, Cultist Leader
Bondslave x4

Troop 6

Hedassa, Cultist Leader
Bondslave x4

Troop 7

Stone Giant

Troop 8

Stone Giant

Troop 9

Raseri, Raging Barbarian

Troop 10

Raseri, Raging Barbarian

Troop 11

Raseri, Raging Barbarian

While I like the idea of 7 troops each with their own spellcasters, your list doesn't give me warm fuzzies. If you stun a monster you need soldiers to finish it in melee, I don't see the Bondslaves being effective at that. Your clerics need someone to heal, Bondslaves won't be around to be healed. But this is all just conjecture, if you run it be sure to let us know how it goes.

Personally, if I were to go with a cheap soldier from another faction I would go with the Reven Beastmen. Their MAV is high enough that my soldiers are going to be doing reliable damage, instead of hoping to hit. Bondslave Survivors may be fun to try with this too, have a horde of cheap Tough 0 soldiers.

Troop 1

Boris Mingla

-Magic Weapon

Beastmen x4

Troop 2

Haranobu

Armor of Courage (the free Inspire acts like a magic weapon for him)
Beastmen x4

Troop 3

Hedassa, Cultist Leader
Beastmen x4

Troop 4

Hedassa, Cultist Leader
Beastmen x4

Troop 5

Hedassa, Cultist Leader
Beastmen x4

Troop 6

Stone Giant

Troop 7

Stone Giant

Troop 8

Raseri, Raging Barbarian

Troop 9

Raseri, Raging Barbarian

Troop 10

Dendris, Assassin

: 10 troops, 12 initiative cards, 30 Models, 73 damage tracks
