Hey mods!

Could you maybe create/amend a sticky topic so we could have links pointing to Vince's PDFs, the Army Builder at ReaperGames and other useful WL2-related programs and downloads?

-I totally agree about most of the change for the game. You wanted to make the game faster, it's done. But by doing this and giving up on all those little rules, like Picking-up Objects, Looting, searching, etc. I wonder if Warlord is any longuer a skirmish game. without that, the more obvious goal in a game is to crush the opponent, or to take control of a location. Will warlord in the near future just become a Battle game ?

All of those things can be done by using the Specialty Action inside of scenarios. If you played in the tourney at ReaperCon, or will be at GenCon, you will see this in action. Scenarios can add all of those options. ::):

-No rules for Unit Cohesion ? If I divide my units between fights all over the board, the time to remind which minis are part of the troop I'm activating, I can totally destroy the pace of the game. I can't think about a single reason that explain you choice about that.

The previous version of the game never really did anything with cohesion anyway. There was no real penalty for being out of it. It simply never came up. So we had to decide between making it more important and having it mean something, or by removing it. I made the decision that the game would not be improved by forcing cohesion. I felt the game would feel more like a skirmish game without the cohesion rules. Keep in mind that a 4'x4' table is roughly the same size as a football field, so it isn't like units CAN get all that far away from each other.

-And by far the more important : no campaign rules ?!!?
The faster the game is, the best it is for campaign. I can only hope to see a new set of campaign rules for warlord (I'll test The Brettinburg Campaign for now, but I want more ^^).

100% purely time based. I needed this game out in time for GenCon. Warlord has been steadily losing players year after year, and the biggest reason cited was the lack of a current physical rulebook. A well designed, well balanced campaign system can take 6+ months to develop. I didn't want to miss this year's convention season completely (Warlord 2 was demoed extensively at Origins, and will be the rules system in place at GenCon) and lose another year's worth of players.

We are actively working on a campaign system now, and when complete, it will be available on ReaperGames.com. ::):

And remember, there will be other books coming out too, covering other factions, other objectives, and other styles of play. (Right guys?)

... Pay no heed to proud thoughts, famous champion. Now the flowering of your strength is but for a while. After a while, the time will suddenly come that disease or the sword's edge will cut off your power. Either fire's grasp or flood's surge or blade's bite or spear's flight. Or vicious age, or the flash of your eyes will gutter and burn out! It will be all at once, great campaigner, that death will overpower you.

It's terrifying!  Without enough caffeine your body undergoes these hours of partial paralysis and hallucinations! :shudder:

I'll be making PDFs this week, and putting them on ReaperGames. Then everything will be available direct from the left nav there. ::):

In defense of the 1 auto failure, not trying to argue or change any opinions here just sayin'. We feel it is the opposite side of the same coin as the 10 auto success. Nothing feels worse than rolling a 1 to fail when any other number hits, except maybe watching your opponent roll a 10 when any other number misses. Either way, somebody feels like a hero, and somebody curses the dice god. Just depends on which side of the die roll you are on. But, like I said, just sayin'. Not trying to beat a dead horse here. We have house ruled in the 1 auto fail, but then we don't mind if it extends a game a little bit.

Here's how I see that issue. If a warrior, who is supposedly trained in this type of combat, is any good at all, he's not going to miss 10% of his shots, especially if they are easy enough that a roll of a one would beat the target by a large margin. On the other hand, even a new recruit who's never held a sword or bow can get a lucky shot in.

Point taken, and not arguing. But, we attribute it to a heroic effort on the part of the person who doesn't die. Maybe he rolled just right, or the wind knocked the arrow off target, I don't know. We like it, so we are going to stick with it, but in no way am I trying to be mad at the game or anything. If ever in an official tourney, i could do without it and be just as happy. Just so long as everybody leaves my Ice Demon alone, I really painted him good. Give him a break.

Pfft. You just made him Priority One to remove from the board... :;):

Quick question from an old ghost...;)

Same format as the old rulebook? Full datacards and army lists in the book?

Well...after looking around, the only thing I can find is that the Sisters of the Blade seem to have vanished...

...but then, my wife used them all as Crusaders anyway. My old Khamsin might just ride again on the tabletop!

Sorry for the thread necromancy.. one question . Does 2nd ed. Warlord have the Roleplaying section like 1st ed. did ? I was a fan that was disappointed the Reaper RPG/Campaign setting went the way of the dodo. I'd love to see a campaign setting book for Pathfinder RPG, that's be wicked!

It does not, sorry. To keep the costs down, I removed all the extraneous stuff. We do have planned products in the future for this content though!

I´ll add to the threadomancy too just to say that I am an Confrontation 3 refugee and that this seems brilliant. Actually even better than the old belove C3. It would probably not be at all impossible for Reaper to grab quite some numbers of that customer base with this excellent product.
