Dwarfs of Kragmarr

Hmm true could drop the Olaf for a Konrad and use the 37 points to get the 6th Guard and split the Valkyries and Guards across the 2 Troops evenly.

Or a 4th Daughter of Skadi and a Luck stone because Konrad will Lock with 2 of the Guard anyway....hmmm.

(Well there goes the excuse to buy that bear riding lass :))

^^^ And this is what I love about WL. I can go round and round and round on tweaking builds, with no one of them being right or wrong, just playing a little differently. That's why I end up with so many figures for so many factions; even when I find a general list concept I like (and/or that suits my particular play-style), I can't help but tinker with the variations on the theme to see what happens.

Get the bear rider anyway, and try the build different ways! ::):

Looking for a 500pt build using Skadi (or) and using all females. Any suggestions?

Since the Kragmarr models are (in general) expensive, and Skadi especially so, the result is a fairly compact list when including her:

Kragmarr - 499 points

Troop 1
Skadi, Half Goddess w/Armor of Courage
Bailey Silverbell w/Book of Tactics
Valkyrie x 8

The book of Tactics helps a little with only having a single troop. Double cast using Skadi's WA to Bless and something else early; once she's low on spell points, wade in and Divine Vigor & Melee every round (don't forget the Free action Inspire for the +1 bonus). Keep a pair of Valkyries back as escorts to grant her an additional +1 for Support, and give them the Inspire bonus. Provoke will help keep the defensive strikes off Skadi, This will make her even harder to bring down. Bailey gives you a little bit of ranged threat to keep opposing ranged/casters from getting too comfortable.

Alternately, swap out the current equipment for a luck stone and a magic ranged weapon for Bailey. Use her to be ugly early - with Skadi's Bless, she will have 2 attacks at RAV 7 (if Bailey uses the Focus action), increasing the likelihood she will Pierce.

I'm hardly in a position to be critical of Shakandara's build its probably far superior for the game to my build, however I've dragged a bit more variety in and gave the girls a bit more speed.

Army: 499 points

Luck Stone

Troop 1

Skadi, Half Goddess

Daughter of Skadi x 2

Bailey Silverbell

Valkyrie x 2

Book of Tactics

Horn of Battle

Troop 2

Forge Titan

Given that I've never played the build I posted, I wouldn't say mine is superior. Your list forgoes numbers (7 vs. 10), but gains an initiative card over mine, and adds some extra speed. Further, in a game this size, it should be relatively easy to keep the Forge Titan from being over-run too badly, so his DR should help him survive long enough to kill more than his point-value in models. He's also a great target for Skadi's Divine Vigor.

My only concern about it is the Daughters. With such a small model count, there is little to run melee interference, especially if you are trying to protect Bailey too. I'd sacrifice one or the other for more meat shields. And thinking about it a bit more, I'd probably sack the daughters, leaving enough room for 2 more Valkyries, and a Magic Ranged Weapon upgrade for Bailey.

Kragmarr - 499 points

Troop 1
Skadi, Half Goddess w/Book of Tactics
Bailey Silverbell w/Magic Ranged Weapon
Valkyrie x 4

Troop 2

I like that for the boost to Bailey, however Daughters are as good at Melee as they are at Ranged with the Valkyries having Provoke to draw attacks away from the Daughters.

My counter to that is that you are only likely to get 1 toss with them (because of the fairly short range) before they are locked up in melee. And they are DV 9. The Valkyries are DV 10 (plus Deflect) and will get 2 swings in melee instead. I see that as a slight edge to the Valkyries (in this situation, because the list is so compact), especially since they are cheaper in cost. In a larger force, I think the Daughters have a better chance to be effective.

To complete more games my group has dropped the point total to 750. I ran the below list and Looter ran an Overlords list. Fortunately he also had one troop so I wasn't completely overrun. He had General Matisse, a couple of Yummys, a spell caster, some Phalanx, and a couple of Peircers.

Nalila with the Mithril weapon tear up Yummy, which was a surprise to me. Initiative was rather strange since I had 3 cards, he had 2 but effectively 8 spys. Needless to say he always went first when he wanted, but with one troop each it wasn't a game breaker. I lost but I think the only thing that would have changed the result would have been if King Hargrim had made his 2nd tough roll. But even that probably wouldn't have changed things as Looter had a couple of unbased Phalanx that would have first struck him. I hate first strike.

King Hargrim

Nalila x3

Mithril Weapon x4

Book of Tactics

Valkyrie

Giant Slayer x2

Guard

Horn of Battle

Battle Totem.

I have to agree as much first strike as was in that force makes it quite strong.  I will have to say I was quite impressed with how fast the Yummies died.  The Nalila's were crazy effective with their Rune Weapons turning into Mighty quite often.  You have to love the Rune Weapon.
