I found some old Miniature Magazines in a bin at a local comic book shop and they have some really neat tutorials. One is for a Thunderbolt Mountain mini I have so I plan to try that this month and to work on a variety of reptilian figure; snakeman champion, alligator man and some lizardmen. Might actually have time this month, with school back in session we are not out and about like we were in the summer.

Working on a tank I plan to finish by the end of the weekend, Candy after that. We'll what happens beyond that.

I'm not so sure I'd want to get hit by a missile with a "dog brain" AI.

Hmm. Plan for this month is to finally finish the last of my Eldar (I am no longer buying, so it should be easy to catch up), a couple of Otherworld giant lizards, and perhaps a handful of Reaper odds n ends for our new Pathfinder campaign (just started last fri)...

Working on some PC minis for Yet Another D&D Party and kicking off a Protectorate of Menoth force for Warmachine. Might also see how many bases I can build, just to have them on hand when I finish painting stuff.

I have a local con coming up next weekend that I have minis to clean and prep for... and the minis are not here yet so it will probably be a rush job on Friday....

Then we are spending a full week on the left coast, so no painting going on then.

I am thinking of starting the Halloween mouselings set from last year.

Other than those, no real plans.

I could call the tank done, but I'm not happy with it...

Got a bit of finishoing to do on my Nicodem crew. In addition to the starter box, I have almost completed 3ea crooked men, 4ea canine remains, and 6ea mindless zombies using a variation of Ghool's zenithal technique. The bad part, I kinda blew off finishing Mortimer and the grave spirit. (d'oh!) as a side nite, that technique works almost too well for zombified stuff.
Then I'll be in a mad rush to do my Infinity WuJing starter box and a HacTao by the 18th for a demo game, although I can blow off the Hac Tao as it will probably be a 150 pt game and... Well, fitting a 74pt model ain't happening.

Oh, and unleashing my weak pic-fu to show it all off.

One PC mini down, one getting its first basecoats, one cleaned up and primered... and there's paint on the 'jack, too. In other news, I'm starting to remember how to use my camera.

the zombified are almost to the point where I'm abandoning them. Mostly metals (tools, belt buckles) and basing. I also made some cool progress on the grave spirit. I could claim "simplicity" and call him done, but he doesn't quite seem ready. mortimer is in decent progress but he's a bit fiddly so proabably be a Friday finish with an impromptu session of Thursday night gaming.

Finished the tank, got started on Candy. About halfway done with a Basestar, either a C8 Dreadnaught or some 15mm infantry are next. Probably the 15s as I'm anticipating the release of the printed standalone version of Tomorrow's War next month.

I'm not so sure I'd want to get hit by a missile with a "dog brain" AI.

Does anybody else find it odd, by the way, that the information age has led to language becoming an oblique and imprecise tool where even the most straightforward phrasing is pored over with chicken entrails and bone tossing to divine the true meaning?

well, that sucked. I made great progress on some Zhanshi and the Hsien, I gave then a rinse and forgot to blowdry them... Next day the paint was bubblelicious- into the stripping jar. At least I'll have a reason to finish up Mortimer and the Grave spirit tonight. The rest of the zombies are finito as of last Friday night. Now to snap some pics for posting.

Update 9/26: after the bubbling disaster I finished Morty and the Grave Spirit and the first layer of gloss varnish dried overnight. going to apply matte varnish to them and let it dry overnight before basing (see my Nicodem thread for details...) before getting back to work on Annyssa. Infinity has been put on hold til after the WMH campaign (should be at least another 6 weeks) so no longer a priority- my sexy reindeer rider with the bow of awesome is. Got the reindeer put together, one last bit of final buffing and cleaning before i prime him. Annyssa is cleaned up and ready for assembly, i just need to grad some wood to mount her on while i paint her seperately.

To be honest, probably would not have gotten the Infinity stuff done this week anyway... but that paint issue sucked. :grr:

Actually got my planned figures painted this time. Snakeman, Crocodileman and some lizardfolk. Now to see if I can do the same thing next month.

Finished Candy except for the base, which will be very simple. Not so much "finished" as "tired of trying to fix the skin."

Also finished the Battlestar that's going to be used as a battle station.

I'm not so sure I'd want to get hit by a missile with a "dog brain" AI.
