Does anyone else keep checking the KICKSTARTER website?

I can't help it, I keep checking the kickstarter website to watch the number grow.

OOOOhhh. It just went up again.

Anyone else have this problem?

Nah. I made a widget that auto updates the current total. It even sends me a text message when we're within $500 of the next stretch goal.

I'll be putting a version of it up on our front page in the next day or two.

Kit, part of the fun is the refresh button. Thanks, I'll pass. I am sure there are others that will love it tho.

Maaybee...

But it's not like I'm addicted or anything. I can stop looking anytime I want to... Uh... Sorry, I gotta go check on something totally unrelated.

You guys do know the Kickstarter page is AJAX based so it automatically updates. No needs for refreshes.

Yes, but I like the illusion of control.......

I really like Kit's widget. My phone always has the current total displayed, so I can do my day job and only have to refresh to answer comments.

The text when goal is approaching is nice, because it means if it's late at night and we're close-ish (happened 3 times so far!), I can go to bed, and wake up with a few minutes to get ungroggy so I can update the site.

I like updating.

Of course I update both Reaper and Red Box each time I update and then there is the comment and web site reading....I'm sure I'm supposed to be painting or something.

Yup. I find myself checking a couple of times a day to see where things stand, and what the new reveals are. Helps pass the time, ya know? :)

I've never done Kickstarter before this campaign. Lots of fun.

You mean like have it open, and watch it through out the day, and log the totals I see periodically in a spreadsheet so i can see just how how far it goes while I'm working?

No, No, I don't do that...

Really, I don't.

I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM!

And now, for something completely different.

Yes, yes. I know. Not miniatures. But! Shiny! Art! With.. with .. with stuff. *Sage nod*
The book part usually gets shipped with efficiency; medals and patches and things seem to depend on the efficiency of the crafter making them, but communication is good and things generally show up. I haven't grabbed hardbacks; I've been happy with the soft covers.

Bones 3 had a bit of an unfortunate arrival time for me, coming in the middle of an unplanned move.  It may have taken me a bit, but I'm finally getting started on some of the pieces!

I even took them with me for some down time on our yearly beach vacation, though my set-up here is not very scenic:

That was last week, and now they're a bit closer to completion, with some details and fixes, basing, and sealing to be done.  Some Bones 3 furniture snuck in as well:

      Hi friends:
After hard months of working, we´ve improved the game Iron League Blacks Stadium and the art has changed. Mechs and miniatures are amazing now. The board game has a new full cooperative campaign with map, scenary and enemies generation.
The competitive mode continues and has been improved.
So, we also want to change the title of the game, and this is:
      IRON WARS
In July on Kickstarter. Soon more news.

Whilst waiting for my Bones 3 to brave the perilous journey across the sea to the EU I have decided to paint up other models from other kick staters. Not only to play with but to try and make some inroads into the "pile" of 20 models.

Here are three such models from a recent Kickstarter by Thunderchild Miniatures. These snails inhabited an underground world under what's left of a post apocalyptic modern world.

I like these models as the are very quirky and have some character.  Hopefully I can do them justice.

First of all they have been washed, sprayed grey and then I have given the metal areas a thinned coat of black.

The biggest of the three, the snail is a single casting. There is a separate throne to this model.

      as always comment welcome.
