This figure was a joy to paint. My best regards to the talented Julie Guthrie!

WIP thread here.

This mini has been entered in the WAMP forums Reaper contest. Wish me luck!

(Sigh) I don't think I will ever stop envying the sense of translucency you get on gems. . . .

Dito! It's almost as if you could look right through those green gems. BEAUTIFUL!
Best of luck!

Another amazing piece. Really liking the hair and the Gems but I feel the NMM on the sword could use more highlighting as right now it looks like it's made out of wrought iron or something similar. I know you're going for a strong sends of shading on this miniature, and have done a great job of it, but steal should be more reflective of light in my opinion.

OH and I was just reviewing the rules for the WAMP contest and it states:

"All entries must be new work. (New work is defined as any entry not previously displayed on-line in a completed state, You MAY enter pieces which have been shown as a Work In Progress)."

If she entered it into the WAMP contest before posting it I assume she's fine, also she's been a WAMP member for a long time so I'm sure she's more familiar with the contest rules then we are.

ummm. All these guys are saying how lovely your work is on these gems, but I'm just not seeing it. I mean, those aren't painted! Those are actually little glass beads! You can tell. The light goes right through them... :;):

Honestly, stunning work. Thank you for giving us something to strive for. I know I'd vote for it!

Also says: You may post pictures of WIP or final shots both here and elsewhere.

So no problem! Thanks for looking out for me, though! And thanks for all of the nice comments, everyone!

Monkey, the sword goes up to the brightest white. Looking at the photos again, it doesn't look that way. My photos never do my minis justice. It's very frustrating.

Nice of you to say so, but WAMP contests are fiercely competitive. I probably won't win. You should still enter, though. Painting for a contest can be highly motivating!

Wow! That’s an awesome mini. The skin, the pants, the potions and vials are amazing. Good luck for the contest.
