another one that has been sitting around waiting to have his pic taken, very simplistic, but I like the way it turned out

Great metal on this guy. I don't know if it's NMM, metallics, or non metal mettalic mettalics or whatever, but it looks damn good.

The only thing that makes me sad is the primer, it appears to be pretty grainy and does not do your work justice.

I want to say I used an old brush and dabbed on autumn orange/brown, and then do a light wash with brown liner

IMO, I think the roughness gives it the wrought or cast iron look. What works for me about the base is the how the metal looks to be in poor condition and not just rust covered. It reads as a pile of scrap metal so the browns instantly become oxidized metal to the eye.

I will say that the piece reminds me of The Iron Giant.

In any event I liked the piece and second it here. Great work.

I'm not positive it wasn't that way before I primed it. I picked it up second hand. and I though it gave it the ol' wrought iron look as well

Heh. You are prolly close to my son's age. Could be Vin Diesel's very best work. Just kidding, Vin.

What are the parts from on his left side? Missle tube or grenade launcher and what looks like a mechanical foot.

I really like the finish on the miniature, though with how rough his texture is I think its begging for some rust around the rivets etc.
