What's the first mini from the KS you will be painting?

I am thinking of starting with some vermin. Rats, spiders, and such. Knock them out early and in bulk, and get some painting practice in.

Same here, to get a feel for the material. I have been working with a Bones Minotaur but I don't want to damage it.

I am dubious that you would be able to damage the Bones plastic, unless you're using fire or sharp edges.

In which case, I really want a video of your painting style.

I'm at something of a loss as to what I'll paint first; maybe some of my Orcapocalypse, or maybe the goblins from Dungeon Attack, or the skeletons from Undead Assault. A lot's going to depend on where I am and what I'm doing when the Kickstarter finally comes in; if I can do lots of Paint Nights with friends, then something we can all work on (like mooks with lots of extras). Otherwise, maybe some of the larger stuff.

Probably start with one of the goblins. Or maybe something I'm getting multiples of. Since I paint very badly, more likely the latter so I can learn

Honestly I have a feeling wifey might want to have a say. She's tired of me painting "ugly monsters" (I think they're beautiful, so beautiful), so maybe one of the spiffy female adventurers to appease her first. She was gracious when I spent all those dollars on the kickstarter, so I guess I owe her that much :P

Personally I think I'd like to get some of the deep dwellers done asap, they fit well into an adventure I have in the making.

Oh, man. My mind went to a really wrong place when those two paragraphs combined.

Lemme put it this way; about nine months after you finish painting the spiffy female adventurer and those Deep Ones, you're going to need some minis with the Innsmouth Look...

I don't know, whatever is left after the kids have decided what they want to paint. After all, I went Vampire so I had a whole bunch of quality, affordable miniatures for my kids to learn on. I'm hoping all six of us will sit down on a Sunday afternoon and have a paint and chat session. We'll see.

I'll probably paint some wizards first, to use in my heroquest Wizards of Morcar game. I don't have the original minis :)

I agree! It'll be much safer (cheaper) to start my son out on something plastic than get into the metals right away.

I must say I have been very impressed with every Bones mini I have purchased so far; when my vampire set comes in we are going to be overwhelmed. Maybe I can get a picture of my son buried in all the minis. :)

At this moment I remember less than half of what I ordered. I'm probably going to start small with one of the villain figs. I'll say this much, It's gotten me buying minis again. Been popping by my local store and getting 1 or 2 bones just to get in practice. Started with me just wanting to see what I was getting into but now I'm buying a fig everytime I'm downtown.

Big plan of course will be a painting party. Pizza, Movies, Paint and a bunch of my friends

and I'm going to write up a pathfinder campaign that uses every single fig.

just because I can
