Robotech RPG Tactics - Palladium

Here is the update with that info @HornedTurtle

Get Wave One Items for your Wave Two Rewards – but you need to do it fast
Posted by Palladium Books (Creator)

If you missed the previous Update, read this first!

You can get Wave One rewards in exchange for the unrealized Wave Two rewards – but you will have to pay for shipping. We estimate shipping to all 5,000+ backers around the world will cost $120,000-$160,000. We’re sorry, but Palladium Books just does not have the resources to cover that expense, so if you would like to get Wave One rewards in exchange for the Wave Two rewards, we must ask you to pay for the shipping.

We will do our best to ship as inexpensively as possible, and we will only pass along our actual costs – with Palladium covering the cost of labor – but Palladium does not enjoy the steep shipping discounts of mega-corps like Amazon. Moreover, our overseas backers will have to contend with Customs fees, taxes and other costs.

Individual costs may vary substantially depending on the volume you are receiving and where it is shipping to. The size or weight of the package will also have an impact on cost. Shipping costs should not be too bad for most backers in the USA, probably averaging around $20-$35, but shipping to Canada is easily double that amount, and triple or more for overseas thanks to the nightmare that is dimensional weight.

$18-$35 in the USA is our rough estimate for most typical packages shipping within the contiguous United States of America. More to Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Of course, some will be much less and some much more depending on how much you are receiving. We will pack up your rewards, weigh it all, and let you know the shipping cost BEFORE we charge your credit card and ship.

$40-$70 to Canada is our very rough estimate.

$60-$100 or more to overseas/EU/Australia is our very rough estimate.

Note: The lower numbers above are based on a 9 pound (4 kg) package consisting of one core game and one of each of the six add-on packages. The second, higher price is based on 2 core box games and one of each expansion pack; 13 pounds (just under 6 kg). We think most backers should fall in this range. Obviously, fewer items will mean a lower shipping cost. More will increase the cost.

We know this isn’t what you hoped for. And again, we are very sorry, but it is all we can offer.

Reward Exchange Details

If you want to receive Wave One rewards for Wave Two – and pay the shipping cost – this is what to do:

1. Send us a Kickstarter Message to request reward exchange.

Your absolute best method for contacting Palladium to request Wave One rewards for your Wave Two Remaining Rewards Value (RRV) is via Kickstarter Message. This not only makes it easier for us to keep track of your specific reward selections, it also lets us easily verify your identity as a backer of this project. Once we receive your message, we will provide you with your Remaining Rewards Value so that you can select the Wave One items of your choice at the RRT Kickstarter campaign values, not their current retail prices.

If for some reason you cannot send us a message through Kickstarter itself, you can email us at kickstarter@palladiumbooks.com, but it will take us extra time to verify that you are a backer, and you might need to provide additional information (e.g. your Backer Number, BackerKit Pledge Number, pledge amount, etc.) to help us do so.

If you cannot send us a Kickstarter Message or an email, you can call the office order line, 734-721-2903. However, to help eliminate confusion and ensure that we send you the correct rewards, please refrain from calling unnecessarily, except to send us your credit card information to cover shipping.

To save yourself time and to get put at the front of the line for selecting rewards that are very limited in quantity, include your reward exchange selections in your first Kickstarter Message. Calculate your own Remaining Rewards Value as follows:

Blitzkrieg Wave Two components: $23.78
Battle Cry Wave Two components: $31.76
Showdown Wave Two components: $52.94
Reckless Wave Two components: $105.88

Rick Hunter: $15.00

Gnerl Fighters: $15.00
Zentraedi Male Power Armor Pack: $20.00
Zentraedi Infantry: $30.00

Objective Pack 1: $15.00
Objective Pack 2: $15.00
SDF-1 Resin Bases: $20.00
SDF-1: $20.00

2. Consult the list of reward exchange items below to select a number of Wave One rewards worth your Remaining Rewards Value. Any RRV left unused will be lost.

3. Send us a Kickstarter Message with your reward exchange selections. Please also include your current shipping address, just to make sure we have your correct, current address. Make sure to include your Apartment Number.

4. We will pull your reward exchange selections, pack them in a shipping carton, weigh it, and calculate the exact shipping cost. We will then send you a Kickstarter Message to let you know what that cost is.

5. Send us your credit card info (via Kickstarter Message, or by phone at 734-721-2903) and we will charge you for the shipping cost, or send a PayPal payment to paypal@palladiumbooks.com, then let us know you have sent payment.

6. Once we have received payment for shipping, we will ship your rewards, and you will receive an email with a tracking number for the package.

DEADLINE: March 20, 2018

Time is of the essence. We must hear from you as soon as possible and start shipping rewards out. In addition, we have limited inventory, so the sooner you tell us what you want and pay for shipping, the more likely you are to get the exact Wave One rewards you want. AVAILABLE ONLY WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

All Robotech® products are to be liquidated

Palladium’s license for RRT and the Robotech® RPG book series has ended. That means we will be liquidating ALL Robotech® products, starting with RRT backers who want to receive Wave One items for their Wave Two rewards.

As part of our license agreement, Palladium has a short window (from now until the end of March) to liquidate our stock of Robotech® RPG Tactics (RRT) products, Robotech® Shadow Chronicles® Role-Playing Game books, and the PDFs of the original Robotech® RPG series currently available on DriveThruRPG.com. So you must act quickly.

We will announce specific sales in the days ahead.

Somehow I doubt they'd have enough money for refunds if they liquidated everything they own and closed the business.

I wonder how long they've been sitting on the news that they no longer have the license...

One month is kind of a short time to liquidate everything Robotech from their inventory.

They lost the license? Is there some other backstory here?

So I know I have the battle cry wave 2 and I added the sdf-1, so that's about $51 worth of stuff.  That should just about match the rpg books, does anyone know if the books are any good?

If you like the palladium game system.  They use basically the same system for everything (Rifts, Palladium fantasy, TMNT, Robotech, etc).

I started roleplaying on Rifts so always had a soft spot for the Palladium stuff.  Not anymore though.

With Palladium?  Always at least two backstories...

I suspect they let it go as a way to finally close the door on this mess without actually admitting any guilt.

But who really knows?

I requested a refund last night.  So far, no response. I'll be curious to see if I ever get one.

I read some comment that Harmony Gold was going to lose its license in the next few years, so that may have factored into any decision about renewing a license.  As well, the share of revenue from the Robotech line may have dwindled to the point that it didn't make any sense to renew at the requested rate, regardless of anything surrounding the Kickstarter project.

The back story to the licencing right to Robotech has always been a mess. It could be Harmony Gold wanting to end this mess or it could be a question of whether Harmony Gold is currently even allowed to renew the licence with Palladium.

You mean other than having horrible business planning and budgeting skills?

Maybe this means we can get all the other Macross series in the U.S.?

Where do I have to go to find out what I can get for the wave 2 stuff?

You want to give Palladium more money after this? Obviously it's your choice, but it seems like that's just throwing good money after bad.

My guess is the licence was always a 5 year licence. The Kickstarter launched in April 2013 and funded in May 2013, so that lines up with a 5 year licence starting on 1 April 2013 and ending on 31 March 2018.

So Palladium have probably known for a long time now that their licence was ending.

Kickstarter is Live and has reached the initial funding level:
      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1744629938/star-saga-the-sci-fi-dungeon-crawler?ref=nav_search

      From the Mantic Newsletter:
"Star Saga: The Eiras Contract will see players guide a team of space mercenaries on a mission to retrieve stolen data plans from a research facility orbiting a far-off alien world. Players will take on platoons of minions, powerful alien bosses and be forced to make difficult choices as the story takes unexpected twists and turns.

The spiritual sequel to Dungeon Saga, Star Saga introduces newly improved and stronger rulesets, 'learn as you go' rules for new players and, more detailed, advanced mechanics for seasoned gamers."

If it wasn't for Mantics long history of fulfilment issues/delays/changes I'd be tempted by this. It sounds like the game I've been waiting for.
Instead I'll likely just keep an eye on the Kickstarter and consider buying at retail.

      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sodapopminiatures/relic-knights-2nd-edition/description
      Announcing Relic Knights: 2nd Edition

Ninja Division Publishing and Soda Pop Miniatures are excited to announce Relic Knights: 2nd Edition and its first expansion Void Break. Relic Knights: 2nd Edition and Void Break will feature new and revised rules for the Relic Knights miniature skirmish game, a new 2-Player Starter, brand new units, beautiful new sculpts for many existing units, gorgeous new art, and exciting fiction continuing and expanding the Relic Knights universe. The Relic Knights: 2nd Edition Rulebook, 2-Player Player Starter, and Void Break expansion book will be launched through Kickstarter in the last half of February, 2017.

      2nd Edition Rules
The 2nd Edition rules are an evolution and refinement of the Relic Knights 1.5 rules which were released in downloadable form in 2016. The new rules continue to feature Relic Knights’ unique card-based mechanic where players manage a hand of esper to initiate powerful attacks and actions; as well as the ready queue mechanic where you must carefully plan your units’ order of activation to maximize their potential and impact on the game.
Units are now organized into two categories, Heroes and minions. Whenever a Hero is activated they may also activate a minion, allowing these units to perform their vital battlefield roles, without taking space in your ready queue. Unsurprisingly, the mighty Knights with lead your cadres are powerful Heroes, who are instrumental in unlocking your entire cadre’s full potential.
Every unit in Relic Knights will be completely updated, with many units acquiring brand new upgrade options, such as special weapons, alternate gear, and unique abilities, allowing players to customize their cadres to their specific playstyle. An upgrade deck will be available (and included for free in Kickstarter pledges) for veteran players to be able to quickly and easily update their existing collection to 2nd Edition

      Beautiful New Models
Soda Pop and Ninja Division are committed to making Relic Knights a stunning visual experience on your gaming table. As part of that commitment the studio has taken a hard look at the entire Relic Knights range of plastic miniatures to determine which models meet our standards for quality, and which must be retired and given the gorgeous resculpts they deserve. Those models that didn’t pass review will be discontinued immediately and will be resculpted and manufactured in high-quality resin. Models which passed review will be repackaged and updated for 2nd Edition, being resculpted and making the transition to resin only once the existing stock has been depleted. You can follow this link to find a complete list of which models will be discontinued, resculpted, or continue into Relic Knights: 2nd Edition.

Resculpts are not the only part of 2nd Edition! In 2016 Soda Pop and Ninja Division released a small sample of the new units coming to the Relic Knights universe. These models were only the tip of the proverbial iceberg. In addition to the original units from Darkspace Calamity, the 2nd Edition rulebook will feature two additional units per faction, and the Void Break expansion will feature four more new units per faction. The Prismatic sub-factions (Void and Radiant) will also receive a massive influx of new units allowing them to provide additional options to the six primary factions, but also the ability to be played as standalone cadres. More Darkspace units are also ready to join your cadres. This all combines to make Relic Knights: 2nd Edition a bonanza of exciting and breathtaking new models for fans of Relic Knights!

      About this project

A long time ago, in the fantastical land of Farenhell, the enigmatic city of Gormalak endured its darkest hour. Change came to this grand and sprawling city as the walls moved to reveal a giant network of underground passages and endless galleries. And so this labyrinth, known only as Infragorma, gave up its secrets … and its denizens. A myriad of creatures burst forth from this subterranean maze and sought Gormalak’s destruction. That dark age, filled with war and magic, honour and treachery, would be remembered as the Circle of Blood: a time where the great heroes and brotherhoods of Farenhell fought for the future of Gormalak.
The city of Gormalak is the most ancient of all in the Great Continent. Erected by an extinct wizard lineage, the wise and powerful Gordmunds, it grew over the centuries in admiration and respect to the point of becoming an ambitious and arrogant city. The sacred government council, known as the Paradox, was formed by the seven elderly wizards, who declared one day, war onto the most powerful and influent nation, known as the Mountsea. This strong human empire wouldn’t ignore the wizard’s insolence and counterattacked with a bloody and atrocious battle that condemned both, Gormalak and wizards, to the absolute forgetfulness. After several centuries, the deserted city was discover by a few wanderers that decided to gradually reconstruct walls and silent alleys, making its streets flourish and become full of life once again. The ancient Gormalak was then established as the City State of Gormalak, a new power that even great kingdoms respected and it has remained so since.

Circle of Blood is a miniature game that reproduces tactical battles of two or more squads of Adventurers called Brotherhoods. The players are in charge of a group of brave heroes or villains that come from different regions of Farenhell. These unalike Adventurers will have to defend the city from the dark events which surround it, or maybe take advantage of this chaos to provoke terror and crimes during the missions created by this game.
